Tamagami Number One (タマガミ・ナンバー・ワン Tamagami Nanbā Wan) is one of the Tamagamis created by Neva to act as protectors for the Demon Realm Dragon Balls.

Appearance[]

Tamagami Number One resembles Tamagami Number Two but with a leaner physique and has the One-Star Dragon Ball in the front of his waist.

Personality[]

Tamagami Number One is noticeably more serious than his fellow guardians, fighting Majin Kuu without any audacious displays of power (unlike Tamagami Number Three). He is respectful to his creator Neva, giving him a thumbs-up after receiving Neva's gratitude for guarding his Dragon Ball.

Biography[]

Background[]

After Neva created the Dragon Balls of the Demon Realm, he created the Tamagamis to protect them. Due to their strength, no one in the Demon Realm would be able to have a wish granted for a long time.[1]

Dragon Ball Daima[]

Daima Saga[]

Tamagami Number One is guarding the One-Star Demon Realm Dragon Ball and bows to Neva after he compliments Number One for its continuous duties.[1]

Later, he is approached by Dr. Arinsu and her newly created Majin warrior, Majin Kuu. Kuu eagerly challenges Tamagami Number One for the Dragon Ball, but despite his eccentric fighting style and abilities, Number One makes quick work of him, resulting in Kuu's surrender.[2]

DBD Ep 11 08

Tamagami Number One is challenged by Majin Duu

Arinsu and Kuu depart but return to confront Tamagami Number One again with a new Majin in tow, Majin Duu.[3] Duu instantly proves to be a more capable adversary than Kuu, gaining the edge on Number One with his unique physiology and strength. However, Duu stops mid-fight due to wanting chocolate, giving Number One an opening to attack freely while Duu whines about. Kuu momentarily leaves to buy chocolate, then flings it into Duu's mouth, energizing the fat Majin further and turning the tables on Number One. In response, Number One enters his Fury state and attempts to slash Duu in half, but Duu slithers around the blade to headbutt him. After a small scuffle, Duu launches an energy blast that Number One attempts to stab through, resulting in a huge explosion.

When the smoke clears, Tamagami Number One is revealed to have lost the clash, lying on the ground and admitting defeat. For his final test, he presents a mental arithmetic challenge to Majin Duu: determine the sum of a series of numbers shown in rapid succession on a display. The challenge bewilders even Dr. Arinsu, who proclaims even she can't keep up with the numbers, but Majin Kuu is able to calculate the sum - 683,775,029 - and whispers it to Duu, who recites the number to Tamagami Number One. The guardian declares Duu has succeeded and presents him with the One-Star Dragon Ball.[4]

DBD Ep 17 Tamagami 1

Tamagami Number One and Majin Kuu save Goku

Much later, Goku and his companions arrive at Tamagami Number One's resting place, surprised that his Dragon Ball is missing. Tamagami Number One explains that it has already gone to the victors, Arinsu and her Majin, who arrive to confront the Dragon Team.[5] However, they are all interrupted by the arrival of an Evil Third Eye-enhanced Gomah, who proceeds to overpower both parties. Number One looks on as the Supreme Demon King creates a massive arena in the air, but is then approached by Neva, who urges him to join forces with Goku in the fight against Gomah. Number One complies and assists the Dragon Team, cutting a path for Goku and his friends to attack on one occasion, but is ultimately overpowered. Even after entering his Fury mode and launching a Sword Blast in tandem with the others' attacks, Gomah is able to defend himself with a barrier.

DBD Ep 18 03

Tamagami Number One joins the fight against Gomah

When Gomah paralyzes Goku and threatens to kill him with an energy blast, Tamagami Number One and Majin Duu team up to defend him by holding off the attack. They are eventually pushed aside, but they buy enough time for Goku to go Super Saiyan 3.[6] The three of them fight Gomah together but they are all taken down. After recovering he joins everyone, sans Vegeta, in a combined attack though Gomah easily shrugs it off. Eventually Gomah is defeated and Tamagami Number One returns to its post where it awaits its next challenger.

Power[]

The Tamagamis are some of the most powerful warriors in the Demon Realm as they prevented anyone from acquiring the Demon Realm Dragon Balls in a long time. King Kadan believed that with Goku having defeated Majin Buu, it is possible that he could also succeed in defeating the Tamagami.

Tamagami Number One easily overpowers Majin Kuu, tanking his Mouth Energy Wave point-blank and soundly beating him to the point where Kuu forfeits. Against Majin Duu, Tamagami Number One is at a slight disadvantage due to Duu's unexpected fighting style. Though Number One regains the advantage after Duu becomes disinterested due to wanting chocolate, once the Majin is given the latter, Number One is totally outmatched, even after using its full power.

When Goku encounters Tamagami Number One he excitedly exclaims that it appears to be the strongest of the three.

With help from Majin Duu, Tamagami Number One is able to hold off one of Gomah's Full Power Energy Waves, but both are ultimately overpowered on more than one occasion.
