"I'm gonna train too, Grandpa. I want to be big and strong like you, and save the world too!" |
Pan (パン Pan) is the granddaughter of Earth's hero, Goku and the world champion, Mr. Satan. Her heritage is primarily Earthling, being the daughter of the Saiyan-Earthling hybrid Gohan and the Earthling Videl, thus making her a quarter-Saiyan. She's been stated to have inherited Gohan's great potential.

How does Pan's potential compare to her father, Gohan?
At what age does Pan appear in Dragon Ball GT?
Appearance
As a child, Pan's short hairstyle resembles her mother, Videl. She also has a pale skin complexion, and inherits her black eyes from her father, Gohan. As a teen, she has a hairstyle similar to her grandmother, Chi-Chi as it is shoulder-length and has black hair just like her paternal grandparents, her parents, her uncle and her maternal grandfather. She wears a red crop top exposing her midriff, sports an orange bandana on her head, chains on the right side of her gray capris' jeans and finger-less gloves much like her mother wears in Dragon Ball Z and wears dark gray boots resembling the ones Trunks wears. She wears a blue-school bag as well. However, one of her most prized possessions is her grandfather Goku's Turtle School Uniform, given to her as a child.
As a baby in Dragon Ball Super, her hair is tied in a tiny ponytail and has four strands of her hair on front and wears only a light pink onesie and a pink bib with her name imprinted. In both Dragon Ball GT: A Hero's Legacy and the end of Dragon Ball: GT, Pan appears as an elderly woman with long gray hair and wears a pale-yellow fisherman's hat with lavender linings on her head. She wears an orange vest with golden yellow upper linings with a lavender hoodie and a white short sleeve undershirt, pale blue denim long skirt and sneakers.
Personality
During her first appearance toward the very end of Dragon Ball Z, Pan is an extremely confident child who is extremely independent for her young age, flying around the world without the accompaniment of any family or friends, showing little fear in the face of danger, although she will display behavior usual for her age, such as crying over losing at a fair game. She prefers to take control of a situation and takes credit for something she had little to no part in, such as collecting the Black Star Dragon Balls, like her maternal grandfather.
In Dragon Ball Super, as a baby, Pan was shown to be very playful and easily amused, smiling and laughing when Piccolo was making faces at her, whenever Gohan (in his Great Saiyaman disguise) and Mr. Satan are either play-fighting against one-another or chasing her around. Even as an infant, she took delight in fighting, which was seen when she playfully kicked Future Trunks, pulled on his hair, grabbed his nose, and tried to steal his sword. Gohan admits that he believes the reason behind Pan's brash behavior is because he gets soft with her and can't bring himself to discipline her, therefore she has been spoiled by her family since birth.
In Dragon Ball GT, due to her young age in the series, if the simplest of negative things happens to Pan, she can exaggerate its importance and set off her fiery temper. Simple mistakes, such as losing to a video game, can cause her to storm off or blame somebody else for her own mishaps without much of a second thought. Despite these tantrums, Pan does truly care for her family in her more sincere moments and will assist them any way she can. Pan is also shown to be a tomboy, similar to her mother, wishing to fight when she can rather than stand on the sidelines. She also is rather violent verbally and physically, not unlike her paternal grandmother Chi-Chi and Goku has even pointed out Pan's similarities to her grandmother. In the animanga, Pan refers to Vegeta as "Uncle Vegeta", even though they are not blood related, signifying a meaningful bond between Vegeta's family and Goku's in Dragon Ball GT, however their families are shown to have drifted apart by Age 889 as she and Bulma Leigh do not know each other. She is close friends with the children of the other Z Fighters and shares a unique bond with her grandfather Goku; in GT, despite her initial disgust with his child form, Pan still loves him and is constantly worried about him in midst of intense battles. In GT she is shown to find Poperu's gentle and ladylike personality attractive and cute but becomes frustrated when she ends up scaring him off when she uses her strength to foil a bank robbery.
In various video games, Pan is shown to be embarrassed by her parents' superhero alter-egos Great Saiyaman and Great Saiyaman 2 as she finds their posing and costumes to be uncool and embarrassing. In Dragon Ball Fusions, Pan is also shown to hate the dance like poses used to perform Five-Way Fusion and like Vegeta she hates having to pose to perform fusion even stating she does not want to perform Five-Way Fusion again after fusing with Kid Goku, Kid Goten, Kid Trunks, and Tekka to form an Ultra Fusion, though despite this she is seen smiling when performing Five-Way Fusion. She also dislikes the Para Para Brothers' Para Para Boogie for the same reason as she finds it stupid and tacky. However, despite this she uses the technique herself in the Xenoverse series and in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, she is shown to be more interested in fusion and even asks the Future Warrior if they want to try fusing sometime while she is their instructor.
Despite being more dedicated to the martial arts and possessing great potential, in GT she is shown to have little interest in growing stronger or improving her strength through additional training, though this may be due to growing up in peaceful times around more experienced and extremely powerful fighters like Goku and Vegeta, whose strength she often relies on when the Earth is under threat by powerful villains like Baby Vegeta, Super 17, and the stronger Shadow Dragons like Nuova, Eis, Syn/Omega Shenron. However, in Xenoverse 2, she demonstrates an interest in acquiring the Super Saiyan form, though it is implied that this is partially out of vanity due as she likes the form's golden blonde hair and rhetorically asking the Warrior if they thought she would look good with blonde hair. She has also stated that her goal is to be strong like Grandpa Goku, so while she does wish to grow up to be a strong martial artist like him someday, she is in no hurry to surpass him as a child or teenager.
