Dragon Ball Wiki

The Prison Planet Saga (監獄惑星編 Kangoku Wakusei Hen, lit. "Prison Planet Arc") is the third original saga in Dragon Ball Heroes, as well as the first saga of Super Dragon Ball Heroes: Universe Mission.

It is set after the Universe Survival Saga of Dragon Ball Super and the Dark King Mechikabura Saga of Super Dragon Ball Heroes.[1] It, along with the rest of Universe Mission is a continuation of Dragon Ball Super.[2]

Future Trunks and Future Mai have returned to the present timeline in their time machine so that Future Trunks can train with Goku and Vegeta.

Prison Planet Gathering Saga

On Beerus' Planet, Goku and Vegeta continue their training, still attempting to land as much as a single blow on Whis but fail to do so. Shin, who has also visited the planet along with Old Kai calls for a lunch break. Future Mai (another visitor) urgently heads to the others to tell them that Future Trunks has been kidnapped and Goku confirms that he is unable to sense Trunks' energy.

Fu talking about the Prison Planet

From behind Mai, another being appears introducing himself as Fu. While Goku and Vegeta are unfamiliar with who Fu is, he in turn knows who they both are, having been told about them by Trunks previously who he refers to as his friend. Shin asks if he is from the future also and Fu confirms that he is before telling them all that Trunks has indeed been kidnapped and is currently imprisoned on the Prison Planet, a place that does exist in the present timeline. Fu opens a space time portal using his sword as Goku and Vegeta prepare to head through and rescue Trunks.

Shin attempts to stop them and seeks backup from Whis, however Whis mentions that it is now time for him to go and wake up Beerus who will surely be angry once he hears the news of Mai and Fu breaking galactic law by using time travel and tells the others to make sure that the pair return to their own timeline before he returns with Beerus. As Whis moves out of sight he begins to question the character of Fu, believing that he is planning something but decides to leave things up to Goku and Vegeta.

Xeno Goku stands before the others

Goku, Vegeta, Mai and Fu arrive on the Prison Planet where the former soon feel a large energy heading directly towards them targeting Fu. Goku intercepts the blow from an attacking Super Saiyan 4 Xeno Goku and Goku decides to go all out and transforms into Super Saiyan Blue. The match appears to be evenly fought with Fu secretly urging them to keep fighting as it benefits him. Vegeta soon realizes that Goku's opponent is indeed another Goku. They pause briefly but continue once again as Goku finds the prospect of finding another version of himself to be exciting. Xeno Goku meanwhile is unsure of the power that the other Goku appears to be using.

In the game, Super Saiyan Blue Goku defeats Super Saiyan 4 Xeno Goku, who notes that Goku is a step above him. After Xeno Goku catches his breath, Goku asks him for an explanation and Xeno Goku explains that he heard that Fu was scheming on a strange planet and so got caught on purpose while out on patrol to investigate.

In the anime, seeing the look on Fu's face, Vegeta realizes that the demon is up to something and Fu tells him that where they are is an experimental place that he created and he is taking powerful fighters from different planets and different eras and having them fight there confirming that he was one who also took Trunks. Mai demands that he explain what his purpose for doing this is only for Fu to casually explain that it's just out of fun and curiosity. Vegeta becomes angry and soon fires a blast at Fu though he sends it away by opening another space distortion that it passes through. Fu gives Vegeta a Dragon Ball and explains that other strong people have the other six and they must collect them all if they wish to escape and that this will be a free for all as he teleports himself away to his lab where he can watch over all the battles as he tells Cumber that soon it will be his turn to get involved.

Meanwhile, Trunks wakes up in a cell. The doors open allowing him to leave, however as soon as he heads outside he is confronted by Cooler who demands one of the Dragon Balls from him though Trunks has no idea what he means.

Trunks fights Bojack

In the manga, Cooler breaks into the cell and demands a Dragon Ball. In the Slum Area of the Prison Planet, Trunks battles against Bojack for the possession of the Two-Star Special Dragon Ball. When Bojack attempts to counter attack Trunks, he is hit with a surprise Death Beam belonging to Cooler. Trunks thanks Cooler who in turn tells him that he should not let his guard down until he is sure his enemy is dead. After realizing prior that Future Trunks did not have a Special Dragon Ball of his own, Cooler partners up with him in an attempt to escape the planet, finding his Saiyan ally to be useful. Future Trunks then sees Oolong and is surprised at why he would be on the planet along with them.

