"Chiaotzu... I won't let your sacrifice be in vain - I promise! This Saiyan goes down right now - or I'll be with you again soon, Chiaotzu! Now... TRI-BEAM!!! HAAAAAA!!!" |
Spirit Tri-Beam (魂の気功砲 Tamashī no Kikōhō, lit. "Spiritual Breath Control Gun") is a variation of the Tri-Beam used by Tien Shinhan.
Overview[]
After concentrating all of his remaining energy in his right hand, Tien brings it forward to form half of the Tri-Beam stance, firing the attack in a brilliant blast.
Usage[]
Tien uses this attack during the battle against Nappa. Enraged that Chiaotzu's suicidal attack on Nappa was in vain, Tien uses all of his remaining energy and fires a Spirit Tri-Beam up at Nappa in a final attempt to kill him. Unfortunately, this too ends up being a suicidal attack, as when the smoke clears, the blast only damages Nappa's armor and not Nappa himself. Tien perishes from the sheer toll the technique had taken on him, disheartened that his effort was in vain. Nappa notes, however, that his attempt wasn't half bad.[3]

In Raging Blast, it is named Spirit Tri-Beam where it appears as one of Tien's Super Attacks that is unlocked by wishing it from Shenron.
In Xenoverse, performing the Tri-Beam on the ground causes the user to fire it with one hand, turning it into a Spirit Tri-Beam. Thus, the Future Warrior and Cell Jr. can use the Spirit Tri-Beam as well.
In Xenoverse 2, like in Xenoverse, performing the Tri-Beam on the ground will cause the user to perform the Spirit Tri-Beam and thus can be used by Tien, Cell Jr. and, the Future Warrior. Additionally, if the Tri-Beam user is holding a single Dragon Ball during either certain Parallel Quests or Guru's House Quests, they can still perform the Spirit Tri-Beam with their free hand both on the ground and in the air. After the 1.09.00 Update, Tri-Beam can be added to Perfect Cell and Yamcha's custom skillset after purchasing it from Partner Customization, thus allowing them to perform the Spirit Tri-Beam when performing it on the ground.
