"Smack your own cheeks to get your energy back. Recovers your Stamina!"
Dragon Ball Xenoverse Skill description

Rise to Action is a technique used by Krillin.

Overview[]

The user smacks their own cheeks with both hands to focus their will and restore their stamina.

Usage[]

Never has been officially stated in the anime, but in Krillin's fight with Goku in Dragon Ball Super Krillin can be seen slapping his face presumably to focus his spirit and regain stamina like it is depicted in the Xenoverse series or alternatively Krillin using it to psych himself up to fight Goku.

A Female Saiyan character using Rise to Action

Rise to Action was named and first appeared in Dragon Ball Xenoverse as a common Super Skill used by many fighters such as Goku, Gohan, and many others. It can also be purchased by the Future Warrior at the Skill Shop in Toki Toki City's Industrial Sector. Due to its ability to restore stamina it is useful for maintaining the Kaio-ken and its higher forms.

"Focuses the will and restores 200 Stamina."
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Tutorial description

In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 it returns and is one of Krillin's Super Skills which the Future Warrior can learn by completing Krillin's Initiation Test to train under him. It is a common Super Skill though some characters utilize a another stamina restoration Super Skill called Charged Ki Wave which uses ki to restore stamina. After the 1.09.00 Update, it is a common super skill that can be equipped to most characters custom skillsets through Partner Customization though for certain characters is must be purchased with TP Medals though some have it automatically available for no cost.

In Dragon Ball Legends, Yajirobe (DBL39-02E) utilizes a variation called Will to Sacrifice where he slaps his cheeks to psych himself up. When this Special Quirk Skill is activated it, Restores ally health by 10% (activates three times), restores own Ki by 20, & +15% to Strike damage inflicted for 15 timer counts.

Trivia[]

  • It should be noted that Krillin's use of Rise to Action in the Xenoverse series predates its apparent appearance in Dragon Ball Super episode 84 which premiered in Japan on April 2, 2017 as Xenoverse was released in 2015, while Xenoverse 2 was released in 2016.
    • This indicates the possibility is that Krillin's apparent use of the technique in the anime may have been a reference of to his use of the skill in the Xenoverse series and his teaching it in Xenoverse 2 (which was released at least 5 mouths before it debuted in the anime).
    • This is not the first time a video game technique debuted in Dragon Ball Super as Vegito's Final Kamehameha made its debut during the "Future" Trunks Saga.