Meanwhile in the Green Area, Xeno Goku has gone off in search of Fu, leaving behind Goku, Vegeta and Future Mai. When Vegeta voices his vow to capture Fu to make him tell them where Trunks is, a flying communications device approaches and with Fu speaking through it, tells them that others will now be coming for them in order to get the Special Dragon Ball in their possession. The Saiyans then feel a powerful ki approaching and immediately turn to face the evil Saiyan named Cumber as he lands before them bound in restraints.

Golden Cooler

In the anime, Goku becomes Super Saiyan 2 and rushes him along with Vegeta only to be corrupted. Vegeta then battles Super Saiyan: Berserk Goku until Trunks arrives, Vegeta has Trunks - now a Super Saiyan - engage Goku while he heads to fight the evil Saiyan though he is stopped by Cooler. Fu voices his surprise at how Trunks was able to escape the Slum Area even though he had put handcuffs on him that seal energy as well as his apparent team up with Cooler. He goads Cooler about bringing his brother, Frieza, to the planet instead due to him having the stronger transformation. Cooler however responds by saying that whatever Frieza can do, he can do also as he ascends to his Ultimate Evolution form. He charges forward and and knocks Goku down with one punch, before firing a Golden Supernova at Cumber, though it has no effect.

In the manga, Cooler leaps into the air and powers up a Golden Super Nova which he launches directly at Goku. The amount of power given out causes Cooler to power back down to his Fourth Transformation but the attack was enough to knock Goku down. Cooler then proceeds to engage Cumber but is swiftly defeated, before Cumber can kill Cooler, he is saved by Future Trunks. Super Saiyan God Goku and Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta then arrive and knock Cumber back with a combined kick, seeing Goku's Super Saiyan God form Cumber is enraged and breaks his restraints. Mai blinds Cumber with a flashbang but as soon as he can see again he charges Super Saiyan God Goku - only to find it was Oolong in disguise.

In the anime, as Trunks goes to check on Goku, he sees that he has now regained his senses. Mai then removes a pair of Potara from her pocket, having been given to her by Shin before heading to the Prison Planet. While they begin the process to fuse together, Trunks rushes in to draw Cumber's attention away but he is beaten without effort while Golden Cooler's repeated volley of ki blasts has no effect. The two Saiyans fuse to become Vegito who transforms into Super Saiyan Blue as he heads directly for Cumber.

Vegito vs. Cumber

Having saved Trunks, Vegito orders him to stay back as he heads into battle with Cumber. The two fighters clash briefly with Cumber commenting on how amazed he is that he has found a worthy opponent and that destroying him will bring him enjoyment. Cumber charges up a Désastre Claw which he directs towards Vegito, sending him crashing back into the cliffside. In response, Vegito uses the Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken and engages in combat with Cumber once again. Meanwhile, Future Mai assists Trunks in moving away from the battlefield though he mentions how incredible the two battling warriors energy is.

As Vegito and Cumber continue to battle it out, Cooler watching from above, notices the chain surrounding the Prison Planet beginning to crack. Cumber fires up an even more powerful energy blast than before and Vegito responds by using the Final Kamehameha to counter it. After a struggle on both sides, the blasts cancel each other out though a section of the chain breaks.

In the manga, as Vegito and Cumber battle, Majin Ozotto appears briefly before deciding to leave, noting that Vegito and Cumber are too troublesome. Cooler grabs Trunks and follows Ozotto through the portal he opened, aiming to find out more about the Special Dragon Balls.

