Imagination set

Frieza with the entire Ginyu Force including Recoome collectible figurine set

  • Imagination Series 1
  • Release date: 2003

The first diorama-styled set to be released by Bandai was the original set including the complete Ginyu Force with Frieza and was released in September, 2003. This set was a part of the series entitled "Imagination Figure." The Ginyu Force comes enshrouded in the form of a red aura surrounded by crimson burning flames with yellow and orange tint. The Ginyu Force is completely covered by this transparent inferno as their coloring scheme. Behind them, Frieza smirks as his icy fingers are twisted in the fashion which is depicted on numerous manga covers. The figurine set is initially designed to represent the original covers of the manga in a fluid motion, as the Ginyu Force was depicted to portray a vicious deadly organization. Other pieces in this set include Bulma inside one of her mechanical devices while she’s wearing headphones, Gohan preparing his final Kamehameha with Goku behind him, Oolong making his wish to Shenron, Kid Krillin and Kid Goku in their World Tournament match, and Super Saiyan Goku with final form Frieza, Perfect Cell, and Super Buu behind him in a silver outline.

Imagination Best version

Frieza with the entire Ginyu Force including Recoome collectible figurine set Best series variant

  • Imagination “Best” Series
  • Release date: 2004

The next diorama-styled set released in April, 2004 by Bandai was entitled “Imagination Figure Best Series”, incorporating numerous popular scenes from the series. These figurines stand at about 5 cm (2 inches) and the Ginyu Force comes enshrouded in the form of a red aura surrounded by crimson burning flames with yellow and orange tint as opposed to the previous version's all-metallic paint job. This version of the model, however, allows the Ginyu Force to have a certain shading scheme and metallic paint job rather than the alternate version's transparent-type crimson inferno. Behind them, Frieza maintains his smirk as his icy fingers are twisted in the fashion which is depicted on numerous manga covers. Other pieces in this set include Gohan preparing his final Kamehameha with Goku behind him, Oolong making his wish to Shenron (Shenron being a glow-in-the-dark piece), Super Saiyan Goku with final form Frieza, Perfect Cell, and Super Buu behind him in a silver outline, Super Saiyan 3 Goku with an electrifying aura emanating around him, and Super Saiyan Gotenks with the Kamikaze Ghosts (which also glow-in-the-dark) surrounding him.

The assortment was entitled “Son Goku Returns” and in this set, all the characters came sitting on top of a mini Dragon Ball or another item (such as a space pod). Mask Lineage Recoome

MCLoF Recoome Color version

  • Mask Collection Lineage of F (Genealogy of Frieza) Series
  • Release date: 2010

A very unique set released by Bandai in 2010 is the “Mask Collection Lineage of F” series, which portrays the sculpted heads of Frieza’s forces in a statuesque manner. Two versions of each character in this set are available; one colored version, and one completely black version with red eyes. The Recoome in this series is highly detailed and is likely the best representation of his face as a single sculpt, with his genuine scouter and very remarkable and meticulous effort being placed on his long chin design. The brutish grin engulfs his face as his eyes brightly highlight his facial expression with extreme detail and the base portrays the character’s name in solid neon highlights, which in this case follows a Japanese naming scheme, written as “Recoom”. This collectible statuette is one of the most highly detailed and the rest of the series is also very thorough in its initial construct and replication, staying true to the original look and feel of the manga and anime alike.

Bandai Mask Collection Recoome Black b

MCLoF Recoome Black variant

Keyholder set 2008 Banpresto

  • Release date: 2008

Banpresto revealed a slew of Keyholder figurines as one of their basic lineups. Released in 2008 and entitled “High Quality Key Holder,” the entire Ginyu Force is assembled for this amazing piece. The detail is remarkable and the paint job is very unique with a shiny and glossy look. When it comes to Recoome, the shiny texture of his hair is specifically extremely well-detailed and the curve of his position makes him rather sleek whilst he maintains his muscular build. The facial detail is amazing in terms of construct and resemblance. The only detrimental factor of this full piece is that all the Ginyu members are cut off at their torso, which means that there’s no legs to go along with the base, which is composed of an eruption of flames traveling around them.

Irwin Toy[]

Irwin Recoome Prototype

Irwin Toy's Battle Damaged Recoome prototype

  • Irwin Toy Series
  • Release date: Canceled

A Prototype Battle Damaged Recoome was planned by Irwin Toy before the company officially declared bankruptcy, handing over the rights for later releases to Jakks Pacific. Other figures included in this un-released series are Guldo, Battle-Damaged Zarbon, final form Frieza, Goz, and a Saibaman. The Recoome figure stands at nearly 6 inches tall and is seen with a rather deadly joyous expression as he prepares to launch an attack, The armor is completely glossy and extremely well-painted, even for a prototype. There is some battle damage in the form of black ash, smoke, or fume on the front of the figure’s armor, revealing the effect of Recoome’s scuffle. Also, one side of his shoulder boards is completely torn off from his battle. It is unclear whether this Recoome figurine would have been released separately or in a single set with Guldo due to the fact that the Guldo figurine is a smaller piece. This set remains unreleased but is highly sought after due to the collectible value and initial design of the early prototypes.

