Whis Symbol Gi[2][3] is a Gi worn by Goku during and after his training under Whis.

Overview[]

The Whis Symbol Gi's design is partially based on Goku's Turtle School Uniform though instead of the dobok-like top he usually wears; it has a more traditional dogi in a somewhat lighter shade of orange that lacks an inner shirt. He has a smaller obi tied at his left hip, longer wristbands, and blue strapped boots with a black toe cap and heel. Though originally created by Whis the gi initially lacked a kanji, but while sparring with Goku and Vegeta on Beerus' Planet, Whis playfully signed the front of the gi with his symbol showing off his superior speed. The symbol is actually Whis' signature and was drawn using a permanent marker. Whis also did the same to Vegeta's Battle Armor.

Usage[]

Goku wore the gi during his training under Whis and during his confrontation with the revived Frieza in the Golden Frieza Saga of Dragon Ball Super.

Goku also wore this gi during the Tournament of Destroyers in Dragon Ball Super. After the competition, Goku returned to wearing his regular outfit.

Film Appearances[]

The Whis Symbol Gi made its original debut in Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’. Like in the anime, Goku wears the Gi while training under Whis, during which Whis uses his speed while sparring with both Vegeta and Goku, to sign their clothes with a permanent marker and Goku later wears the Whis Symbol Gi during his battle with the resurrected Frieza.

Variations[]

  • Whis Symbol Gi (Mecha) - A variation of the Whis Symbol Gi modelled off Goku's Whis Symbol Gi by Bulma for Mecha Goku in Dragon Ball Fusions. It is basically a metallic version of the Whis Symbol Gi worn by Mecha Goku. In base form, Mecha Goku's Whis Symbol Gi is silver, while in his Metal Super Saiyan form, it is gold.
  • Whis Symbol Gi (Capsule Corporation) - A variant of the Whis Symbol Gi which features the Capsule Corporation's CC logo instead of Whis' signature and a blue undershirt, as well as the belt being tied in the middle of his waist instead of to the left. Worn by Goku in Dragon Ball Heroes. In the Universe Creation Saga, the blue portions of this outfit were changed to black.

Video Game Appearances[]

In Xenoverse, it is named Whis Symbol Gi where it appears as an outfit for the Future Warrior as part of the Resurrection ‘F’ Pack DLC along with Vegeta's Whis Symbol Battle Suit.

In Dragon Ball Fusions, Mecha Goku wears its variation of the Whis Symbol Gi, which Bulma modelled after Goku's. Additionally, Tekka can purchase it at the Clothing Shop in Satan City after recruiting Goku (DBS) to Tekka's Team. It can also be worn by Tekka's EX-Fusions.

In Xenoverse 2, the Whis Symbol Gi returns as clothing options for the Future Warrior which can be obtained by transferring it over from Xenoverse or its pieces can be obtained in Parallel Quest 76: "Eternal Rival". Due to the lack of an inner shirt, a bra-like top appears when it is worn by females in both games.

In FighterZ the Whis Gi appears as a lobby characters, titled Goku (Whis Gi) and Vegeta (Whis Gi) respectively.