The Ghost Warriors

Now in the Chaos Area of Prison Planet, Trunks asks Cooler why he decided to go after Ozotto and he responds by telling him that Ozotto seemed to know where the Dragon Balls are. There they soon see King Cold badly injured up against a rock while the rest of his forces lay dead around him. Just then the Ghost Warriors of Cell, Kid Buu, Bojack, Turles and Lord Slug appear. They battle Trunks and Cooler but any attacks against the Ghost Warriors prove futile as they turn into smoke and reform back to normal immediately. Cooler transforms into Golden Cooler and it is at this point that King Cold is revealed to still be alive, complimenting his son on how strong he has become since the last time he saw him. King Cold shows him the Four-Star Special Dragon Ball and asks if Cooler will fight alongside him and for him. However, Cooler fires a Death Beam through him, killing him, not wanting to be taken advantage of and recovers the Dragon Ball from him.

Vegito and Cumber clash beams

Just then Majin Ozotto arrives nearby, thankful for Trunks and Cooler’s appearance allowing him to track down the machine that is responsible for creating the Ghost Warriors and plans to destroy it. Ozotto then notices the presence of another behind him and turns to see Hatchiyack who he can sense has a Dragon Ball on him too. Meanwhile knowing that the Kaio-ken will not last long Vegito rushes to defeat him. The two eventually end up in an evenly matched beam struggle: Final Kamehameha vs. Hard Disaster Laser, however Vegito suddenly defuses.

Golden Great Ape Cumber

In the anime, Cumber launches a Power Ball into the sky which causes him to transform into a Golden Great Ape and fires another blast at Vegito, though he immediately splits back into Goku and Vegeta, having used up all their power. As Cumber continues his rampage, launching blasts in the surrounding area, the barrier covering the Prison Planet begins to crack though it goes unnoticed by Fu who is eager for the fighting to continue. Having defused back into Goku and Vegeta, Goku suggests cutting off Cumber's tail to revert him back to normal. As Cumber fires yet another blast at the Saiyan pair, Goku and Vegeta avoid it and fly directly upward, transforming into Super Saiyan in the process and attempt to get to Cumber’s tail but even at his great size he proves to be swift enough to defend himself. As he steps on Goku, Trunks rushes in to help and tries to cut off the Golden Great Ape's tail with his sword but is struck hard to the ground. Along with his father, they fire a volley of blasts though they do no damage to him. Even when Golden Cooler fires blasts of his own, Cumber is still unfazed.

Super Saiyan Blue Goku

Meanwhile, Fu continues to watch the battle from his laboratory, smitten by the current events when a nearby computer, informs him of the damage to the Prison Planet's barrier and decides to go to the battle himself to control matters. Goku still remains under the foot of Cumber, struggling to get free but is then seemingly crushed. However Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan Blue and throws Cumbers foot off of him. Charging directly towards Cumber, Goku uses the Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken x20 and strikes Cumber in the face though he is unmoved. Goku fires a Kamehameha though the move is blocked.

Fu powers up

The ongoing battle causes the barrier to break down even more when suddenly Fu arrives, telling Cumber to watch what he is doing as he declares that he will rein him in. Fu powers up into an empowered state and gathering the energy from the Power Ball to his sword, he strikes at Cumber which causes him to revert to his normal state. Cumber throws a punch at Fu but he easily avoids it. While the others comment on what he just did, Fu tells them to continue their battle as he teleports away, avoiding Cooler’s blast in the process. In the manga, Fu appeared because his computer warned him that the battle was getting too intense and was threatening the seal on the Prison Planet. Cumber attacks him but using Double Sword Style, Fu manages to cut Cumber's tail off.

Super Saiyan God Goku

Cumber powers up once more and Goku vows to take him on as he transforms into a Super Saiyan God as Cumber appears to recognize it. Super Saiyan God Goku battles it out against Cumber but is defeated once again though the chains holding Prison Planet break down even further in the process. Meanwhile at Fu's laboratory, Fu finds that all of his monitors and equipment have been destroyed by an unknown assailant causing him to become deeply angry.

Prison Planet Awakening Saga

Goku, now having reverted to his normal form, attempts to attack Cumber but is easily overwhelmed and beaten without mercy. Cumber manages to knock Goku out unconscious. Cumber steps on and blasts away at a helpless Goku and attempts to finish him off for good but the blast is deflected by the immediate arrival of Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta in their Super Saiyan 4 forms. Cumber does not know who they are, but is willing to take on all challengers.

