Sword Blast (ブレードウェーブ Burēdou Uēbu, lit. "Blade Wave")[4][5] is a wave of energy channeled through a sword.

The user slashes with his sword, sending a wide wave of ki energy forward, damaging anything caught in the wave.

Video Game Appearances[]

In Super Butōden 3, it is named Sword Blast and is used by Dabura.

In Super Battle, it is named Blade Wave (ブレードウェーブ) and is used by Future Trunks.

In The Legacy of Goku II, it is named Sword Blast and is used by Future Trunks. The in-game description of this technique is: "This attack will make Trunks swing his sword in tandem with a destructive wave of energy".

In Taiketsu, and Super Dragon Ball Z, it is used by Future Trunks.

In Buu's Fury, Janemba uses the technique.

In Advanced Adventure and Revenge of King Piccolo, Bear Thief uses this technique.

In the Budokai Tenkaichi series, the charged Ki Blast used by Yajirobe, Future Trunks (with Sword), Dabura, Super Janemba, and Tapion is a 3-dimensional version of the Sword Blast. The energy blade fired from the sword is capable of bypassing an opponent's guard. The only defense against this attack is to either evade it or hiding behind a stage's terrain (objects or buildings) to keep from getting hit by it.

In Supersonic Warriors 2, Future Trunks use this technique as a charged Ki Blast, has three variations as special attacks, and one as his Ultimate K.O. in his base form.

In Dokkan Battle and World Mission, Great Saiyaman 3 fires a single powerful sword blast as part of his Justice Slash.

In Xenoverse 2, Janemba's Rakshasa's Claw can fire up to 5 sword blasts depending on the button input, though they lack the power to cut through dimensional portals and act more like a standard sword blast. As part of the Extra Pack 1 DLC, Tapion's Brave Sword Slash can fire sword multiple blasts.

In Legends, Trunks: Mai (Assist)(DBL33-01S) Special Move Arts Shining Divider will unleash an X-shaped Sword Blast as the finisher for Shining Divider.
