Vegeta, Saiyan Prince is a what-if saga in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai.
Story[]
The story starts with Goku and Vegeta's fight in the Saiyan Saga, however, it has an alternate outcome with Vegeta killing Goku. Krillin then tries to defeat Vegeta but to no avail. Gohan then arrives and fights Vegeta. The Saiyan prince then defeats Gohan. Yajirobe then tries to kill Vegeta with a sneak attack which Vegeta is aware of. Vegeta likes Yajirobe's style and asks him to join him. Yajirobe says no due to him killing his previous soldier, Nappa. Vegeta is enraged at him mentioning Nappa in such a way and becomes a Super Saiyan.

Trivia[]
- In this What-if, Vegeta is shown to be enraged whenever somebody disrespects Nappa and mentions Vegeta killing him, however, in the manga and anime, Vegeta does not care about the fact he killed Nappa.
- However in this What-if seems to suggest Vegeta was conflicted about Nappa's death as it is implied his killing of Nappa here was more of a mercy killing and/or that he saw Nappa as more of a comrade, indicating this Vegeta was capable of feeling compassion for others which ironically is in line with S-Cell concept as the more gentle in spirit a Saiyan is, the more S-Cells they can accumulate by getting stronger thus explaining how Vegeta could achieve Super Saiyan so early as he lacked the cold-heartedness the main series Vegeta had at that time which is believed to be why Goku was able to achieve it before Vegeta in the main series, as the Saiyan Prince was convinced that a Saiyan must be ruthless to achieve it as shown by his dying words to Goku during the Frieza Saga, yet Goku managed to achieved it because of his gentle-heartedness (with Vegeta following suit only after he entered into a relationship with Bulma and fathered Trunks).
- In the Saiyan Saga, Vegeta's power level was about 18,000. Becoming a Super Saiyan (which increases a Saiyan's power by 50 times) at that point in the series would have increased that to 900,000. That would have been enough to easily overpower Frieza in his first form (as well as any of his subordinates), but much weaker than his second form.
- However, this Vegeta may be more powerful is as he is able to overpower Goku, Gohan, and Krillin unlike his main series counterpart.
- Chiaotzu never said "please" when he died.
- After Piccolo sacrificed himself, his body and clothes are undamaged.
- This What-if scenario isn't the only time Saiyan Saga Vegeta is shown achieving Super Saiyan, as some games like the Xenoverse series feature scenarios where Saiyan Saga Vegeta can go Super Saiyan.
