(Attempt at a...) Dragon Ball Theory: Dragon Ball Writers aren't friends with numbers.

...Here I am....trying to make a theory......this may end badly. LOL!

It's about Broly.

.....And Goku.

  • Deep breath*

While reading through the Broly page, I realized that Dragon Ball CANNOT get height correct. Here is an example:

In Base Form, they say that Broly is 7 foot, 7 inches tall. IN BASE FORM.

There is estimated to be only around 70 men in North America to be 7 foot or taller. It is EXTREMELY rare, to say the least.

As for Goku:

They say that he is 5 foot, 9 inches tall by the end of Dragon Ball. Now, I know that when Dragon Ball ended, Goku was still a kid. Only being 16 years old. The average boy has a major growth spurts between 10 to 15 years of age. And they usually stop growing in general by age 16, only looking fully grown by age 18. Now, I know he's a Saiyan, and Saiyans don't age as fast as humans, but Goku was already 5'9". Giving leeway due to Goku being 16 at Dragon Ball's end, he could have grown a few fractions of an inch by the time of Dragon Ball Z, rounding it up to 5'10".

The National Center for Health Statistics did a study on the average height in males. This is what they had to say:

"The average height for men has been tracked over the years and has been increasing. Looking at the broad average across the United States, the National Center for Health Statistics has reported that the average height for an adult male is 69.1 inches (175.4 centimeters), or roughly 5 feet 9 inches."

(This is as of August 7, 2019)

Goku checks out, but Broly still doesn't.

Exhibit A:

Their height seems to be a bit short for a 2 foot difference.

If this were in real life, one of the two would be HORRIBLY miss-proportionate.

I know this is an Anime, and you can't take much stock in proportions...but...just imagine.

This...

Would look like this....

I title this hypothesis...."Miss-Proportioned Lamb Sauce".

As I continued watching Dragon Ball Z: Broly The Legendary Super Saiyan and Dragon Ball Super: Broly (The Wiki lists DBS Broly as the same height as DBZ Broly), I realized something. ...They can't keep any height difference straight.

Exhibit B:

Frieza. Here, he only looks to come up to the bottom of Broly's rib cage.

According to the Wiki...

Frieza is 5 foot, 2 inches tall in his Final Form.

If that's right, then these are VERY off. I have a real life example.

I am the exact height of Final Form Frieza (5'2"), and my brother is the exact height of Goku (5'9-10"). Yes, there may be occasional role playing in our house. LOL! But that's beside the point. I come up to his chin. And as shown above, Frieza doesn't even reach Son-Kun's collar bone.

If Frieza is that much shorter than Goku, and he comes up to Broly's rib cage, than that means that Kakarot would come up to Broly's mouth. In Exhibit A, Goku only comes up to Broly's collar bone.

And Vegeta...

He is 5 foot, 5 inches tall.

Exhibit C:

He shouldn't be THAT tall, right? He should only come to Goku's mouth.

Yet, there he is. With that confused scowl, reaching the eye of Kakarot.

Bulma...

Is 5 foot, 5 inches tall, as well. But she has a centimeter on her husband.

That seems like a bit of over kill. They would be considered the same height unless you live in Canada, or something.

Dipper Pines would agree. They should practically be the same height.

But, then I saw this.

Mr. Troll doll is, at the least, 1 inch taller than Bloomers.

I'm sure I could put trunks into this, but I think that I've made enough comparisons.

While there may be several errors in height difference, Dragon Ball is still a good quality show. (Minus the first few episodes of Super. LOL! I heard those looked ROUGH! XD)

I hope that you all enjoyed reading this as much as I did making it. You learn a lot when you write these. Thanks for reading, and my apologies for dragging this out for so long.

You know, I wonder if they count their hair when figuring the height.

Oof. That already sounds like a reach. Okay, lets pull this thing together!

Alright! This is something that I have noticed every time that I watch Dragon Ball Super: Broly. We all remember that scene right before the battle began.

