Bandai Hybrid Action Series Vegetto

Bandai Hybrid Action Series Vegetto

  • Hybrid Action series
  • Release date: 2007

Bandai's "Hybrid Action" series is likely the absolute best aside from Unifive's Posing series in terms of complete articulation. This series features figures with extreme detail yet allows for a nice repertoire of poses to be done. Articulation plays a large role when it comes to basic scale action figures and is likely a great differentiating factor amongst the versatility of specific collectibles. In this case, the Hybrid Action Vegito figure is quite a great addition to anyone interested in high levels of articulation. This specific piece was released in July, 2007. Depicted with a serious expression, the highly articulated figure comes with many bends and turns, being quite easy to pose at the joints as well as having circular rotations. The figure is able to be posed in numerous positions, similar to Unifive's Posing series, but at a slightly larger scale. Along with this versatility, another interesting feature to note is the additional pair of inter-changeable hands that come in the packaging. This allows for different postures and overall stances. The figure has over 20 points of articulation and comes complete with a stand and base. The specific Vegito piece stands at approximately 5 inches. He is designated as "Vegetto" on the packaging front. Pieces included in the Hybrid Action collection are Vegito, Kid Buu, Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta, Super Saiyan 4 Goku, Future Trunks, Bardock, Vegeta, Perfect Cell, Super Saiyan Broly, Super Saiyan Gotenks, Super Saiyan Teen Gohan, Super Saiyan Future Trunks, Goku, adult Gohan, Super Saiyan 3 Goku, Goku (GT), Majin Buu, Super Saiyan Vegeta, Super Saiyan Goku, Super Saiyan Gogeta, Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks, Piccolo, and Super Saiyan Vegito.

The articulation is limited, allowing for movement for the arms albeit having almost-immobile legs. With the minor articulation flaws, this figure remains one of Super Saiyan Vegito’s unique pieces to be manufactured at a 5-inch scale by Irwin, the actual first model being the AB version of this same piece. The box mockup has green and blue aura as the background. Pieces included in this series 5 set are Tapion, Super Saiyan Vegito, Super Saiyan Gohan, Kid Trunks, Vegeta, Kid Goten, and Piccolo. This bootleg large-scale giant figure is an SBC re-size. The pieces included in the set are essentially recolors and are re-sized but are essentially the same SBC pieces in their construct and mold. Super Saiyan Vegito is one of many pieces that were released in this large-scale giant format. The set has a backboard with red coloring and images of the hero characters as well as the "Dragoon Ball GT" logo, although this is erroneous as Vegito is a Dragon Ball Z character. This piece also comes with three larger Dragon Balls in the packaging.

SBC Vegito Vol. 22 Chinese variant

  • Super Battle Collection
  • Release date: Unknown

The Super Battle Collection was repacked and re-released with brand new packaging design although the figures remained the same. Originally released in 1997, this more recent variant of the Vegito remains the same aside from the new packaging scheme. The figure still comes with the detached upper gi which can easily be equipped. However, this time, the gi is on the opposite side of the packaging. This is an easy way to determine the difference between the piece. Additionally, the image of Vegito posing on the box front has been inverted and is now facing the opposite direction. This is the vol. 22 piece but is now made available by a Chinese manufacturer. The set is still volume 22 although the repack release date is altered. All initial SBC pieces were released with a similar packaging, having a square box design with flaps, allowing for the figure to be removed from the packaging and easily placed back into it without damaging the box itself. This bootleg variant is unique due to the Bandai logo being removed entirely from the packaging front. Aside from this, the piece is a very close replica of the previous releases.

Vegito AF alternate a

Vegito "what-if" scenario series figure

  • What-If Scenario series
  • Release date: Unknown

A most recent release has constituted Vegito along with many other characters in the same set, which are seemingly non-canon to the series universe. This figure is unlike any other previous Vegito figures as it holds a silver hue for the hair itself and has a blue and green gi. Additionally, the eyes are all-red with a furious touch and his hair strands are slightly sharper and longer. Unlike any previous releases, however, there is a Western Supreme Kai included in this set as a stand-alone piece offered by neither of the aforementioned companies. Most of the pieces in this set remain "what-if" scenario additions, which are comprised of Saiyan characters with odd Super Saiyan transformations. The only other character portrayed in a canon fashion in this set is Broly himself, who appears in his pre-transformed mid-transformation state with shiny greenish-blueish hair. Pieces included in this 12 cm set with bases and who are non-canon by their appearance are Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta (Vegeta skipped this level in canon and progressed directly to level 4), Super Vegito (with silver hair), Goku (with intricate non-canon clothing), and Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta (with silver fur and silver hair). The figurines come with miniature transparent bases to stand on (engraved with a symbol stating AF), which add congruence to the overall set as a whole.

DBKai Ultimate Series Vegito figurine Variant with foil card

  • DBKai Ultimate Series
  • Release date: Unknown

This is a re-release of the Ultimate Figure Collection Vegito piece offered by Bandai and Jakks Pacific. This piece is very similar in its construct and design, aside from having a less accurate paint job. Additionally, the packaging features a Dragon Ball Kai logo as opposed to the more precise Dragon Ball Z logo, which in this case makes the labeling for the piece rather erroneous. There are two different variants of this Vegito piece available. The packaging and contents make for the primary differences. This version comes with a specially enhanced foil trading card, additional inter-changeable arms and a Super Saiyan head as well as a Dragon Ball as accessories. The packaging top featuring the Dragon Ball Kai logo distinctly has the star on the "Dragon Ball Kai" phrase. The future variant would not hold this same logo. Additionally, this version comes with the foil trading card while the next one would not. Also available in this Dragon Ball Kai packaging set with foil cards are the following characters: Piccolo, Super Saiyan 3 Goku, Super Saiyan 4 Goku, Vegeta (Saiyan Saga), Vegeta (Frieza Saga), Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta (GT), Super Saiyan Future Trunks, 2 variants of Goku, and Super Saiyan Gogeta (Movie).

Mexican manufacturer produced Super Saiyan Vegito figure

  • Dragon Ball Z Series
  • Release date: Unknown

This hard-to-find model was sculpted by a Mexican Manufacturer. The actual mold is quite unique and unlike other models, as many and most of the bases are just a redone instrumentation of other figures and/or just plain bootlegs of other sculpts. This one, however, is a new model in and of itself and was sculpted and sold as is. The paint job isn't particularly brilliant but it is unique. Standing at approximately 5 inches tall, this specific model is rather well-crafted and stands out amongst numerous others imported from these Mexican Manufacturers. Super Saiyan Vegito is seen wearing his blue gi and holds a battle scream as his expression.
