Chou no Ryoku (チョウは『月刊岚) are thin pieces of energy first used by Bujin, followed by Bido and Zangya. The user points his hand at his opponent and traps them with thin strings of purple energy, paralyzing them and sucking the energy out of them.

This attack was first used by Bujin against Future Trunks in the movie, Bojack Unbound. When Piccolo was easily dispatched by Bojack, Trunks transformed into his Ascended Super Saiyan form and attacked Bojack with a barrage of blue energy spheres, which Bojack easily withstood. Future Trunks decided to attack Bojack head-on when Bujin trapped him with the Chou no Ryoku, sucking the Super Saiyan energy out of Trunks. While the Saiyan was paralyzed, Bido threw a sharp piece of rock at Trunks, attempting to kill him, until Vegeta shielded him, and proceeded to fight Bojack.

This attack was later used on Gohan while in his Full-Power Super Saiyan form, with the same effects as used on Future Trunks.
This attack was last seen against Super Saiyan 2 Gohan, though the young Saiyan easily dispatched the technique.