Broly growling, grunting, and so angry he was shaking.

Only before charging at Vegeta.

Now this is where my idea comes into play. Why was he so t'd off to begin with?

He didn't know these people, and as seen by his personality in earlier scenes, something has to cause him to flip out. I did a little research and used my common sense from personal experiences and the results may be shocking. The arrows point straight to him being an Empath, or a Super Sensitive person. Now, I can see you rolling your eyes right now, thinking, "Super Sensitive? What kind of weakling snowflake do you think he IS?!" But just stick with me here. Super Sensitive doesn't just mean that it's easy to hurt your feelings or that you need to be coddled. It means that you can pick up on the body language of others, whether you realize or not, and it can change easily change your mood.

Exhibit A

Bah. Super Sensitives commonly enjoy being in nature, and like animals. It's easy to relax and unwind. They like to have their alone time, and animals are good companions because they do not have such complex emotions as humans...or Saiyans.

So when you hear Cheelai saying that it's sad that his only friend was an animal, she should be informed that he liked it that way. Another thing to be noted, was when he told them his Bah story, he defended his father. Another trait of Empaths. To forgive, but not forget. Super sensitives have a strong sense of love. (If you drown the comments full of Broly x Cheelai, my hand will come through the screen and punch ya. XD) He loves his Dad, and will try with all of his might to protect the ones close to him.

Exhibit B

Empaths are good listeners, but have a tendency to daydream and lose interest if a conversation doesn't intrigue them. Especially when that Hoveround looks so awesome.

It is also common for them to be socially awkward, and easily overwhelmed by a lot of people, loud noises, or if they are just in an uncomfortable place in general.

They don't like it when friends are involved in conflict at all, and WILL break up the fight, even if it means putting themselves in the middle of it. We know that Broly doesn't like fighting. We heard it in the scene with the Bah story when Cheelai asked.

He knows where this is going.

People are often drawn to Super Sensitives, because they can tell that they are kind aren't judgey.

Also, as their nervous system is extremely in tune with their mind, they have a tendency to eat most when they are alone, or with close friends in a quiet and in a quiet place.

You have at them Quaker Chewy Dipps, Broly. Granola is good for ye.

It is also common for them to be insomniacs.

I blame Kakarot!

Whoops! THAT IS NON-CANON! Let me try to pull this gravy train with biscuit wheels back on to the platter! Heeyup! Aaaand we're back!

Exhibit C

Putting it simply...they are CLINGY! They don't let go of thing easily. The pelt, for example. It holds a sentimental connection to his friend, Bah. And even though Bah didn't want to play with him anymore, he still wears it. Note that thing is, like, 40 years old. As for why he was so angry when he saw Vegeta. He was angry for his Dad. His father was furious, and he was soaking it up like a sponge. When pushed into the severe rage, he charged at Vegeta to find a way to make the mad go away. As said above, they do not like conflict and WILL stop it. Even if it's a simple argument, in can drive someone like Broly mad. Being Super Sensitive is a God-given gift, and can be linked to genetics. Also, it can be linked to hormones, but I ain't gettin' into that.

I hope you all enjoyed this quick dive into the minutia of this. If anyone has a request for another simple theory, just lemme know and I'll see what I can do!

Attempting a Doragon Bōru Theory: The power of Saiyan forms, according to Fenn

I have done some research, and read a lot of theories.

About 8 months ago I requested @RustlingAlarm57 and @Ya Boi King Kai 's multipliers. I did some looking into it back then, and read about them again.

In my analysis of these multipliers of some Users I know have put in their effort studying up on this, I have made it to a conclusion.

I won't go into the large details, but from what I have gathered, what has determined the powers of these forms were their feats and what other characters have stated of it. People believe that Perfect Cell can destroy a Solar System due to what he said, people believe that Goku in his Super Saiyan God Form can destroy the Universe due to a punch with Beerus that shook the fabric of space, if memory serves.

