Timeline Placement[]

The movie is non-canon, and is meant to be an alternate beginning to DBZ. It takes the place of the battle with Raditz, as the plot and fight mirror that section of the show.—This unsigned comment was made by TheMattMan095 (talkcontribs) Please sign your posts with ~~~~ next time!

Canon doesn't exist in the series. This movie was officially stated to take place one year before the Saiyan Saga. ShulabyninjaJeangabinTalkContribDaburawrh 01:45, February 20, 2014 (UTC)

And with that comment, I'm not using this site anymore. All credibility is lost. Bias and ignorance are rampant.—This unsigned comment was made by TheMattMan095 (talkcontribs) Please sign your posts with ~~~~ next time!

Saying the word "non-canon" is synonymous with saying "I am biased against certain types of media". What is worse is that those biases associated with "canon" are different for everyone. -- SSJ4 Goku(2) 10X.Ka.me.ha.me.ha.....talk.....contrib. 06:07, February 20, 2014 (UTC)

Funimation dub director[]

I am aware that Chris Cason was the ADR Director for this movie's dub. To anyone who owns the movie, does he ever specifically note playing anyone in the commentary? Like in the Ocean dub, the "Evil Warriors" are foley effects (in Ocean they were animals, in Funi they're militaristic). I'm sorry for my skepticism but considering all the other times Orkatron keeps placeholder VAs in the final versions of their credits I can't help but wonder whether or not he was Ginger and Troy wasn't [the credits for Dead Zone already incorrectly credit Chris Sabat to Ox King] (and if Cason says he was Ginger in the commentary then there you go). Could anyone please check this just to be sure?  HubStyle (talk) 18:17, April 10, 2015 (UTC)

Canon[]

Is this movie canon to the manga?Njr428 (talk) 03:04, 12 November 2021 (UTC)

No! Toriyama himself stated that every movie, excluding the movies with the Super brand, takes place in another dimension in this interview -> http://www.kanzenshuu.com/translations/daizenshuu-6-akira-toriyama-super-interview/

(Note: The answer shown above can also be used as an argument for the non-canon status of this film in the timeline placement topic at the top of this talk page) Dragon Scholar (talk) 17:13, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