Despite being only 1/4 Saiyan, Pan is somewhat more dedicated to her martial arts training, though this is likely due to the influence of her family and growing up around some of Universe 7's most powerful martial artists. It may also be due to her status as the granddaughter of Mr. Satan as he wishes for her to carry on his martial arts legacy. However, in GT, Pan herself is shown to reject the idea indicating that while she enjoys martial arts, she has little interest in taking her maternal grandfather's place.
In Dragon Ball Online, Pan ends up becoming an instructor for the Pan Fighting Network after she is forced to subdue a mob of angry customers who hated Mr. Satan's Telecommunicated Satan-style Martial Arts Course after they storm Satan House which results in a big scandal, leading to the course being rebranded as Pan Fighting Network. However, like her father and grandfather, she is shown to have no desire to publicly take on the role of Earth's hero and savior as an adult, as she chooses to conceal her identity wearing a Saiyaman-like costume while fighting the Frieza Force at age 41 after they invade in Age 820 following the death of her grandfather Mr. Satan, despite the fact she could have easily fought the Frieza Force without wearing such a costume (which she is known to dislike) as most of the Earth's population would have not been surprised if granddaughter of the late Mr. Satan were to defend the Earth from invading aliens as her superhuman abilities would be expected of someone related to Mr. Satan and the fact that it would have likely attracted more business for Pan Fighting Network, showing she has no interest in profiting off of her exploits or her status as Mr. Satan's granddaughter. However it should be noted that she tells the Future Warrior in Xenoverse 2 that when she grows up she's going to be like both of her grandpas and will get super famous saving the galaxy and everyone will love her for it, though this may be attributed to her being a teenager and presumably grew out of it as she got older (of course it could also be due to differences in the GT and Dragon Ball Online timelines).
Biography
Background
Before being born, Pan helped her grandfather, Goku, from inside Videl when he needed the power of five righteous Saiyans to reach Super Saiyan God and battle Beerus the God of Destruction.
Dragon Ball Super
Golden Frieza Saga
Pan is born in May of Age 779, in the months following the fight with Beerus. Videl stays at home to take care of her. Gohan works as a science researcher and goes to conferences, while being a father to Pan and a husband to Videl. Mr. Satan is also a caring grandfather to Pan, spending much time with her, and wanting her to be his successor. Gohan also wants Pan to be a martial artist.
One day, Mr. Satan is visiting Gohan's house to see Pan. When Gohan gets home from a science conference, he changes into his Great Saiyaman persona, and spars with Mr. Satan while he holds Pan. This amuses Pan, but Chi-Chi scolds them. She wants her granddaughter Pan to grow up to be "lady-like". Later, Chi Chi, Bulma, and Videl talk about Pan's upbringing. Videl decides that she wants Pan to grow up the way she would want to, and she sees no problem with her becoming a martial artist, because she met Gohan as a martial artist.
Pan is later being babysat by Piccolo as her parents went shopping and she enjoyed the funny faces and peek-a-boo game he played with her until her parents show up and Videl holds her gently.
Pan was then seen being comforted by her mother when she begins to cry but both of them were unaware that Frieza was destroying the Earth and were killed until Whis undid the event with his Temporal Do-Over so that Goku could kill Frieza once more. After that, Gohan returned to their home and promised to protect them both as Pan smiled to see her father once again. She later attends the feast with her mother thrown by Bulma with her family and friends.
Universe 6 Saga
Pan is taken along with her mother to the Nameless Planet where the Tournament of Destroyers is being held. She is seen in the arms of her grandfather, Mr. Satan. After two hours and forty-five minutes of traveling, they eventually arrive on the planet. Pan is with her mother during the tournament and they watch the first match between Goku and Botamo. While Vegeta was beating around Cabba violently, Videl frantically covers Pan's eyes.
Copy-Vegeta Saga
While Gohan and Videl are away on business, Piccolo has been babysitting Pan at their house. Goku, Chi-Chi and Goten take over when their house is destroyed, however Piccolo stays. That night, Pan is sitting on the rooftop with Goku and Piccolo. Pan playfully raises her hands in the sky and looks at the stars, while Goku apologizes to her, saying that if he was feeling better, he would fly her into the sky.
That morning, Pan crawls out of the house and ends up in the hands of Pilaf, Shu and Mai, who are outside of the house planning. They realize from overhearing Goku and Gohan's phone conversation that she is Gohan's daughter. Not wanting to be caught, the trio flee on their Pilaf Machine, but Mai reveals she had taken Pan with her. While Pilaf is panicking, Pan starts crying, then soils her pants, causing the Pilaf Machine to smell bad. Pilaf and the others fly high into the sky, and Pilaf accidentally hits a button, causing the Pilaf Machine to be destroyed. Pilaf, Mai and Shu then realize they are being carried by Pan, who has powered-up and is floating in the sky. Pan realizes she can reach the stars, and begins flying around. Pan drops the trio in a random location, and flies back home.
