"There...Take notes, that's a real Kamehameha!"
— Goku after unleashing the attack

True Kamehameha (本場のかめはめ波 Honba no Kamehameha) is a more powerful version of the Super Kamehameha used by Super Saiyan 3 Goku. It is slightly brighter than a regular Kamehameha.

The True Kamehameha blasts Kid Buu's arm

As he says "Get ready for the real deal!", Goku draws his hands to his right side. Then, he prepares the Super Kamehameha, but charges his Super Saiyan 3 energy within it, making it brighter and more powerful. Finally, Goku shouts "Kamehameha!" and fires the attack against the opponent, inflicting a massive amount of damage.

Usage and Power

Goku uses this attack against Kid Buu. When Kid Buu fires a Super Kamehameha at Goku, he blocks it and fires the True Kamehameha. Kid Buu manages to deflect it to the side, but loses his right hand and left arm in the process. Goku calls it the True Kamehameha when insulting Kid Buu, claiming Buu's Kamehameha is merely a cheap imitation.

While fighting Beerus on King Kai's Planet, Super Saiyan 3 Goku attempts to hit Beerus with his True Kamehameha twice, the first time Beerus easily blocks the attack with his finger, and the second time he simply dodges out of the way and gets behind Goku, causing the attack to blow a hole through King Kai's planet.

Goku also uses a similar powerful Kamehameha as a Super Saiyan 3 in the Dream 9 Toriko & One Piece & Dragon Ball Z Super Collaboration Special, in order to deal the final blow to the monster Akami.

The True Kamehameha in Raging Blast 2

Super Saiyan 3 Goku uses this Kamehameha in Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Battle 22. He uses a yellow version in Dragon Ball Z: The Legend and Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2. Super Saiyan 3 Goku uses a similar technique in the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi series, though it is called "Super Kamehameha", as one of his Blast 2 attacks. The technique was named True Kamehameha in the Raging Blast series and Dragon Ball Z For Kinect, where it appears as Super Saiyan 3 Goku's Ultimate Blast; in Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2, Goku performs the move similarly to Master Roshi's Original Kamehameha. In Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butōden, the technique appears under the name, "Super Saiyan 3 Kamehameha".

In Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi, in addition to being Super Saiyan 3 Goku's Ultimate Attack, the True Kamehameha is one of the Standard Hero's Ultimate Attacks, unlocked after completing the training with Super Janemba. Super Saiyan 3 Goku also uses this Kamehameha technique in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z.

  • Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta's crimson Galick Gun in the Raging Blast series and Super Saiyan 3 Broly's Gigantic Omega can be seen as counterparts to the True Kamehameha.
