A Super Attack is a type of special attack comprised of many techniques. They are comprised of ki and Rush Attacks that certain characters use. In the Raging Blast series, including Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi, they are a combination of Blast 1 and Blast 2 attacks from the Budokai Tenkaichi series. In the Budokai Tenkaichi series, there are Blast 1 attacks use blast stocks, while in Raging Blast games, they are all classified as supers, taking Ki. Also, blast stocks are needed to reach MAX Power, thus allowing to freely do so in the Raging Blast games.

Examples of Blast 1 type Super Attacks include the Wild Sense, Explosive Wave, and Instant Transmission. Examples of Blast 2 type Super Attacks include: Kamehameha, Genocide Breaker, and Infinite Break.

In the Xenoverse series, Super Attacks are known as Super Skills and are classified by type (Strike for Rush Attacks, Ki Blast for Energy Attacks, Power Up for Fighting Poses and Power Up techniques, Transformation for the Kaio-ken skills (Xenoverse only), and Other for Movement/Supportive/Misc. techniques). The Future Warrior and Future Warrior (Xenoverse 2) have 4 skill slots for equipping Super Skills.

While most video game's classify techniques as Super or Ultimate Attacks, some games such as Dragon Ball Fusions do not as all attack techniques (save for standard melee and ki blasts, Zenkai Attack, and Five-Way/Ultra Fusion) are classified as Special Moves.

In Dragon Ball Heroes and Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission, Super Attacks are powerful techniques that can be used during the user's Attack Phase after winning CI (Charge Impact). Most Super Attacks require a certain amount of Hero Energy to perform indicated by the number the character's card (the more Hero Energy required to perform the more powerful the Super Attack). Certain abilities, CAA/TAA Special Ability effects, Ultimate Units, and Giant or Special type characters can utilize their Super Attack regardless of Hero Energy requirements (though some like support characters like Bulma may require them to be paired with another character to perform their Super Attack). Some Ultimate Unit effects can seal the user's Super Attack preventing them from being used temporarily though certain abilities can protect the user from having their Super Attack sealed.

In World Mission, there are Super Attack Accessories which can be used to add certain Super Attacks to a custom card via Card Creation (provided they have enough Custom Points to equip it and the more rare the Accessory the more custom points required) or equipped to any non-Special type card in a Custom Deck. When equipped to a custom card, the player chooses how much Hero Energy is required though Super Attacks power is based upon how much energy is required thus decreasing the Hero Energy required makes the attack weaker while increasing it boosts the base power of the Super Attack. Equipping Super Attack Accessories via Custom Deck replaces the card's default Super Attack (Super Attacks equipped via Card Creation become the Custom Card's default Super Attack thus are replaced if the Super Attack Accessory equipped to them in the Custom Deck is different from its default (equipping in the Custom Deck prevents that Accessory from being equipped to other cards within the custom deck unless the player has extras). Super Attack Accessories allow characters to use Super Attacks they normally couldn't (such as Goku using Galick Gun, Vegeta using Special Beam Cannon, or Piccolo using Kamehameha). Additionally if the user performs a co-op attack with other characters of the same battle type (Hero, Elite, or Berserker) any characters who can perform their Super Attack after winning the CI will be able to fire their Super Attacks one after the other. Characters that are stunned are unable to attack or perform Super Attacks. The Hero Avatars can learn Super Attacks via either a wish to Super Shenron or by increasing their Camaraderie Lvl with a specific character (Camaraderie EXP is acquired by using certain characters and/or forms in battle with more cards of that character or form increasing the amount of Camaraderie EXP, though the amount received can be boosted by certain Item Capsules equipped before battle or via wishing for Camaraderie EXP for three characters via a wish to Super Shenron. Super Attacks acquired from Super Shenron can be used by all Hero Avatar types and races though most acquired via Camaraderie are exclusive to a single battle type). Playable Allies learn Super Attacks as they reach a certain Bond Lvl.