When Gohan and Videl arrived back, Pan cheerfully greets them at the door. Goku, Goten, Chi-Chi, and Piccolo, who were frantically looking for Pan the entire time, are exhausted but tell Gohan and Videl that Pan must have crawled in the closet or under the bed overnight. While Gohan holds Pan, she reaches out for Goku, calling him "Gramps." Gohan then reveals he turned down his job offer to stay at home and take care of Videl and Pan.
"Future" Trunks Saga
Gohan reunites with Future Trunks and decides to take him to meet his family. When he meets Pan, she squirts milk from her baby bottle at his face. She then proceeds to do the same to Gohan and Mr. Satan, and then floats in the air. Gohan goes into his Great Saiyaman persona to get her down from there. Later, when Mr. Satan asks Trunks to watch Pan while he helps Videl with her cooking, Pan playfully grabs him and then kicks him in the stomach. When Gohan returns from doing his report, Pan and Trunks are seen pulling on Trunks's sword in a tug-of-war like manner. Pan finally lets go when Gohan tells her to, and is next seen playing with sand while Gohan and Trunks are having a conversation. She is last seen when Trunks is about to bid farewell to Gohan, Videl, Mr. Satan, and herself.
She later ended up having her life threatened by the Watagash possessed Barry Kahn after his attempts to ruin her parents' marriage fails and is kidnapped while Gohan and Videl were putting her to bed. However she is rescued by Gohan in his Great Saiyaman persona who defeats Watagash and Barry as "Super Great Saiyaman".
Universe Survival Saga
After the Tournament of Power had ended. Pan is seen at the celebration of Team Universe 7's victory where she is flying around cheerfully and then flies herself into Vegeta giving him a bump on his forehead and comically grabbing his mouth. Goku laughs at this which is when Vegeta gives a gesture at him for a sparring match.
Super Hero Saga
One day, a now three-year-old Pan is picked up by Piccolo after kindergarten due to her parents being busy. They return to Piccolo's House where Pan shows an interest in becoming a superhero like Goten and Trunks who have recently had to give up their antics due to not studying enough. After bravely catching a frog that leaps off a cliff, Piccolo decides to begin training Pan.
Nine months later, Pan continues her training under Piccolo having improved greatly in a short amount of time. However Pan finds herself frustrated at her lack of ability to both fire Ki Blasts or fly though Piccolo tells her that there is no need to rush as she is only three years of age. When Piccolo notes that she appears to have more talent than her father, Pan asks if it is true that her father could be stronger than her grandfather if he wanted to, realizing that she has never seen her father fight before to which Piccolo tells her that he would if the need arose. Following their day of training Pan heads off home.
One day after kindergarten she is approached by Soldier Number 15, a Red Ribbon soldier who pretends that her mom asked him to pick her up. Without hesitation she knocks the soldier out with a punch to the gut. When Piccolo appears, also in the Red Ribbon outfit, Pan is quick to notice who he is. Pan boards an aircraft with Piccolo who explains that he wants to use her as bait to re-awaken Gohan's fighting spirit, a plan that Pan is all too happy to take part in. She is then taken to the Red Ribbon Base where Piccolo, still in uniform, pretends to stand guard over her when Gohan arrives to save her.
Gohan soon enters into combat against Gamma 1, but coming up short, Piccolo pretends to grab Pan by the scruff of the neck in order for Gohan to unleash his true power. Sure enough the ploy succeeds. Eventually Gohan and Piccolo turn the tables against the Red Ribbon Army and Magenta and Carmine make a break for the underground lab. Pan breaks out of her handcuffs and chases them down with Carmine pulling out his fire arm and taking shots at her. After Gamma 2 uses his weapon to disarm Carmine, Pan lands a couple blows on him that knocks him unconscious.
Soon afterwards, Cell Max arrives on the scene causing nothing but mayhem and destruction. Pan stays at Bulma's side as the others battle the giant android. During the battle, Piccolo tries to hand Gohan a Senzu Bean but a blast from Cell Max causes the bean to go flying. Just before it falls into the debris below, Pan leaps off a building after it. During that moment, Pan finally learns how to fly and tosses her injured father the bean, telling him to fight hard. Upon awakening his true power, Gohan defeats Cell Max with help from Piccolo, Goten and Trunks.
Following the battle, Pan races off to hug her father, though is initially skeptical of his unusual appearance. She then shows off her new ability to fly in front of the whole group much to Piccolo's surprise who says that the next phase of her training will begin tomorrow.
One day after school, Pan is picked up by Gohan, Piccolo and Goku. Not familiar with her grandfather she points and asks her father who he is. After being told, Pan zips behind Goku and tries to land a kick on him which he blocks with little effort. The two exchange a warm smile and head off home.
Dragon Ball Z
Peaceful World Saga
Pan is shown in Dragon Ball Z at the age of four. In her infancy, she spent a lot of time with Goku, so she trained a lot. When she was 4 years old, she was already regularly flying around the world, and attempting to beat her best times. Before the official start of the 28th tournament, she also accompanied Goku to fairgrounds, although after an incident where a punk knocked her and her ice cream over and then rudely flipped her off, she nearly threw a tantrum until Goku provided her with another ice cream. Though very young at age four, she is well trained by her grandfather, Goku, as she effortlessly defeats Wild Tiger, a large, muscular man, with just two punches that knock him straight into a wall during the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament.