Super Saiyan 4 Xeno Vegito

Cumber vows to cut loose and begins his transformation into a Super Saiyan 3. With his ki being described as being incredible, Xeno Vegeta suggests using the Potara to fuse as a one time exception and the two become Super Saiyan 4 Xeno Vegito. Xeno Vegito charges into battle with Cumber and the intensity causes more chains to shatter. Xeno Vegito fires a Kamehameha and Cumber counters with an attack on his own. After a mighty struggle, Xeno Vegito overpowers and seemingly defeats Cumber, pushing him into and destroying the final chain and the seal around the Prison Planet.

Xeno Vegito vs. Cumber

In the manga, Cumber creates a tail made out of Ki which causes his power to shoot up higher. Initially he battles Super Saiyan 4 Xeno Vegito with this power but he is shown to be at a disadvantage so he transforms into a Super Saiyan 3 which then proves to be a bit too much for the fused warrior. Elsewhere, Golden Cooler and Future Trunks continue to battle the Ghost Warriors as Majin Ozotto takes on Super Grudge Amplification Hatchiyack, Ozotto dodges Hatchiyack's attacks causing him to instead destroy the machine creating the Ghost Warriors. Ozotto pulls a feint so that he can steal Hatchiyack's Special Dragon Ball, then proceeds to forcefully warp Cooler and Future Trunks back to the Green Area along with himself.

Super Fu angry

In the anime, the fusion then runs out and Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta appear once more just as Fu arrives. Realizing that the Saiyans were the one responsible for destroying his laboratory, Fu powers up into his Super Fu form. Knowing that his plan has been ruined he decides to punish them all for what they have done. As Goku twitches, Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta announce that it is their mission as the Time Patrol to capture him and head into battle to confront him. They battle against Fu but appear to be at a disadvantage. Cumber then emerges having recovered from his recent attack from Xeno Vegito and lets off a barrage of ki blasts that attack the nearby environment and all those within his vicinity.

Ultra Instinct returns

As Fu looks towards the planet in the sky, he claims his objective has been achieved and declares that "they" will be revived soon and things will only become even more fun from this point on before teleporting away from the battlefield. Cooler gives chase and is able to enter through the portal before it closes but Xeno Goku is too late. Cumber powers up a large attack which he hurtles towards the group while Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta try valiantly to stop it but slowly get pushed back. Vegeta calls out to Goku to hurry and wake up and he does so just in time to send Cumber's attack away from the Prison Planet, now appearing in his Ultra Instinct -Sign- state once more before further evolving into his complete Ultra Instinct transformation.

The group who wish to destroy Zeno

Goku approaches Cumber who throws a punch in retaliation but Goku easily dodges the punch and hurls Cumber into the cliff side with a swift kick. While Goku battles Cumber, Xeno Goku takes the opportunity to use his Instant Transmission to teleport the rest of the group away from the soon to be destroyed planet. Cumber meanwhile continues his assault on Goku to no avail as Goku fires a powerful Kamehameha that overwhelms his opponent and causes him to fall. However the explosion causes the planet in the sky to further crack and from it, Fused Zamasu, now with cybernetic implants emerges along with several allies and obtains Cumber's body before teleporting away. Now in danger of being caught up in the Prison Planets explosion, Goku lets out a mighty yell.

Ultra Instinct Goku appears beside Xeno Vegito

In the manga, when Trunks suggests getting away from the Prison Planet, Goku tells him that he is not done with Cumber, and transforms into Ultra Instinct and takes over the battle in Xeno Vegito's place. Meanwhile, Ozotto quickly steals the remaining Dragon Balls as the fight between Ultra Instinct Goku and Super Saiyan 3 Cumber rages on and heads away to make his wish. When Oolong attempts to get away from the action in the form of a rocket, he sees Ozotto and the Dragon Balls below. Right before Ozotto makes his wish of having an undying and unageing body, Oolong wishes for all the prisoners on the planet to be released. Goku and Cumber prepare to fire their strongest attacks at one another, when a white light takes everyone back to where they belong - also breaking the seal on the Prison Planet and sending the planets away. However upon returning to Beerus' planet, Vegeta, Trunks and Mai realize Goku never came back from the Prison Planet.