However, as anticlimactic as it may be, I can not seem to boil down these forms to an exact. Sometimes the forms are stronger than they should be, and sometimes they are weaker, as shown by Vegeta when he was only in Super Vegeta 2, yet his power had surpassed that of Goku's at the time.

And Super Baby Vegeta is a whole nother can of worms with his power scaling.

After thinking about this, listening to everyone's wonderful theories and thoughts, and looking into some of this myself, there is only one true theory of the power scaling that I can believe.

Oozaru is of course a X10 Multiplier.

Super Saiyan is X50, as it was stated by Toriyama in an interview for the Dragon Ball Super Exciting Guide. I am unsure if he stated the powers of the other Forms in that interview or not, as I do not have that Guide on hand, but Super Saiyan is a definite X50 Multiplier.

(Side-Note: Dragon Ball - Super Exciting Guide. Not Dragon Ball Super: Exciting Guide. Just a quick note in case anyone is unfamiliar with it. \(>U<)/ )

However, this is really all that I could truly ascertain of these Forms. As I have stated many times in my past theories, Toriyama-sensei is not friends with numbers. At all. Be it officially stated height issues, year problems, etc., he can never seem to peg these things perfectly, as expected from a series that debuted new chapters on a basis of every couple of weeks.

In conclusion, after heavy thought on this subject, I believe that these Forms are however strong they need to be, at the time. Such as stated above when I said that Vegeta was only a Super Saiyan (Super Vegeta) 2, yet he was able to surpass the power of Goku's Super Saiyan 3 Form, which is, according to Rusty's Multi, a X8 boost. Some of you may be unhappy with the result I have deduced, and that is okay. Everyone is free to their opinions and beliefs. I believe that Super Saiyan 4 and Super Saiyan God/Super Saiyan Blue (Please don't shoot me) are roughly on the same scale, as they both are the full power of the character (Goku, Vegeta, etc.) within that continuity.

Toriyama-sensei cannot keep up with the multis very well, so we fans fill in the blanks. The Multiverse and story of Dragon Ball is vast, and there are a lot of things that do not get explained. It is something I love so much about the Dragon Ball series. To Toriyama-sensei, nothing is non-canon. Everything happens in it's own continuity. As a matter of fact, one of the only people in the production to ever use the term non-canon, was Christopher R. Sabat, the voice of Vegeta, Piccolo, Mr. Popo, etc. and Voice Director of many of the episodes. It is a way to make those who love GT more than Super not feel left out, and a way for those who love the OG Dragon Ball Z Movies to not feel like it never happened. Instead of feeling like the part of the series was simply thrown out for being outdated, fans can celebrate the fact it is still a strong part of the series. But, alas. I have gotten off track.

In the end, any Form can be as strong or weak as the writer wants. There is no concrete proof of certain Forms' Multipliers, to be honest. There are hints sprinkled throughout the series, and comparisons are quite effective, but it is still not officially stated by the Author himself, which, in my honest opinion, is what would be considered as true. For all we know, we could wake up tomorrow and flip on our device to see in our feed that Toriyama-sensei has announced the Multiplier of Super Saiyan 4 being X13,000,000 and Super Saiyan Blue only having a Multiplier of, like, X1,000. Boy, that would actually be a rather depressing Multi, as Blue is one of my favorite forms because it reminds me of cotton candy. And.....blue is one of my favorite colors....but....yeah. Cotton candy.

I suppose this post seems a little strange, as it is titled "The Power of Saiyan Forms", though I really did not have any real multi in this post. Simply put, the power of a Form is only limited to one's will and the Author's imagination. As said before, this is only my opinion, and I still dig seeing everyone else's multiplier posts. Thank you for reading this long-winded post, and I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I have writing it! Domo arigato gozaimasu!

(づ≧∀≦)づ.

(A/N: This is where I got some of the Multiplier information from. I am unsure whether the Users who posted here have since reformed their Multis, or if they have stayed the same, but I just wanted to bring this here for reference.)