On the closing scenes of the Dragon Ball Z anime, she is fighting Goten and appears to have won, as Trunks holds her hand up in victory (this was presumably not an official match, as indicated by the "Canceled" sign above the outside of the arena, the concept that the crowd was departing and Trunks being the referee).
Dragon Ball GT
Black Star Dragon Ball Saga
"You are not my grandpa! I've got stuffed animals at home bigger than you!" |
"I'm tired of everyone treating me like a little kid." |
Five years after the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament, Pan (now 10 years old) is seen stopping Goku (not knowing who he was) from foiling a bank robbery and does so herself, but accidentally scares off Poperu in the process. After an encounter with Master Roshi, Pan discovers with horror that her grandfather is now a young boy, and soon becomes quite disrespectful towards him, calling him "a pint-sized grandpa who looks like he should still be wearing diapers". When Goku, Trunks, and Goten are preparing to go into space to recover the Black Star Dragon Balls, Pan secretly sneaks aboard and launches the ship before Goten can climb aboard. As the ship is already in space, Goku and Trunks have no choice but to let Pan come with them.
After leaving Earth in the spaceship designed by Bulma a piece of the ship falls off and Goku, Trunks, and Pan are forced to crash land on the planet Imecka to get the parts needed to repair the ship. Groups of merchants' swarm Pan and the others and they have to go to the gold star hotel to hide from the swarms of sellers. Pan laughs at her grandpa since he is a luggage when the robot picked him up and head towards the room. They then realize they are being charged every second for everything in the hotel, including the lights. They escape without paying and stumble upon the house of an old couple and their children. They talk about Don Kee, the ruler of the planet and how he mistreats his rule, just then Don Kee's men come and repossess the old couple's house saying they were behind payment. Goku suggests that they go and fight Don Kee, but the couple says that is impossible because of his grand army.
On their way back to the ship, Trunks drops the Dragon Radar and it is swallowed by the small robot T-2006, nicknamed Giru, who says that he cannot give the radar back to them because it is already integrated into his system. Meanwhile, Goku notices the ship being dragged away by Don Kee's men. He tries to use Instant Transmission to teleport them to the ship but discovers after two failed (and comical) attempts that, due to his age reversion, his control over the ability is significantly weakened (during the second attempt, Pan shouts, "Grandpa, if I live, please remind me to kill you!"). They are forced to travel to Don Kee's palace on foot to recover their ship. Pan decides that they will use a stealth operation to recover the ship and would only result to fighting as a last resort.
After briefly sneaking around, a large rock falls on Trunks' head and Giru starts making noises that alarm the guards. The guards open fire on Goku, and the others and Pan says that they must fight now so Goku agrees. Pan jumps in the carrying car while Goku moves the ship onto the car and Pan drives the ship out of the palace with Goku and Trunks. But while escaping, Don Kee's henchmen Gale and Sheela fire a ki blast at Goku who reflects it back with ease towards Ledgic, Don Kee's right-hand man who recognizes them as Saiyans. Pan and the others escape but Trunks says they have to go back into town for more parts due to Pan's "reckless driving". Once they reach the town everyone hides and Trunks finds the three of them on Imecka's most wanted list. While running from Don Kee's men they fall into the house of a nice old couple who offer them food after realizing Goku and company mean no harm. They say that Don Kee made it a law that no one is allowed to own a ship so that no one would escape the planet including the old couple. Pan gets fed up and convinces Goku and Trunks to go face Don Kee head on.
They turn themselves in to the police and get brought to the palace. Once there Goku and Trunks and Pan incapacitate Gale, Sheela, and all of Don Kee's guards. Then Goku blasts his way into Don Kee's throne-room. Don Kee sicks Ledgic on the fighters after capturing Pan in an energy chamber. Ledgic says that he will fight Goku but for his own satisfaction. After a short fight Goku defeats Ledgic and they take down Don Kee and make him give everyone free rent and give them back their ships free of charge. Plus, Don Kee gives them the parts they need for free, and they leave Imecka. They then land on an unnamed planet where everything is larger than life.
They find the Four-Star Ball in the tooth of a giant on Monmaasu and they go to the next planet. Another unnamed planet they find the Six Star Ball in the hair of the princess of the village, Leena. Trunks asks for the ball but her fiancé' Doma said that they were in a large problem already. The amphibian creature Zoonama was threatening the village with earthquakes and volcanoes if they did not give him Leena. Goku decides that he would help them out in exchange for the Dragon Ball and they agree. Pan attempts to force Goku to disguise himself as Leena in order to cut off Zoonama's whiskers after he lets his guard down, but upon realizing that Goku is too short to pull it off convincingly, the two force Trunks to do so. Zoonama comes and takes Trunks to his lair. Trunks gets Zoonama drunk and Goku arrives with Pan and Doma. Doma slices off Zoonama's left whisker with a huge pair of scissors and as he cuts off the left one Zoonama awakens in a drunken rage. He begins to wiggle his whiskers and an earthquake begins to come but stops soon after while Zoonama continues to wiggle his whisker. Pan realizes that he cannot cause earthquakes only predict them but now he is so tipsy that he did not realize that the quake was over. Suddenly a really big earthquake erupts and Goku and the others leave the cavern with Zoonama. Goku then stops the huge volcano with a Kamehameha, saving the city and winning the Dragon Ball. Just as they are leaving the planet, Bon Para, one of the mysterious Para Brothers, arrives and takes the ball from Pan's hands using his telekinesis. In shock, the three Z Fighters just watch as he leaves.
