Mercenary Tao uses this attack in attempt to kill Goku. Tao jumps up into the air to avoid being caught in the explosion, but Goku kicks the grenade up to Tao, where he is seemingly killed in the blast. However, it is later revealed that Tao survives and is rebuilt as "Cyborg Tao".

Film Appearances

In Dragon Ball: Mystical Adventure, General Tao uses something similar of the sort when he is overpowered by Goku, Arale Norimaki and the Gatchans. He begs for mercy, then brings out a capsule with a flying motorcycle and offers to go back with Goku to apologize to everyone. While Goku is distracted, Tao snatches the Four-Star Dragon Ball and flies off, launching missiles at his enemies. However, Goku kicks the missiles to the sky and Arale headbutts it back to Tao, presumably killing Tao.

Trivia

  • Tao's begging is derived from the Japanese form of etiquette known as Dogeza.
  • Tao's actions before conducting the technique have some similarity to that of Dr. Wily from the Mega Man games whenever defeated. Coincidentally, the episode this attack occurred in aired in Japan a few months before the release of the first Mega Man game.
