The Sealing Spell is a spell capable of sealing an entity in any kind of object.

Overview[]

Roughly 75 Million Before Age, during an argument between the God of Destruction Beerus and Old Kai in one of their coordination meetings held every 1,000 years, the short-tempered Beerus used a sealing ability in order to seal the Old Kai inside the Z Sword, due it not being proper to outright destroy the Sacred World of the Kai.[1]

Roughly 5 Million Before Age, the Sealing Spell was used by Bibidi to take a break after Majin Buu absorbed Grand Supreme Kai, trapping the Majin in a Sealed Ball. This incantation is unpronounceable for humans; putting it into letters, it would be something like "Nuwemwittsimwawaay". When he died, Bibidi left the spell behind in his notebook.[1]

In Age 461, a Sealing Spell is used by the Guardian of Earth and his Dragon Clansman apprentice Kami in order to stop Garlic and his Demon minions from causing any harm.

The four Kais of the universe locked Bojack away inside of a star and thousands of years passed until the seal was broken when Cell destroyed King Kai's Planet, thus killing King Kai, in Age 767.

While Babidi said he learned the incantation to seal away Majin Buu from the notebook of his father Bibidi, he never had the chance to use it in his lifetime. After reviving Majin Buu in Age 774, whenever Majin Buu disobeyed Babidi's orders, Babidi threatened Buu with the spell and thus Majin Buu then followed Babidi's orders, not wanting to be sealed up once again. Eventually, Majin Buu used the weakness of the spell against Babidi: by preventing Babidi from speaking via strangling, Majin Buu prevented him from uttering the incantation required to activate it, then killed him to prevent any chance of the spell ever being used.

Merus used a Sealing Spell when attacking Transformed Moro's crystals in order to seal away his Copy Ability.

Fu utilizes the "strongest Sealing Spell in history" to keep the Prison Planet in chains.

Film Appearances[]

In Dragon Ball Z: Wrath of the Dragon, the music box was kept sealed by a spell used by the Konatsian Wizard until the seal was undone by Shenron. Tapion is able to use his ocarina to temporarily seal the entirety of Hirudegarn within himself in an attempt to sacrifice his own life to save the Earth by having Trunks kill them both with the Brave Sword, but Trunks hesitates and Hirudegarn escapes, though fortunately Super Saiyan 3 Goku is ultimately able to slay the beast with his Dragon Fist.

Variations[]

Video Game Appearances[]

In True Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans - Space Saga, Goku finds a Sealing Tag on the first planet he goes to and can use it to seal Dr. Lychee.

Chronoa sealing the Majin Emblem in an energy sphere in Xenoverse 2

In Xenoverse, Chronoa is shown to be quite skilled at using Sealing Spells as she sealed Demon God Demigra inside to Crack of Time and is even proficient enough to seal Demigra's self destructing Majin Emblem in an energy sphere allowing her to throw it away before it detonated. This marks the first time a sealing technique is used to seal something other than a living being and being used to counter other forms of magic (at least before the introduction of Kai Kai Matoru in the Dragon Ball Super manga during the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga).
