Dark Seeker Kotsu.

Howdy, fellow Wikians! Welcome to the second installment of our Featured Wikian blog series, though I could say the first installment for this generation of users. But that's kind of irrelevant. Recently, I chatted with Dark Seeker Kotsu, our Featured Wikian for July 2014! You can see the interview below.

ME: Tell us a little bit about yourself.

KOTSU: I'm a pretty average eighteen-year-old guy from the Bay Area (California). I'm a big gamer, an anime fan, and I like mostly rock music and original soundtracks. When I'm not on the wiki, I enjoy hiking, practicing guitar, playing football, and doing whatever looks fun to me, even if it's kinda crazy.

ME: How did you discover Dragon Ball Wiki?

KOTSU: Well, when I was littler, I used to look up Dragon Ball information, but back then I hadn't noticed there was a community part of wikis as well. When I got older (about fourteen), I first noticed community in the Legend of Zelda Wiki and joined a fanon wiki for a video game I played a lot at the time. A year after that, when no one on the wiki knew Dragon Ball, I decided there had to be one for the series and came searching over here. This led to me seeing there was a chat and going on it, where I met Dinky, the first of my buddies I made on here.

ME: You're very involved in the social side of the wiki. What's your favorite thing about this community?

KOTSU: I really like how wide a range of Dragon Ball fans there are on this site. It's nice to meet people who are both different than me, but have shared hobbies and interests, and I think it's cool to be able to connect with fellow fans from all parts of the world. Generally speaking, we also have a lot of very likable users and it's easy to befriend and communicate with them.

ME: What would you like to see implemented on Dragon Ball Wiki that isn't already?

KOTSU: Some wikis have an automatically refreshing wiki activity page, which I think would be quite helpful. It's easier to check quickly, and my laptop won't freeze up for a second while it processes my request to refresh the page; it also would make it easier for people to keep an eye on potential edit wars, I believe.

ME: Although you're not much of an editor, do you have any tips for making a positive contribution to the wiki?

KOTSU: If your edit is reverted or changed, don't get discouraged or angry, and remember that approaching people in a civil manner usually works out better for you than edit warring!

ME: Last question. What has been your greatest accomplishment while on the wiki?

KOTSU: Well, I could give a generic response and say becoming admin, because I am proud of that! But I think the thing I like best and am most proud of on the wiki is that I've gotten to know so many people, so I've formed many wonderful friendships. I really couldn't have done any of this without them by my side!

Let's all give a big hand to Dark Seeker Kotsu! Congratulations on being the Featured Wikian for the month of July; I can certainly agree with why you received the most votes! In the comments below, you may congratulate the Californian yourself and/or begin the nomination process for next month's Featured Wikian. The nomination process will be from today, 20 July, 2014, to the end of the month, 31 July, 2014. Remember that the maximum number of nominations per user is four (each with a summary of why), and Kotsu cannot be nominated again for another six months. — N (tc)
