Giochi Preziosi[]

YajAB

Giochi Preziosi Dragon Ball Z series Yajirobe figure

  • Giochi Preziosi Dragon Ball Z series
  • Release date: 2003

The initial AB series of "Super Guerriers Articules" figures had a large repertoire of figures which would be re-released under multiple under licensed companies. This specific piece was originally produced in 1996 (dated 1989) by AB Groupe but did not see a proper release until 2003 under the "Giochi Preziosi" lineup. Yajirobe was quite a rarity as a 5-inch figure. Due to being a limited release exclusive to European collectors, the figure's release date and actual original company remain a mystery. However, the model's production being in 1996 and under AB's run is a definite conclusive piece of information about this figure. It is unknown why this figure was not released in the original Super Guerriers lineup in 1996 along with the rest of the figures in that set. But it did have an official release by Giochi Preziosi in 2003, albeit being the only official release of the figure. This is Yajirobe's only 5-inch scale model at the basic figure height other than the Irwin and Jakks model, which actually surfaced prior to this piece. This is likely one of Yajirobe's best figures in terms of height. The figure comes with his katana sword, which he can hold and displays his unique orange garb as well. The actual detail on Yajirobe's face here is an acceptable likeness for an AB produced piece, being one of the best designed by the company. All his intricate details remain intact, including his sandals, hair, and sword. It is unknown why this piece was not released until 2003 but many collectors have deemed it a chase figure due to its limited supply and unusual release date.

  • Release date: 2007

Released in November 2007 is this limited diorama set manufactured by Mekke for Bird Studio and Shueisha. Yajirobe is included in this set as a background piece and contributes to the scene's original depiction as Goku prepares to launch his devastating and bone-cracking attack against Vegeta. Goku maintains a crouched posture as one hand is stretched backward and the other is seen in front. He is in a feral positional as he has a serious expression on his face and stares down his equally deadly opponent. In the distance, Yajirobe hides behind the mountainous rocks and boulders, maintaining a fearful yet curious expression as he watches the two Saiyans prepare for their all-out assault. The atmosphere and additional features of the background add to the overall distinctive feel and environment as a part of the displayed scene, which primarily incorporates the strong emphasis of a rage waiting to be unleashed. The piece is a brilliantly crafted structure for a Dragon Ball Selection addition. The base reads "Dragon Ball Son Gokou" and has a two-star Dragon Ball on its plate. This is the second volume release of the Dragon Ball Selection series.

Zima[]

Yajirobecutversion

Great Ape Vegeta with Goku, Gohan, and Yajirobe Diorama

  • Zima Limited Edition Diorama
  • Release date: 2009

Announced during Super Festival 49 Toy Exhibition by Zima (also known as Zeem and Jima) in April and May and consecutively released in June 2009, this unique large-scale model of Great Ape Vegeta is accompanied by Earth's Special Forces, who are fighting against the onslaught of this gigantic primate menace. This model is made in a limited run of 300 pieces. Not only is it one of the most expensive Vegeta pieces to be produced, but it is also one of the rarest pieces in relation to Dragon Ball. Other than the fact that the piece is limited in quantities, there's also the additional characters that create and complete the legendary scene. Goku is seen being squeezed, his life and energy leaving him as he loses the last of his power but doesn't give up, even under these overwhelming and deadly odds. Gohan, who stands atop a mountain, attempts to distract the brutish Giant Ape Vegeta as Yajirobe slices off his tail from behind in his powerfully glorious moment of heroism in the heat of the battle. Yajirobe's swift movement and skills with his katana are witnessed brilliantly in this scene and the diorama does great justice in depicting the momentous battle in the peak of this surprise action scene. Additionally, the backside of the piece portrays Vegeta's tail being hacked off, the slicing motion of the sharp edge of the blade having a great effect as the perfect cut is delivered to recreate this glorious suspenseful moment in Dragon Ball Z history.
