The Descent (虎穴に入らずんば..., Koketsu ni Irazunba...; lit. "One Must Enter the Tiger's Den...") is the four hundred forty-eighth chapter of the Dragon Ball manga.

Summary

The chapter begins with Dabura charging the hidden fighters. Before anyone can react, he appears right in front of Kibito, and proceeds to destroy him with a single blast. While the others are shocked by how easily Dabura was killed, Dabura starts spitting. Shin tries to warn them about Dabura's spit, but it's too late, as the spit hits Krillin and Piccolo, turning them into statues.

Shin tells them that the only way to break the stone curse is to kill Dabura, which Goku is more than ready to do. Dabura gives them one final taunt, then flies back to Babidi's spaceship. Shin tries to warn Goku, Gohan, and Vegeta not to follow and charge right into their trap, but it's too late. Gohan and Goku have already taken off to save Krillin and Piccolo, and Vegeta, not being one for standing around, follows. Shin is left frustrated at their impulsiveness, but follows as well.

Once they're inside the ship, they're sealed in, and Shin tells them that the only way out now is to defeat Babidi. Vegeta just suggests that they can blow the ship up, but Shin warns them that that would risk awakening Majin Buu. Before the argument can continue further, Pui Pui enters the room, telling them that the only way they can proceed is to defeat him.