Trunks, Pan and Goku jump in the ship, and they chase after the Para Brothers' spaceship. The brothers trick them onto the asteroid of Beehay inhabited by huge, bloodthirsty, worm-like creatures called Mouma. The Para Brothers escape and fly to planet Luud. They go to Cardinal Mutchy Mutchy who tells them that they have failed, and that Trunks has another Dragon Ball on his ship that they failed to get, and they must go retrieve it. They travel back to find Goku, and the others and they get hypnotized by the Para Para Boogie until they are saved by the hungry Mouma. Pan goes aboard the Para Brothers' spaceship to find the Dragon Ball that they stole. She accidentally activates the autopilot and is brought to Luud. There she is captured and turned into a doll for the evil lord Dolltaki. Goku shows up with Trunks and kills Cardinal Mutchy Mutchy, who reveals that he is actually two parts: the body and the whip, which transforms into Mutchy and fights Goku. Trunks finishes Mutchy off with the Brave Cannon and saves Goku from his whip arms.
Then Dolltaki turns everyone except for Trunks, Himself and Goku into dolls and feeds them to the machine deity called Luud. Dolltaki then awakens Luud who takes him and Pan inside of Luud's body to gain their energy. While Luud fights Goku and Trunks Pan forces Dolltaki to tell her the weakness of the seemingly invincible Luud. Dolltaki reveals that Pan must strike the inside of Luud's mechanical heart while Goku strikes the outside at exactly the same time. After multiple tries Pan and Goku finally succeed and destroyed Luud, freeing all of the people. Pan then takes back his Dragon Ball and they leave the planet.
Soon afterwards, they land on Rudeeze, a desert planet that is populated by giant sandworms who badly damage the ship. While repairing the ship, Goku and Trunks discuss taking Pan back home and picking up Goten; unfortunately, Pan overhears them and, distraught, rushes off into the desert, determined to prove herself to them by finding the Dragon Ball alone. However, she soon runs out of water, ultimately collapsing from a combination of dehydration and heat exhaustion. Giru tracks her down and saves her, finding both water and the Dragon Ball in the process, and Goku and Trunks, upon discovering this, decide to allow Pan to stay.
Baby Saga
After Giru convinces Pan and the others to land on Planet M2, they are lured into a trap against a group of strong Machine Mutants known who call themselves the Sigma Force. With Goku and Trunks captured, Pan infiltrate the machine base and disguise herself as a Myuubot. After accused of being defective, she is tossed into a room full of defective robots. After learning the location of Goku and Trunks from one of defective robots, she escapes the room along with all of the defective robots. After fighting and defeating Nat, she is knocked out by Bizu. After the fight with General Rilldo, they learn of Dr. Myuu's plan to take over the universe using a neo machine mutant called Baby.
After gathering all seven Black Star Dragon Balls, the trio returns to Earth. By this time Baby has control of Earth and has Goten and Gohan attack Pan, who is unaware that her uncle and father are possessed. Pan is saved from a fatal attack from the possessed Gohan by Goku. Goku tells Pan to leave before he fights Baby. Pan watches as Goku faces down Baby's Revenge Death Ball and presumes him dead when it hits (in reality Goku was transported to an alternate dimension). Pan then hides with her grandfather, Mr. Satan in the innards of Majin Buu.
Later Pan along with Majin Buu and Mr. Satan go to the newly formed Tuffle planet in hopes of stopping Baby. Pan is attacked by her father and mother, Gohan and Videl, but is saved at the last minute by Uub. When Goku turns into a Golden Great Ape, Pan confronts him, shows him the Turtle School uniform that he gave her and a picture of the family at the beach, and then finally breaks down crying, asking "Grandpa, you wouldn't hurt me, would you?" Upon seeing this, Goku comes to his senses, transforms into a Super Saiyan 4 and asks Pan if he was the one who caused all the damage to the Tuffle planet. Pan says yes and Goku tells Pan it will be alright and goes off to fight Baby. Pan later gives Goku energy with which to recover so that he could fight Golden Great Ape Baby Vegeta, which allows him to badly beat Baby and forces him out of Vegeta's body by blowing off his tail, and then with the energies gained from Goten, Gohan, Trunks, and Pan, blasts him and his spaceship into the sun, killing him.
Super 17 Saga
A year later during the 31st World Martial Arts Tournament, Pan does well and makes it all the way to the semifinals. However, she withdraws from the tournament after fearing to take her grandfather Mr. Satan's place as his successor.
