"The Mafūba? That will consume all of your life forces."
Sifu Norris (シフ・ノリス Sifu Norisu) is a character in the 2009 film Dragonball Evolution. He seems to be the movie's version of Master Mutaito, the teacher of Master Roshi in Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball franchise, and is portrayed by Ernie Hudson.
- While Master Mutaito's counterpart is either Caucasian or Asian in Akira Toriyama's franchise, he is depicted as African in Dragonball Evolution. This is similar to the race alterations of Staff Officer Black in the 1996 film The Path to Power, where unlike his manga and anime counterpart, he was depicted as Hispanic rather than African. His name is also changed from Mutaito to Sifu Norris.
- It can possibly be conjectured that this version of Mutaito could also be a loosely blended version of Mr. Popo due to his clothing similarity.
- Ernie Hudson being cast to play a version of Mutaito is actually somewhat fitting as he is best known for playing the role of Winston Zeddemore in the Ghostbusters franchise. Both Winston and Mutaito are similar as they have fought against supernatural forces (Mutaito has fought an evil spirit and demons like King Piccolo while Winston has fought ghosts such as Vigo the Carpathian and evil demigods like Gozer in its destroyer form the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man) and Mutaito's Evil Containment Wave works in a manner similar to the Ghostbuster's primary method of catching ghosts (as the wave serves the same function as a proton stream while Mutaito's Electric Rice Cooker serves the same role as the Ghostbuster's traps).