Jakks Pacific[]

Recoome Jakks 2003

Striking Z Fighters series 6 Recoome figure

  • Striking Z Fighters series 6
  • Release date: 2003

This Recoome figure was the first 6-inch basic figure scale model released and it was first offered by Jakks Pacific. Released in 2003, the box art was designed to go along with the rest of the “Striking Z Fighters” series 6 set. The series involves a fighting motion triggered by a switch, which allows the fighter to attack in some method. In the case of Recoome, his packaging front reads “with Eraser Gun action” although his actual attack is a physical double punch motion triggered by a switch rather than an energy-based attack. Additionally, Recoome comes with a scouter, which can be equipped on the character’s face. It is also notable that this figure was released with a battle damaged look, with half his armor blown off of his shoulder, which details the fact that Jakks maintained the battle damage look from Irwin’s previous prototype model, although there are still minor differences. Aside from this, the packaging is a light yellow tint with the character image as the backboard.

Recoome Jakks doublepunching

Series 17 Recoome figure

  • Series 17
  • Release date: 2004

The same Recoome figure was re-released yet again by Jakks Pacific in 2004. However, there was little more of a differentiating factor from the previous release aside from the genuinely newly crafted box art for the series 17 set. He came with the same action attack from the previous release and in this case, the packaging front read “with grip and punch action” and “double punching action.” The light yellow box design gives a new touch to the packaging and the overall style of the box is rather unique, with intricate detail on the packaging bubble and sides. Additionally, Recoome still maintains his battle damaged look.

Jakks 10th Recoome 2pack

10th Anniversary Recoome and Goku 2-pack

  • 10th Anniversary Collector Edition 2-packs
  • Release date: 2005

Jakks Pacific has released a 2-pack of Recoome along with a battle damaged Goku in its Dragon Ball Z series additions to the 2-pack sets, this time highlighted by the “10th Anniversary Collector Editions.” Released in 2005, this specific 2-pack portrays the conflict between Recoome and Goku. Recoome still maintains his battle damaged look and additionally, has a new paint job, showing yellow-ish blemishes on his armor as well as a distinctive logo mark on Recoome’s leg which reads “DBZ 10 Year Anniversary.” The box mockup is highlighted by a galactic blue background and numerous sparks as the backdrop. Both Recoome and Goku are featured on the box front in pictorial format and the packaging shape is that of an oval shape. The Recoome figure remains the same as the single releases from prior packagings offered by Jakks but this 2-pack is quite a rarity as it was released in scarce quantities, coincidentally making this highly collectible in this format.

Recoome Jakks FriezaRevenge

Frieza's Revenge series Recoome figure

  • Frieza’s Revenge
  • Release date: 2007

Released in February 2007, Jakks has offered yet another Recoome figure as a repaint. The “Frieza’s Revenge” set is likely a nice differential to the prior Recoome models in terms of the paint job. The primary difference is Recoome’s under-clothes, which were altered from the dark navy blue color to a very black tone. Aside from these minor paint job alterations, the figure’s model is still consistent with the previous molds. This piece remains one of the most consistent and accurate in terms of distinctive attributes for Recoome due to being a single figure piece without attack actions and his backside also being altered to disqualify his punching motion. Of course, Recoome still maintains his green scouter in the packaging. Additionally, Recoome’s battle damaged look has not been altered.

MegaHouse[]

MegaHouseRecoomevGohan

Recoome vs Gohan diorama color version

  • Capsule Neo Series
  • Release date: 2003

MegaHouse has released a slew of Gashapon figures in a diorama series entitled Capsule Neo incorporating scenes from the Dragon Ball universe. The first wave involved the Saiyan conflict. The second initial set release included the Namek struggle, which was released in 2003. The Recoome figure first released in this set portrayed him standing with his mouth open and his busted teeth showing, as well as his facial reaction remaining joyous in the heat of combat. The figure, much like most in this set, came with another character (one they were fighting). Gohan is preparing to lunge towards Recoome. Gohan's reaction is that of complete sadness as tears are filling his eyes due to his confusion of not being able to stand up to Recoome's incredible devastating might. The basic set was released within Dragon Balls and the Gashapons included two figurines, which would be attached to a ground base and showcase a scene from the series. The Recoome came facing Gohan in his first initial MegaHouse appearance and this same scene would be re-introduced with brand new sculpts in the Frieza Returns capsule neo set.