Later, Pan helps fight off the numerous villains that have appeared from the portal between Earth and Hell. She notably fought the members of the Red Ribbon Army: Captain Yellow, General Blue, and Staff Officer Black. She and her grandfather Mr. Satan are attacked by General Rilldo when her father Gohan saves them. Soon, as the Z Fighters fight against Super 17, Pan attacks and captures Dr. Gero. With Giru's support, she obliges the doctor to call off Super 17 when he was about to finish Vegeta, but Dr. Gero is unable to do this because Dr. Myuu had reprogrammed Super 17 and proved it by telling Super 17 to kill Dr. Gero. Pan is knocked out and Giru is damaged when Super 17 fires the Full Power Energy Wave meant to destroy Dr. Gero.
After Goku defeats Super 17, Pan helps gather the Dragon Balls again to restore the Earth and the people who died during the battle.
Shadow Dragon Saga
"Wait a sec. These look like the same clothes Grandpa was wearing before he went off with Shenron." |
After Goku set off to find the Shadow Dragons, Pan decides to follow him. When she catches up with Goku, she bribes him into letting her come with him by telling him that he will not be able to find the Shadow Dragons without Giru who Pan has brought along. The two combat (and defeat) Haze Shenron, Rage Shenron, Oceanus Shenron, and Naturon Shenron, with difficulties in each battle. In the battle against Naturon Shenron, Pan is absorbed by the Shadow Dragon, who uses Pan's power against Goku, putting Goku at a stalemate. Pan constantly begs Goku to finish off Naturon and forget about her, but Goku cannot destroy the monster in fear of losing Pan. Eventually, after tricking Naturon, Goku manages to free Pan and kill the Shadow Dragon once and for all.
The true challenge begins when Goku and Pan meet Nuova Shenron, the Four-Star Dragon and a master of fire. Nuova easily knocks out Pan, but does not finish her off, instead wanting to fight fairly in favor with Goku.
Later, Pan along with everyone on Earth and some from other planets across the universe give energy to Goku's Super Ultra Spirit Bomb in order to finish off Omega Shenron. After Goku leaves with Shenron, Pan grabs his clothes, which Vegeta tells her to treasure dearly. After Vegeta leaves, Pan bids farewell to Goku.
The very last part of Dragon Ball GT also shows Pan as an elderly woman and is now a great-great-grandmother to Goku Jr. after 100 years, making her 110 years old. During the 64th World Tournament match between Goku Jr. and Vegeta Jr., Pan meets a woman who resembles Bulma and is Vegeta Jr.'s mother. Later, she sees Goku in the stands (now all grown up again and without a tail), and tries to find and talk to him, but Goku disappears in the crowd. Pan is last seen in one of the flashbacks in the end of Dragon Ball GT.
Film appearances
Battle of Gods
Even before being born, Pan helps her grandfather, Goku, from inside Videl when he needs the power of five other righteous Saiyans to reach the Super Saiyan God form and battle the God of Destruction Beerus.
Resurrection ‘F’
Seen as only an infant, Pan is being taken care of by Piccolo at Gohan's House until Videl returns home after shopping with Gohan.
Super Hero
Pan appears in Super Hero as a major character. She is a kindergarten student and although she is only 3 and a half years old, she has been training under Piccolo and shows signs of having great potential[3]. Pan heads to Piccolo's before starting school for a sparring session to which Piccolo notes that she shows much more promise for her age than Gohan once did. However, Pan is still unable to grasp how to fly though Piccolo tells her such a thing will come naturally in time. Pan then quickly zooms off to school.
After school has finished, Pan waits outside with her teacher to be picked up. However, she finds herself approached by a strange man who claims that her mother asked him to pick her up. Quickly noticing the lie, Pan knocks the man unconsciousness in an instant. Piccolo, dressed as a Red Ribbon soldier approaches her and despite the helmet covering his face, Pan is quick to notice his real identity. Piccolo explains his plan to Pan, wanting her to pretend to be kidnapped and in distress so that her father will come rescue her and hopefully get back his fighting instincts. Pan all too gladly accepts the role and not long afterwards Gohan comes for her just as Piccolo had hoped.
When the combination of Gohan and Piccolo cause Magenta's plans to go awry, he rushes off to release Cell Max with his aide Carmine behind him. Pan knocks out several soldiers and Carmine attempts to shoot her, but he too is knocked out by the young Saiyan. Unfortunately, Cell Max is still released and causes havoc on the base with Pan learning to fly at will at the just the right moment to escape incident. After Gohan and Piccolo defeat the monstrosity, Pan quickly rushes to give her father a hug and shows off her new flying skills.
A Hero's Legacy
"You think you can get rid of me that easily? This old gal's not ready to kick the back yet." |
100 years later in Age 889, Pan is over 100 years old, and is shown to be an spunky old woman still in excellent physical shape, though somewhat frailer. She has a descendant called Goku Jr., who is a spitting image of his ancestor, Goku. Pan trained Goku Jr. as she sees him having the potential to be just like his ancestor, and hence she is sometimes exasperated by his apparent lack of interest in training. When she falls ill and is admitted to a hospital in the movie A Hero's Legacy, it sparks her descendant Goku Jr. to go on a journey to try and find a cure for her. She is shown to have gotten better by the end of the film.

