  • I mean, consider this.

He appears in Yo! Son Goku and his friends return! (special by Toriyama), and then in Battle of Gods and Broly (both scripts by Toriyama) they make it a point of mentioning Vegeta has a brother and that he just doesn't give a shit about him. But then in DBSuper he is nowhere to be mentioned or seen.

I  think it's clear Tarble is a thing, as far as Tori is concerned.

    • Tarble is mentioned by Nappa in DBSuper Broly. He was mentioned in BoG too. So he is canon.

    • It is mentioned in the Broly movie that Vegeta had a brother, but his name isn't mentioned nor if he survived. It is canon that Vegeta had a brother, but in any case it would not be Tarble, at least not as we saw him in the OVA.

    • All the movies written directly by Toriyama have reference to Vegeta’s brother and the OVA special has him in his entirety(honestly I think Tori has a thing for Saiyans and skinny green females) so unles he has fallen into the forgetful black hole he is still canon as he appeared.

    • I agree chrome, it’s like araki the author of jojo forgetting shit. The stuff is canon but he’s probably just forgotten by tori

    • Eh at this point canon and non-canon doesn't mean much, Dragon Ball is a big franchise with multiple series and most of the content and characters do not even come from the original author anymore, people come and go but the franchise keeps going on forever and this is the same for every manga and anime. Also in Japan the term non-canon does not even exist, every official character counts the same as everyone else and Tarble is 100% official.

It's never mattered except in the western world.

It matters everywhere to certain people, no one place is one way people are too different for that to happen.