This series, much like the following ones, was also released as a gold base, with both figures coming as gold versions rather than colored ones. Aside from battle-damaged Recoome fighting Gohan, others included in this set are Zarbon versus Vegeta, second form Frieza facing Piccolo, first form Frieza preparing to unleash his attack against Bardock, Captain Ginyu preparing his body change technique against Goku, Goku facing a final form Frieza, and Super Saiyan Goku standing against a final form Frieza. When all figures are collected, they each bring together a piece that constructs a large Porunga figure.

Capsule Neo Ginyu Force special secret gashapon set with Recoome

  • Capsule Neo Series
  • Release date: 2006

The first MegaHouse series to incorporate Recoome was a Neo special edition set released in November 2006. It portrayed Recoome along with the rest of the Ginyu Force as they play rock, paper, scissors to determine who will fight their opponents. Ginyu stands firm in a determined position, waiting for his crew to finish deciphering their game whilst Recoome and Guldo continue their attempts. Burter is seen snapping his fingers, likely due to the fact that he didn’t win the game, and Jeice is seen facing Ginyu, likely complaining about not being the one who’d fight their foes. The facial detail on Recoome portrays him with a wide open mouth from the excitement of the game of rock, paper, scissors. This set is comprised of the full Ginyu Force but is compiled only through collecting the rest of the pieces in this set. Since there’s one piece included in each gashapon set, this diorama comes together when all the other pieces are collected, making this a special secret gashapon piece for the 2006 Capsule Neo set.

The third MegaHouse series Neo release to include a set that featured Recoome came out in December, 2008. It showcased him in a completely battle-damaged look as he is awaiting Gohan's furious attack, just as the original capsule neo Frieza saga series release. This set, entitled "Frieza Returns" is the 19th Megahouse series released, and much like the previous sets, the figures came with an immobile position and a base to stand on, which in this case was the planet Namek ground. The Recoome figure in this set is seen with a look of sheer brutish joy as well as a menacing glare in his expression.

Ginyu Force resin-based statue set including Recoome

  • Resin-Based Model Kit Series
  • Release date: 1993

A resin-based model kit set was released in 1993 which included the entire Ginyu Force in their entrance poses. This set is highly collectible and is designated by a clear-cut round black base. This is likely one of the oldest pieces to ever incorporate the character of Recoome in any way, which makes it extremely hard to come by as well as highly collectible. Other variants of the model kit set have been portrayed with the ground having a shattered space pod depicting the strength of the mercenary squadron as well as bringing to life the overall detail of the piece. This authentic set was initially released in 1993 but has had numerous variants being modified in the future as completed sets.

Battle-Damaged Recoome resin-based model kit statue

  • Resin-based Statue series
  • Release date: 2008

A 2008 statue portrays Recoome with a battle-damaged appearance and places impression on his musclebound structure. The statue stands tall with intricate detail. The paint job is reminiscent of an airbrush technique. Recoome comes in a battle stance with both hands to his sides and tightly gripped and he is seen wearing a frown with his jaw extended downward and his clothing shredded off around his body as a result of his scuffle. Recoome's sculpt is brilliant, allowing for his muscles, abdomen, and neck to pulsate and place impression even on the behind, where his full-body undergarments are shredded off for a complete detailed look. There's enormous detail being placed on the brute that is Recoome.

A more recent release in 2009 came in the form of Recoome standing with his armor completely intact, placing impression on his deadly face and overall musclebound features. Of course, the model kit is resin-based and goes along well with the most recent statue pieces. This is a unique piece due to the fact that it features Recoome without his armor broken off.

Battle Damaged Recoome resin-based model kit statue

  • Statue Model Kit Series
  • Release date: 2010

Recoome saw another model kit released in 2010 alongside another of Captain Ginyu. However, the detail on this piece is phenomenal, portraying Recoome with complete battle damage, with all his armor torn off and even his body showing in certain areas due to the overall wounds inflicted. There's also numerous bruises and other extreme detail placed on the statue. The ground base highlights his stance as he maintains a deadly position. His fist is completely enshrouded in a furious flame emanating from his aura. His hair is thrust in one direction due to the wind and his torn bodysuit is detailed in the areas in which the clothing has blown off completely. The expression detailed across his face is that of a complete brutish frown. The piece is also extremely unique, not only due to the limited quantities, but also because of the method in which the character is portrayed, with complete battle damage. This same model is available with very minor difference in terms of his hair; some molds portray him with more hair and others with less depending on the ratio of the battle damage.