With customer claims that Mr. Satan's Telecommunicated Satan-style Martial Arts Course is worthless rapidly spreading, disgruntled customers flood Satan House in Age 794, prompting Pan (age 10-15) to subdue them. The event becomes a big scandal and the Telecommunicated Satan-style Martial Arts Course is then re-branded as the Pan Fighting Network, with Pan as the instructor. Afterwards, Pan asks Bulma to help her develop a system for people to battle each other across long distances so that she could create a Telecommunicated Martial Arts Dojo. From this point on, the sports-like fighting course became very popular, especially among young people. In Age 820 when the remnants of the Frieza Force lead by Frieza's Guard Troops invaded, after the death of her grandfather Mr. Satan whom the Guard troops had mistakenly assumed was responsible for killing Frieza due to his reputation, Pan at age 41 joins her father, uncle, Trunks, Krillin, and Tien in combating the Frieza Force. In order to hide their identities, she and the other Z Fighters put on Saiyaman-like costumes, but their ki-based fighting style still becomes a hot topic and global interest in "ki" (which had been introduced to the general populace by her father's book Groundbreaking Science) escalates.
Xenoverse
As part of the GT Pack DLC, Pan appears in Toki Toki City as one of the masters brought to Age 850 by Chronoa to train members of the Time Patrol. The Future Warrior can train under her to learn her skills.
She appears at various points during both parts of the game's GT Saga. In Age 789, she is attacked by Infected Trunks who is empowered with Villainous Mode's second stage by Demigra's Wormhole which causes him to target her to prevent her in calming down Golden Great Ape Goku. The Time Patrol send the Future Warrior to protect her to ensure she calms down Goku so he can transform into a Super Saiyan 4. The Future Warrior is successful and Goku manages to transform, though the defeated Dark Great Ape Baby is swallowed up by Demigra's Wormhole. SSJ4 Goku later thanks the Future Warrior for helping protect Pan.
Later in Age 790, Pan, Giru, and Goku encounter Dark Nuova Shenron. However, Giru detects another Dragon Ball and runs off forcing a confused Pan to chase after him. Goku later asks the Future Warrior who arrived to help fight Dark Nuova Shenron to check on Pan and Giru while he deals with Dark Nuova Shenron alone. This proves fortunate as Pan and Giru encounter Dark Eis Shenron. The Future Warrior and Pan manage to defeat Dark Eis Shenron together, but Dark Syn Shenron steals Eis and Nuova Shenron's Dragon Balls to transform into Dark Omega Shenron. SSJ4 Vegeta arrives and tells Pan to stay back as Dark Omega Shenron is far too dangerous for her to deal with. Pan flees to safety leaving everything up to the Future Warrior, Vegeta, and her Grandpa Goku. Vegeta and Goku fuse into SSJ4 Gogeta and join the Future Warrior in defeating the GT villains Dark Great Ape Baby, Dark Super 17, and Dark Omega Shenron after being swallowed by Demigra's Wormhole with Omega Shenron.
Xenoverse 2
- Patroller Academy Instructor
In Age 852 in Conton City, Pan is one of the Super Class Instructors for the Time Patroller Academy recruited by Elder Kai and Chronoa. Her first student is the 2nd Future Warrior (indicating she is a different incarnation than the Pan that trained the Toki Toki City Hero in Xenoverse) after they manages to pass her Initiation Test. She can then be selected as their active Instructor.
"If I trained really hard, do you think I could transform into a Super Saiyan, too? Wouldn't I look super cute with blonde hair? Look at that reaction! You totally want to see it!" |
While training the Future Warrior, she asks them if they think she could train really hard to become a Super Saiyan and thinks she'd look super cute with blonde hair, before teasing them about wanting to see it after noticing their reaction. However unfortunately she is unable to achieve the transformation in Xenoverse 2.
If the Future Warrior achieves maximum friendship with Pan and Future Gohan, a special event between the two occurs inside Orange Star High School. She mistakes him for her father (his GT counterpart) and calls him dad, though he notes she is mistaken. She notes his resemblance to her father and wants to introduce him to her dad and grandpa (GT Gohan & GT Goku). Neither of them realizes their biological relation to one another. Pan humorously finds his wild look to be cool and wishes her father were more like him (indicating she prefers his rougher and serious personality over her father's presumably finding GT Gohan too bookish and geeky).
After the 1.09.00 Update, she gains a new customizable skillset which allows her clothing color, stats, skills, and Super Soul be customized though some features must be unlocked with TP Medals and her Initiation Test must be completed for it to become available. She also gains a Dual Ultimate Attack skill called DUAL Maiden Blast which the Future Warrior can learn after reaching Partner Level (maximum friendship) with her as an instructor then speaking to her.
She will tell them she would like to try fusion with them like Goku and Vegeta did, though she admits she's a little apprehensive about fusing and decides that it would best to start by learning how to coordinate their attacks together instead resulting in her teaching them her Dual Ultimate Attack skill.
- Satan House Time Miniature
In the large Rift in Time that formed around Satan House, Giru is broken, and his parts scattered across Planet Tuffle. Pan seeks help from her parents to help collect his parts so he can be repaired. Gohan and Videl in their superhero alter-egos seek the assistance of the Saiya Squad's allies Jaco and the Future Warrior (aka Great Saiyaman 3 or Saiyanoob in the FUNimation dub) to help them and Pan in their task as the Shadow Dragons (Eis, Nuova, and Omega Shenron) have appeared on Planet Tuffle. Pan is not too happy with her parent's playing superhero but puts up with it to repair her beloved robot companion and friend Giru. Thanks to the Future Warrior's assistance they manage to find Giru's parts and Pan finds one of Jaco's missing spaceship parts during the search. This is the Future Warrior's final mission with the Saiya Squad.
