Template:Episode infobox The Battle Ends is the twenty-sixth episode of the Saiyan Saga and the twenty sixth overall episode in the Saban dub of the Dragon Ball Z series.
Summary
After being hit with the Spirit Bomb, Vegeta falls to the ground. He appears to be dead, but gets back up and knocks Gohan out. He then sees that Gohan tail has grown back, so he grasps it with intentions of pulling it out, when Yajirobe, of all people, slices Vegeta straight through his back. Vegeta gets up and starts beating on Yajirobe, who tries to kiss up to Vegeta to spare his life. Goku telepathically tells Gohan to look at the fake moon, which he does. Just moments afterward, Vegeta remembers about Gohan, and runs back to his location, only to discover that the metamorphosis has already started. He tries to kill Gohan before he completes the metamorphosis, but has no luck. He pulls on Gohan's tail, but Gohan slams him into the earth. Gohan gets up and starts rampaging the area. Only when he hears his father's and Krillin's voices does he remember his mission and starts to attack Vegeta.

Gohan jumps at Vegeta, who fires a flurry of Ki waves at him. When Gohan recovers, he jumps at him again, but this time Vegeta launches a Destructo Disk-like attack that cuts Gohan's tail off. Gohan traps Vegeta with his body, and slams him into the earth. Gohan transforms back into a human, leaving Vegeta weaker than ever. Vegeta summons his space capsule to his location, startling the men examining it at the crash-site. The space capsule arrives, and Vegeta slowly crawls toward it, in embarrassment. Krillin also descends from where he lay with aspirations of stopping Vegeta.
Gohan is hit with a barrage of energy blasts from Vegeta
Krillin sees Yajirobe's katana on the ground, so he picks it up and continues toward Vegeta. Krillin raises the sword, and hurls it toward Vegeta. Moments before impact, Goku tells Krillin to spare Vegeta's life. He tells him to show him mercy, and that he admires Vegeta's Saiyan strength. Krillin reluctantly drops the sword, and is very unhappy. Goku thanks Krillin, while Vegeta promises to one day come back and kill them all. Vegeta flies off, leaving a whole sea of feelings and emotions amongst our heroes. King Kai hopes Goku knows what he's doing. Soon, Bulma, Chi-Chi, Korin, and Master Roshi arrive.

Trivia
- There is no next episode preview.
- The original Japanese version of the equivalent of this episode ended with Vegeta's ship leaving. Master Roshi and company didn't arrive until the next episode.
- In various shots of Yajirobe's sword, the number of yellow diamonds on the handle is inconsistent. This was not fixed in Dragon Ball Kai.
- This episode was not included on Pioneer's Saiyan conflict Box set, despite the fact it is part of the Saiyan Saga.
