Trunks' blue hair

Trunks has either blue[8][9][10] or lavender hair color and his mother's blue eyes. He has his father's eye shape, facial features and tanned skin. Several characters, such as Goku, Krillin and Bulma, remark how much Trunks resembles Vegeta. For the majority of the Buu Saga, Present Trunks wears a dark green gi, an orange belt, orange wristbands and the same golden boots that Future Trunks wears, he also wears this in the movie, Bio-Broly. In the events of Broly - Second Coming, Trunks wears a light green long sleeve hoodie with a black short sleeve undershirt with a red collar, indigo blue denim shorts and his golden boots from his primary outfit. He later wears Maloja's necklace. In Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, Trunks wears overalls and a blue undershirt with maroon wristbands. At the end of Dragon Ball Z, Trunks now wears a black long-sleeved shirt, a golden vest, dark gray pants and the same golden boots that he wore as a child. Later, he wears a black sleeveless muscle shirt with a CAPSULE logo at the center of his shirt, gray pants and his boots from his childhood.

In Dragon Ball Super, Trunks wears a yellow jacket with a white undershirt, jeans, yellow boots, and maroon wristbands. During Bulma's birthday party, he wears a Hawaiian shirt with shorts and sunglasses.

In Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, since the movie takes place a year before the end of Dragon Ball Z, Trunks is now older. He's taller, and along with having blue hair, he also wears a purple vest, black shirt, blue jeans, and black shoes with red outlines.

In Dragon Ball GT, Trunks wears a black long-sleeved shirt with a blue bandana, brown leather gloves, a light tan blazer, white baggy short slacks, and now he wears brown boots. During the events of Baby Saga, where Baby possessed him until the events of the Shadow Dragon Saga, he is not seen wearing his light tan blazer. His hair is now purple instead of lavender.

Personality[]

Upon his introduction in the Majin Buu Saga, Trunks is shown to have a vastly different personality compared to his future timeline self, mainly owing to his peaceful upbringing. Compared to the serious and cautious Future Trunks, whose apocalyptic circumstances molded him into a warrior, Trunks is much more cocky, prideful, and laid-back as a whole.[11]

He greatly takes after Vegeta, inheriting his headstrong and competitive personality and believing him to be a hero, either despite or unaware of Vegeta's villainous past, and is very loving towards and protective of his family as a whole, not thinking twice about attacking Innocent Buu alongside Goten to save Vegeta. When finding out about Vegeta's death, he accuses Goku of being to scared to help despite Piccolo trying to explain that Vegeta had knocked Goku out prior. Like Vegeta, he also refuses to respect someone he does not like, assessing Goku as such and believing he is not as strong as his father, though he later gained more respect for Goku after witnessing his Super Saiyan 3 transformation and subsequent fight with Buu. He is also proud of his Saiyan heritage and believes that the Saiyans are the mightiest warrior race ever known. Despite his attitude, Trunks was also taught by Vegeta to be obedient and well-mannered, and admits he is afraid of his father's discipline when he misbehaves.

As Bulma's son and the heir to Capsule Corporation, Trunks is also quite spoiled, having been pampered due to his family's wealth. Like Bulma, he is highly intelligent for his age despite his childish personality, well-versed in the sciences thanks to his maternal side. In Dragon Ball Z: Bio-Broly, he teaches Goten about how biotechnology is based in genetic engineering and is used to create new Bio-Warriors from pre-existing cells (though he can't explain genetic engineering to Goten). However, he also shares Bulma's crass and vulgar tendencies, often taunting his enemies. In Dragon Ball Z: Broly - Second Coming and Bio-Broly, he taunts Broly and his clone Bio-Broly by mooning them (also flipping the bird at the latter) and using vulgar language.

Trunks shares Bulma's love for technology and, but has little interest in inheriting the family business, preferring to train rather than work. In Dragon Ball GT, while he is shown to be a capable president, he finds himself overwhelmed by work and escapes through his office window in the middle of his secretary's briefing. He possesses a tactical mind like his father and paternal grandfather, as demonstrated by his and Giru's deception of Dr. Myuu and his forces on planet M-2 during the Baby Saga.

He tends to be the ringleader of his and Goten's antics, leading him on due to being older and slightly stronger during childhood, but they are best friends and rivals nonetheless, with Goten's near-equivalent strength ensuring he was the only competitor Trunks fought seriously in the tournament's junior division, even forcing Trunks to use Super Saiyan when they initially agreed to stay in base form. They also fight well together, able to match the terrifying Bio-Broly with their teamwork. However, Trunks' arrogance, along with his and Goten's shared childishness, tends to sabotage their fusion Gotenks' battle performance, causing him to show off more often than he should.

While initially bewildered by his future self after meeting him in the "Future" Trunks Saga, Trunks quickly came to admire him, trying to emulate his cool attitude after becoming jealous that Mai was smitten with Future Trunks. When Future Trunks was sulking after another defeat from Goku Black, Trunks gave him a "pep talk" by berating him for moping around after one loss and trying to provoke him into fighting, demonstrating grit that resonated with Future Trunks and improved his resolve.

When his younger sister Bulla was born, Trunks was a bit disappointed because he wanted to have a brother to train with, but he had a change of heart when he first held her and became protective of her.

Trunks is shown to have an interest in girls, as he develops a crush on Mai as well as his attraction to her future counterpart. He is also shown to get jealous when she becomes infatuated ironically with his Future counterpart. But he later has the same reaction upon encountering Future Mai, though he and Mai eventually turn their attention back to each other. In Dragon Ball Fusions, he becomes attracted to Towa, unaware of her villainous nature and antagonistic relationship with his Time Patrol counterpart and surprised by her later betrayal. Conversely, he is weirded out by men flirting with him, becoming paralyzed with fear when Otokosuki makes passes at him during the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament, and noting that the atmosphere got colder when being hit on by General Blue in a Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 pre-battle interaction.
