Papoi (パポイ Papoi) is the best warrior of the South Area. He is mentioned by South Kai in the Dragon Ball manga and makes an appearance in the Dragon Ball Z episode "Take Flight, Videl".
Appearance[]
Papoi is a muscular humanoid warrior with light blue skin and long brown hair. He wears a lower purple gi secured by a reddish-brown belt. Papoi dons red and white wristbands and wears a long white cloak on his right side. He wears a hat resembling a chef's hat with a blue gem embedded in it.

In the manga, South Kai boasts that Papoi as being the strongest warrior in his quadrant, he plans to have him enter the Earth's World Tournament to show up North Kai but changes his mind after seeing Goku's Super Saiyan power.
In the anime, according to South Kai, Papoi gave his life to save his home planet from "something real nasty", which North Kai sarcastically mused to be nothing more than boredom. North Kai and South Kai start to debate who is stronger. While Goku is training in the background with two-ton weights on each of his arms and legs, South Kai claims that Papoi could mop the floor with Goku.
Both Kais gets competitive, so North Kai tells South Kai to increase each weight on Goku to ten tons per weight. At first, Goku can barely move, but then he turns Super Saiyan and starts moving around very quickly. South Kai's jaw hits the ground, and he quickly says that the scared Papoi should not waste his time fighting Goku, making up an excuse that the tournament will be too much of a low-level competition for Papoi (in the Funimation dub, he claims Papoi has a dinner date).[1]

Seeing Goku's power in his base form, South Kai is confident that he was not a match for Papoi, however he in turn believed that Papoi stood no chance against Super Saiyan Goku.
