The figure’s cardboard showcases Super Saiyan Vegeta as the main backdrop and depicts an image of Tapion on the top corner. Tapion is figure number 9 of the Super Guerriers Articule lineup.

SuperGuerriers AB Tapion 16inch b

Super Guerriers No.8 large-scale 16 inch Tapion figure

  • Super Guerriers No.8
  • Release date: 1996

AB Groupe has released this amazingly huge 16 inch Tapion as a part of its large-scale figure lineup. The figure is extremely large by height and width, placing a great deal of impression on the character’s hair and clothing. All the details remain intact, even the flowing scarf, clothing, boots, gloves, and Mohawk-styled spiked hair. His facial expression is that of serious determination. The figure's boxart showcases Super Saiyan Goku in front with a light blue and dark blue coloring pattern as the box design. The side panel of the box is detailed with black backdrop and reads “Super Guerriers.” This specific figure is No.8 of the large-scale releases.

Tapion 16inch b

Super Guerriers No.1 large-scale Tapion figure

  • Super Guerriers No.1 re-release
  • Release date: 1996

AB has re-released the same large-scale 16 inch Tapion as a part of its “Dragon Ball Z” lineup. The figure is extremely large by height and width, placing a great deal of impression on the character’s hair and clothing. All the details remain intact, even the gloves, boots, sword, and spiked hair. His facial expression is that of complete determination. The figure is noted as No.1 in the lineup on the boxart, which also showcases Goku's arm punching on the front. The box mockup itself is rather unique, allowing for an oval-shaped opening in the bubble as the midsection of the packaging to showcase the figure itself. This was one of the few figures in this scale to never be re-released by Irwin. Another oddity about this 16 inch figure which was originally released by AB toys was that there are two versions of this figure, this one being the even rarer "sound" version. Aside from the fact that the model is the same as the previous AB release, this one, oddly enough, plays a rather random tune as opposed to the one it's meant to in the Wrath of the Dragon movie.

Tapion Vegito 2pack AB

Super Guerriers 2-pack Tapion and Vegito figures

  • Super Guerriers Articules 2-packs
  • Release date: 1996

Released by AB Groupe, this is a re-release of the previous Tapion model at the basic figure height of 5 inches. As a part of the Super Guerriers Articules lineup, the packaging is very unique, much like other AB figures, encasing the figures in a unique midsection bubble whilst maintaining a strong solid backboard on both the top and bottom of the box. The figure’s cardboard showcases the Dragon Balls as the main backdrop. Also included here in the same packaging is a Super Saiyan Vegito figure, making it a unique 2-pack for any AB set collector.

On the packaging topside, Tapion is depicted at a close range along with an image Super Saiyan Vegeta beside him. His scarf is also seen flowing with the wind, his eyes are staring in one direction, and there is great detail in terms of his holstered sword, ocarina, straps, and spiked hair. The figurine’s facial expression is that of complete seriousness, depicting a silent but deadly warrior. Pieces included in this set, other than Tapion, are Super Saiyan 3 Goku, Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks, Majin Buu, Semi-Perfect Cell, Videl, and two versions of Adult Gohan (one Super Saiyan version and one basic version).

The Tapion comes with one arm gripped tightly in a fist in front of him and his scarf and clothing flowing with the wind. MegaHouse[]

May 2010 Tapion CapsuleNeo Megahouse

Capsule Neo Edition of the Movie Tapion figurine

  • Capsule Neo Edition of the Movie
  • Release date: 2010

MegaHouse has added to the Tapion collection through a Dragon Ball Kai Edition of the Movie set. Released in May, 2010, this Capsule Neo series included Tapion amongst other movie heavy hitters such as Super Saiyan Broly in a confident stance, Super Saiyan Broly charging up a fearsome blast, Bojack with extreme aura emanating around him, Gogeta standing firm, Kid Gohan with Icarus, and Super Saiyan Goku charging his Spirit Bomb attack. The figures come in medium-sized Dragon Balls, bringing together a complete set. The secret prize in the set included a few of Earth’s warriors creating a circle around Goku, which was obtained when all the other pieces are collected. The Tapion figure is modeled with distinct perfection, maintaining the silent determination of the valiant warrior Tapion as he plays his instrument, the ocarina, attempting to seal his enemy Hirudegarn. The ocarina is extremely well-designed and the impression of the character is on the mark. His scarf and clothing are seen flowing with the wind in a wonderfully detailed scenario. Another nice feature is the base, which appears to be a square ledge with cracks running across its exterior angles.

MegaHouse-Gold-Tapion

Kai Edition of the Movie Capsule Neo Tapion gold variant

  • Kai Capsule Neo Edition of the Movie
  • Release date: 2010

The gold variant to the Capsule Neo Dragon Ball Kai “Edition of the Movie” set is the same model as the color version also released in 2010. The piece remains the same aside from being colored completely in gold. However, there is also a great deal of detail on the shadows even though the figurine maintains a single color for its initial design. As an alternate collectible piece, the gold versions in this set are released in conjunction with the colored ones in order to allow for two versions of each piece to be collected in the Capsule Neo gashapon format.

