Perfect Barrier (パーフェクトバリヤー Pāfekuto Bariyā) is a variation of Android Barrier used by Cell in his Perfect Form.

Overview[]

Perfect Cell curls his arms and legs together as he charges a purple aura around his body. He then brings them apart and expels a giant barrier around his body, capable of blocking certain attacks, similar to the Super Explosive Wave.

Usage[]

Perfect Cell uses this attack during his battle with Goku in the Cell Games. After regenerating from Goku's Instant Kamehameha, Cell begins exchanging blows with Goku, and he eventually overpowers and punches the Saiyan down into a cliff. Cell then charges after him, but Goku emerges from the rubble and attacks him with a powerful barrage of energy blasts. Unable to withstand Goku's assault, Cell activates his Perfect Barrier, allowing him to block Goku's energy attacks, though both are left exhausted in the process.[13]

Variations[]

  • Max Barrier - A variation used by Cell Max in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.
    • I'm about to activate Cell Max! - A team attack where Magenta after suffering defeat presses the button to activate Cell Max, who proceeds to use Max Barrier. Magenta's Unique Ability in Dragon Ball Legends which summons Cell Max to perform Max Barrier if Magenta is defeated with battle members remaining.
  • High Power Barrier - A scale down variation used by Perfect Cell in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z.

In The Legend, it is Cell's ultimate attack.

In the Budokai series, it is named Energy Field and Cell shouts "Field open!" when he uses it. It functions similarly to Android 17's and Android 18's barriers, though it is slightly larger and green in color. In Budokai 2, Super Buu can also use it after he absorbs Cell.

In the Budokai Tenkaichi series, it is named Perfect Barrier where it is Perfect Cell's Ultimate Blast. Its color wi green in Budokai Tenkaichi and Budokai Tenkaichi 2 but was changed to its original purple color in Budokai Tenkaichi 3.

In Burst Limit, Cell can use it in his Semi-Perfect form, and it has distinction of being the largest barrier in the game, since it covers half the screen when used in his Perfect Form.

In Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2, Semi-Perfect Cell has a similar attack where he absorbs the opponent and uses the Perfect Barrier, somehow causing damage to the opponent.

In the Raging Blast series, it is Cell's Ultimate Attack.

In Ultimate Tenkaichi, it is Cell's Super Attack.

In Tap Battle, it is colored yellow.

In Battle of Z, it is Perfect Form Cell's Special Attack, and he also has a scaled-down version named High Power Barrier as his Super Attack.

In Xenoverse, it is named Energy Barrier and is Perfect Cell's Evasive Skill. The barrier can be held up by expending energy. It also appears as Mira's Evasive Skill and can be obtained by the Future Warrior as a reward in Parallel Quest 23: "Clash! Perfect Cell!". In the Demon God Demigra Saga, Villainous Mode Full Power Frieza can use this skill.

In Xenoverse 2, Energy Barrier returns as an Evasive Skill for Cell and Mira. It can be randomly obtained by the Future Warrior by defeating Cell in Parallel Quest 32: "Multiple Cell Jr. Hunt". As part of the "Legend Patrol Pack", Villainous Mode Full Power Frieza can use this skill.

In FighterZ, the green version is named Energy Field and is Cell's level 1 super attack.

In Dokkan Battle, it is named Energy Field where it is the super attack of The Deadly Cell Games Cell (Perfect Form) & Cell Jr., Bloodcurdling Message Cell (Perfect Form), and The Final Battle Begins Cell (Perfect Form).

In Kakarot, it is named Barrier and is one of Perfect Cell's Super Attacks.

In Gekishin Squadra, it is named Energy Field where it is Perfect Cell's Super Attack.
