Photon Bomber (フォトンボンバー Foton Bonbā) is an Energy Wave used by Vegeta (in his Super Saiyan form) and Krillin.

Overview

First, the user raises his right hand as he curls his fingers and charges a white energy sphere. Then, he brings his hand forward and fires the energy sphere in the form of an energy wave at the opponent, inflicting a great amount of damage.

Usage and Power

Vegeta uses this attack while searching for Dr. Gero. Frustrated that he could not find Dr. Gero, Vegeta insults the Android and yells for him to show himself. When Dr. Gero still does not appear, Vegeta flies up into the air and fires the Photon Bomber down below. However, Dr. Gero runs out from where he was hiding and absorbed the Photon Bomber's energy, much to Vegeta's surprise.

Vegeta charges a Photon Bomber in Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan

In Dragon Ball Z: Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan, Vegeta uses the Photon Bomber again against Broly to no effect. This time, the energy sphere is transparent and blue in color. The Photon Bomber during this instance was powerful enough that when Vegeta was charging up the attack, Goku cleared the area in a panic just prior to him firing, and had the resulting detonation send Paragus flying.

In Dragon Ball: Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans, Vegeta uses it to destroy the Destron Gas Machine on Tongari Tower (a tower in West City), charging it in his base form and throwing it in his Super Saiyan form, but it has no effect. Future Trunks uses a similar technique against Frieza in his Ghost Warrior form in Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans, but Frieza comes back.
