"Treasure-Protecting God Statue" is not this article's official English name, it is used as there is currently no official translation.

The Treasure-Protecting God Statue (宝を守る神像 Takara Wo Mamoru Shinzō[1]) is a statue that protects the treasure in the Pirate Cave. It only appears in the anime.

Appearance

The statue's overall appearance resembles the Hindu goddess Kali.

General Blue Saga

Main article: General Blue Saga In the anime, when Krillin and Bulma got to the treasure room, the statue threw swords everywhere. Krillin got one out of the ground and hit the other swords with it until the statue was out of swords. Krillin then threw a sword at its face, defeating it. It was later revealed to be the actual location of the treasure, with a key being used to have the treasure exit its mouth. It is later seen collapsing into pieces along with the cave, with more of the treasure also being revealed to be inside the base of the statue. This also caused Bulma to recklessly try to get the treasure and nearly get killed from a rift developing between her and the statue.

Equipment

The swords the statue wields include at least four scimitars, a dao, a cutlass, a jian, and a katana.

Video Game Appearances

This statue is a boss in Dragon Ball: Origins 2. Like in the anime, Krillin must defeat it by using one of the statue's swords and hitting the other swords back at it.

Trivia

  • The statue resembles the Hindu God, Shiva.
