Wish Upon A Dragon (ドラゴンボール危機一髪 Doragon Bōru Kiki Ippatsu, lit. "A Critical Moment for the Dragon Balls") is the second volume of the original Dragon Ball manga series by Akira Toriyama. It was released on January 10, 1986 in Japan and on March, 2003 for the English version. It covers thirteen chapters; the second half of the Emperor Pilaf Saga and the very beginning of the Tournament Saga.
Volume introduction by Akira Toriyama
"Happy New Year. …Which means that I, who made my debut in comics at my 23rd New Year’s, have now come to my 30th. I’ve thoroughly managed to become a “real” cartoonist. Anyhow, this is a tough business: it seems like, if you’ve got work to do, then you’re so busy that there’s no time for sleep, but if you don’t have any work, then you don’t know what to do with yourself, and there’s nothing to do but sleep. I really hate being busy, but I also don’t like not knowing what to do, so I’m doing my best."
Summary
Kame-Sen’nin puts out the fire on Mt. Frypan, with the Kamehameha. Lord Pilaf summons Shenlong, but Oolong wishes for a pair of panties instead. Seeing the full moon, Goku transforms into a giant ape, defeating Pilaf and nearly killing his friends. Goku heads to Kame-Sen’nin’s for training.
