Since I've been getting quite a bit of requests for how to get Chat Hacks, here is the walkthrough.

What are Chat Hacks?

Chat Hacks aren't hacks at all, but simply extra functions. With Chat Hacks, you can set ping phrases and clear the window of chat messages, among some other, smaller things. For example, if someone says your name, your computer will make a 'ping' sound, and highlight your name in red. With the 'Clear' button, you can clear the current messages, which can be a pain as they cause the long scroll bar. This is faster and doesn't create the Welcome Message that happens when you refresh the page, which is also nicer for other Users.

Is that ALL that I can do?

No, there's some other stuff. RuneScape Wiki has a nice page for that.

Will this work on all Wiki's?

So how do I get them?

Follow these instructions:

Go to Community Central Wiki.

Create the page User:YOURUSERNAME/global.js - for example, mine is User:Super Saiyan 7 Somebody/global.js

Your address bar should say:

Type in it (or copy/paste) exactly: importScriptPage('User:Monchoman45/ChatHacks.js', 'c');

Click 'Publish'.

Depending on what browser you use, you will have to:

Internet Explorer: hold down the Ctrl key and click the Refresh or Reload button, or press Ctrl+F5.
Firefox: hold down the Shift key while clicking Reload; alternatively press Ctrl+F5 or Ctrl-Shift-R.
Opera users have to clear their caches through Tools→Preferences.
Konqueror and Safari users can just click the Reload button.
Chrome: press Ctrl+F5 or Shift+F5.

For some Users, this may not work at first and you will have to wait for a while for it to kick in.

Now, this usually only works if you click the chat button on your Userpage, so make sure to do it from there.

Oh yes, might as well as point this out - if you are currently in chat when you set up your Chat Hacks, you'll have to leave chat, then do the green text stuff, then re-enter chat (remember, Userpage).

Update - How will I know if I got them?

If your chat hacks succeeded, it should tell you (when you enter chat): "~Chat Hacks Initialized.~", and there should be two buttons on the far right of the box you type messages into: 'AFK' and 'Clear'.
