"The Hunt for Doctor Gero! Discover the Hidden Laboratory!" (追撃！ドクター・ゲロ…謎の研究所を探せ！ Tsuigeki! Dokutā Gero… Nazo no Kenkyūjo o Sagase!, lit. "Pursue Doctor Gero… The Search for the Mysterious Laboratory!") is the sixty-third episode of Dragon Ball Z Kai. This episode first aired in Japan on June 27, 2010. Its original American airdate was March 17, 2011.
As the dust settles, Android 20 is nowhere to be seen, and it is assumed that he plans to return to his laboratory to awaken Android 18 and Android 17; the two Androids causing havoc in Future Trunks' timeline.
Meanwhile, Future Trunks rescues his mother and young self, and berates Vegeta for failing to protect his family. Vegeta is not concerned with either his wife and infant son, and wants to find Android 20. Unfortunately, he is unable to find the android and goes back to the group. It is seen that Vegeta and Bulma have a rather rocky relationship, as she humiliates him in front of everyone when the baby cries as Vegeta tries to see his son; Bulma says that Trunks cries because he is scared of his father's face. She then reveals that Android 20 may actually be the androids' creator, Dr. Gero, who has seemingly converted himself into an android as well. The group then plans to find the lab and destroy the androids before Dr. Gero can activate them, but Vegeta calls the plan cowardly. Vegeta also sets off to find the lab, but with the intentions of fighting the androids as a demonstration of his power. Trunks leaves to stop his father. Everyone hears Trunks call Vegeta "father" and are confused. Piccolo finally unveils the truth of Trunks' origin to the rest of the group and that the boy is actually Trunks in the future. While Gohan and Krillin are shocked at the realization, Bulma is only relieved that Trunks will not look like his father as an adult.
While they search the mountains where Dr. Gero's lab is rumored to be located, Piccolo, Krillin and Tien Shinhan split up. Gohan takes Bulma, baby Trunks, and Yajirobe to their houses for safety. Meanwhile, Krillin is attacked by the doctor, but is spared when Gero senses Piccolo nearby and escapes.
- While scolding Trunks for not telling them what the androids look like, Vegeta's glove is missing in one frame.
- While this series was airing on Nicktoons this was the last episode to feature the Kenji Yamamoto music scores on the entire Nicktoons Network as the next episode had aired 2 months after Yamamoto's departure.
