Team Dodoria[1] is an elite platoon who works under Dodoria, one of Frieza's most esteemed underlings. They make their debut in the special Dragon Ball Z: Bardock - The Father of Goku.
Overview
Dodoria with his elites
Despite being an elite platoon within the Frieza Force, all four members of the squad (excluding their leader, Dodoria) are nameless characters. Their captain is credited on various film websites as the "Horned Gang Leader". His skin is colored orange, and he has horns and long brown hair. He bears a resemblance to Napple and Commander Zeeun (one of Lord Slug's subordinates). Another elite is a member of Appule's race who has amethyst-colored skin with gold specs. Another member is a green fish-like humanoid who appears to be of the same race as the brown-skinned Frieza Soldier and the grunts in Slug's army. The other member is a frog-like creature with a red head-crest.
Dodoria's Elite on Planet Meat just before attacking Bardock
These four accompany Dodoria to Planet Meat where, under Frieza's orders, they execute Bardock's squad (with the exception of Bardock, who during this time is resting in a Saiyan infirmary). When Bardock discovers his ravaged comrades he is assaulted by Dodoria's Elite, but manages to dominate the elite-class fighters. The Appule-like soldier fires several energy waves at Bardock, only to have his skull caved in. The fish-like humanoid soldier has his neck broken by Bardock and is used as a shield to defend from an oncoming Energy Wave from the captain. While Bardock is briefly distracted by his foresight, the captain knee strikes Bardock in the guts. The frog-like soldier takes hold of Bardock with a Full-Nelson while the captain rapidly punches the Saiyan. When Bardock recovers, he spins the frog-like soldier around and the captain accidentally punches a hole through his back. Bardock then launches a Full Power Energy Wave at the elites, killing both. However, soon after, Dodoria arrives to overpower Bardock, leaving him for dead.
Trivia
- The soldiers who fought Bardock when he tried to attack Frieza look very similar to the members of Dodoria's Elite, notably one of the last two soldiers holding Bardock in a headlock.
A group similar to Dodoria's Elite
- A group very similar to Dodoria's Elite can be seen among Paragus' soldiers behind Future Trunks in a scene of Dragon Ball Z: Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan.
- Dragon Garow Lee stated on Twitter that he is calling the unnamed horned team leader "Cranbo" and is using him in a new independent story he was working on.[2]