KidzBiz[]

KidzBiz LegendisHere Tapion

The Legend is Here Tapion figure in packaging

  • The Legend is Here series 3
  • Release date: 2000

The same 4-5 inch Tapion figure from the AB Super Guerriers lineup was re-released in 2000 in the UK (United Kingdom) by the company KidzBiz in a lineup entitled "The Legend is Here." As a part of series 3, the figure had additional accessories, such as a red-colored Dragon Ball, a miniature stun gun (which was quite random), and a logo. The box front reads Tapion's name as accurately as opposed to some others in the same lineup to due an alternate naming scheme. Others included in the "Legend is Here" series 3 set are Minotia (spelled Minoshiya), Hirudegarn (spelled Hirudegane), and Krillin.

Irwin Toy[]

Series5 TheSagaContinues Tapion

Series 5 Tapion figure

  • The Saga Continues Series 5
  • Release date: 1999

Irwin Toy’s basic toy lineup entitled “The Saga Continues” series 5 was released in 1999 and has included a figure set which incorporated a re-released Tapion from the AB line. The boxart reads “Poseable” and lists the character as “Tapion” on the box front. The figure is nice for a basic piece in terms of mobility and height. The articulation is limited, allowing for movement for the arms albeit having almost-immobile legs. With the minor articulation flaws, this figure remains one of Tapion’s best pieces to be manufactured at a 5-inch scale by Irwin, the actual first model being the AB version of this same piece. The box mockup has green and blue aura as the background.

Series 5 Tapion reissue figure

  • The Saga Continues Series 5 reissues
  • Release date: 1999

Irwin Toy’s basic toy lineup entitled “The Saga Continues” series 5 was released in 1999 and has reissued the same Tapion figure from the aforementioned lineup. The differentiating factor for this figure is the box mockup having purple, green, and blue aura as the background. Otherwise, the figure remains exactly the same in terms of the contents of this release. The box front of this version reads “Poseable! Articule! Articulados!” This remains the only model offered by Irwin as a base height figure for Tapion to be manufactured at a 5-inch scale, the actual first model being the AB version of this same piece.

Series7-12 Turles Irwin

Series 9 including Tapion miniature figurine

  • “The Saga Continues” series 9
  • Release date: 1999

Irwin Toy pretty much re-released all the previous 2 inch Super Guerriers figurines. Tapion was no exclusion as when series 9 was released, he was included with the others from the previous lineup. The mini-figure remains the same aside from the basic packaging layout being larger by the bubble and cardboard size. However, the contents remain the same and the figures remain unaltered. This series is considered the miniature releases that went along with Irwin’s basic 5 inch lineup.

Saga Continues (Mini figures) Series-1

The Saga Continues mini figurines series 1 with Tapion figurine

  • The Saga Continues
  • Release date: 1999

Amongst the various “Saga Continues” releases was an alternate miniature-sized 1.5 inch version of the Tapion miniature figurine. This time, the figurine is positioned in a basic stance with both arms dangling beside him whilst his feet are maintained in unison. The figurine size is much smaller than the original release, however. This is another of the versions of Tapion produced by Irwin as reissues of the previous Super Guerriers lineups. Like the other miniatures, this one also portrays Tapion with his sword kept behind him.

Model Kits[]

Tapion statue a

Resin-based Model Kit Tapion statue

  • Resin-based model kit statue series
  • Release date: Unknown

A more recent release came in the form of a 12-inch resin-based statue which portrays Tapion powerfully dominating the ground beneath him with a determined facial reaction, sharp nose, long elf-like ears, and his ever-popular spiked Mohawk-style hair. The detail on this piece is astounding, from his ocarina in his side to his sword in its sheath. The highly detailed statue comes in a paint job reminiscent of an airbrush technique. Other than the ground seemingly a destroyed house roof, and mostly rubble underneath, there is great impression on Tapion’s clothing in terms of the very movement of his robe in the wind.

Tapion-from-set

High Grade Tapion figure re-release front view

  • High Grade Coloring series re-release
  • Release date: Unknown

This was the Tapion model from the High Grade Coloring keychain series but is re-released in figure format as opposed to being a keychain. The Tapion keychain from the aforementioned set has been re-released without the attached keyring and with some others as a part of this set. The only differentiating factor from the keychain set is that the figurine comes with a round, yellow base to stand on as many others in this same set. The figure remains exactly the same as the High Grade model, aside from very minor alterations in terms of the paint job. Others included in this same re-release set are Super Saiyan Broly, Tien, Yamcha, Super Saiyan 3 Goku, and Goku.
