Hiiiii, fellow Wikians! For those of you who don't know me, I'm November Blue, but I'm better known as (and prefer) Koukishi. I was a very frequent editor on the wiki about two years ago, and then I mysteriously disappeared until... well, a week ago.
Anyways, when I was active here, I started a Dragon Ball-style "Featured Wikian" segment on the wiki, a concept I borrowed heavily from Community Central. If you're unfamiliar with Central's "Featured Wikian" blog, it's designed to spotlight users who put a lot of hard work into making Wikia great. Sadly, I only got to announce one Wikian before my disappearance. But, that's all in the past! Since it was (and continues to be) such a huge success over there, I thought, "Why not have our own?" The regulations will be largely the same from when we last did this, but I'm sure there are plenty of users who don't know said regulations. That being said, here's how it'll work:
- The Selection: This is a community project. For a user to be selected, someone (either the user themselves or a third party) must nominate them. To do this, they merely have to give the user's name and write a brief summary as to why that user should be the featured Wikian that month. This is done in the comments of this and subsequent blog posts. You can nominate up to four users each month. Whichever user has the most votes at the end of the month will (possibly) be the featured Wikian of the following month.
- The Interview: Like Central does, the user will be notified that they've been selected as the featured Wikian of whichever month they won the most votes. If they accept this, they will have an interview with me over the wiki's chat or some other form of messaging service. The interview will consist of approximately 5-7 questions about the user. The majority of the questions will be recycled every interview, but a few will be user-specific, as to add a bit of variety to each interview.
- The Blog Post: Once the interview between the user and I has been completed, I shall post it on a blog post within a few days, along with a bit of background on the user. At this point, users can congratulate the user on being the featured Wikian of that month, either via chat, talk pages, or the comments section. They may also begin nominations for the next month's featured Wikian in the comments (as previously states). The process is then repeated for the next month, and so on and so forth.
