Toei and Dragon Ball is not that good combination anymore. Toei has treated Dragon Ball recently like it's trash and doesn't see it as the most iconic anime series in the world, not in just Japan. I know Toei main cares about their Japanese audience but that doesn't excuse the fact that they should put effort into their work I'm not just blabbing about Dragon Ball Super, other things Dragon Ball related.

First off, I have to talk about Dragon Ball Super. Dragon Ball Super is a new series in over 18 years since Dragon Ball GT. When it was first announced, it got people talking. When Dragon Ball Super first aired, you can try to figure out that Toei was putting time into it and trying to make Dragon Ball Super a bigger deal. However, as time passed, you can see that Toei has put less effort into the episodes and gave not mainly the West but the Japanese audience low quality episodes and also drawn out. There are good animated and nicely drawn shots in some episodes but overall, it's completely bad. Fans can draw these characters better than the people who actually work on the series.

Dragon Ball Super is becoming joke as it continues. Before Dragon Ball Super aired, the expectations were beyond imagining but Toei is showing us that it's for promotional purposes. They're rushing this series out. One problem Super has is redoing incredible movies. They are trashing what Toriyama himself has done. Changing things like changing the location of Bulma's party, Beerus' character, and other things that I cannot think of right now. When the Champa arc or saga arrives, i expect the series to be better. We are getting new content after episode 27 of Dragon Ball Super so that's a plus.

Another thing I want to go off about is Dragon Ball Kai or Dragon Ball Z Kai. Dragon Ball Kai was suppose to follow the manga. Most of the anime does do this but some scenes and characters do not belong. For example, Gregory. Gregory is not in the manga and not in Battle of Gods. That's completely going against what you're promoting. The anime filler Hell is in Dragon Ball Kai. That's never seen in the manga. In Dragon Ball Super, there's a new Hell, Earth's Hell, which is Toriyama's Hell but it goes against Dragon Ball Kai's Hell which is suppose to follow the manga. Also, the kept the same art and animation from the '90's. You're making a remastered version of a series you've done before. It wouldn't hurt it Toei just redid it with a newer animation style like the one we have not but thinking about it, it would have been horrendous if Toei didn't put effort into it. I can understand if they make fights longer so it can fit the time they need but adding characters that shouldn't be there is completely going against what you're promoting. We may not get another "Kai", but I want a series that follows the manga exactly, no Gregory, no filler Hell scenes, no Mr. Satan's pupils, etc., they're not in the manga.

Toei Animation needs to see what Dragon Ball really is and not see it as a money receiver. Dragon Ball brings money, there's no question about it. They need to start caring about Dragon Ball like they're fans of the series. They aren't seeing it as their child, like they'll care for it. I didn't want to make this comparison but Madhouse truly cares about One Punch Man. They have spectacular animation and art every episode and sticks with the manga. Toei isn't showing us they care but they need to.