- Warrior of Hope Saga
During the climax of the Super Pack 4 DLC's Warrior of Hope Saga, in the altered Age 796 of Future Trunks' timeline, Villainous Mode Rosé Goku Black misuses his Time Ring in conjunction with his Scythe to create a massive Rift in Time which connects it to countless timelines including the GT timeline. When Super Saiyan Anger Future Trunks is struggling against Villainous Mode Grotesque Zamasu and realizing the energy of the surviving Earthlings isn't enough and pleads for more power which comes from an unlikely source: the Rift in Time created by Black. Pan, GT Trunks, and GT Goku answer his call for more energy which joins the energy of Present Gohan (DB Super), Present Piccolo (DB Super), Future Gohan, Teen Future Trunks, and Trunks: Xeno as well as countless others. Future Trunks channels this energy into his sword to create the Sword of Hope which he uses to physically slay Grotesque Zamasu which causes the rift to close.
World Mission
- Chapter 2, Sub Chapter 2 - "Hero Town in Danger!"
In the extra dimensional space in Chapter 2, Sub Chapter 2: "Hero Town in Danger!", Beat is walking around doing a little exploring and starts to feel hungry though fortunately he has some candy on hand. However, before he can eat it, he literally stumbles upon a sleeping Mr. Buu who then wakes up after a five-minute nap. Buu says hello to Beat who he refers to as "tiny man". After Beat introduces himself, Buu is surprised he knows who he is and Beat explains Buu is famous, causing Buu to think out loud that he maybe should build an entourage. Beat asks what Buu is up to and Buu explains Pan wanted to train with him, so he hid from her. Beat asks why he doesn't want to train with Pan and Buu explains that Pan is tiny and does not want to hurt Pan as Mr. Satan will get mad. Beat understands he doesn't want Pan's maternal grandfather on his case. Buu's stomach growls and Pan offers him his candy claiming he has extra thought to himself that it was all he had, but he's happy to let go of it to make Buu's day.
Suddenly Pan appears having found Buu and says like it or not he's training with her. Buu says no and his answers final as Mr. Satan said Buu flatten Pan into pancakes. Pan says he doesn't have to listen what her Gramps says as she sure doesn't. However, Buu says Mr. Satan is his main source of chocolate and doesn't want to jeopardize it. Pan angrily says fine he can his precious chocolate. Beat is surprised by how strong Pan is and Buu asks Beat for a favor. Buu says he knows Beat is strong even though he is currently hiding his true power but Buu can sense his hidden power. Beat tries to persuade Buu he has nothing to hide but Buu gets the idea to have Beat fight Pan for him and tells him that is his cue, causing Beat to note this situation is spiraling out of control. Buu tells Pan if she can win against Beat, then he will train with Pan himself. Pan accepts Buu's proposal and as a result Beat and Note battle to determine if she will have her chance to train with Buu.
- Training with Pan 1
However, Beat by this point is strong enough to tangle against fighters as powerful as the Demon King Dabura and as a result Pan loses to the relief of Buu. Beat however is impressed by how power the young Pan is calling the little girl a dynamo. Pan says no fair and that Buu planned for this to happen. Pan says it's time to level the playing field and that she's bring backup. Buu says she can fight Beat all she wants as Buu has no problem with Beat fighting Pan in his place. Pan says this is far from over and flies off. Beat wonders to himself what he's been dragged into.
- Training with Pan 2
"Hey, if anyone deserves praise, it's Pan. It's not often you almost get floored by someone whose age can be counted on one hand." |
Buu says he knew Beat's body had big power though Beat says if anyone deserves praise it's Pan as it's not often you almost get defeated by a kid her age. Buu agrees saying that as the daughter of Gohan, its fate for her to become so strong it's scary. Beat says he better make sure she doesn't overtake him.
As promised, Pan returns to challenge him again this time with back up from Kid Uub. Beat tries to get Buu to takeover fighting Pan, but he refuses. Buu senses Uub (who he calls "Mohawk Man") has similar power to himself and decides to fight Uub himself while Beat fights Pan. Beat and Buu manage to defeat Pan and Uub. Uub realizes he's not ready to strike out on his own yet and needs more training from Goku. Buu however says he's pretty strong, though Uub is confused as he could hardly touch Buu and decides to go back to his training.
Pan however refuses to give up and that they aren't getting out of their agreement. Beat laments how Pan is bent on seeing him hurt.
- Training with Pan 3
Buu senses more opponents on the way and realize its Kid Trunks and Kid Goten. Beat realizes those two will be trouble and Buu agrees saying their fun-size fighters, but strong together, very strong referring to their fusion Gotenks.
Trunks who was racing to the battlefield with Goten wins causing Goten to complain forcing Trunks to placate him by promising to let him pick out one of his toys to keep. Pan arrives last and complains both of them are too fast. Trunks tells her if she wants to play with them, she's got to keep up and asks if she is really Pan as he's not convinced. Pan says yes for the umpteenth time. Trunks says she's awful big compared to the Pan they know. Goten insists they must have travelled through time and Trunks agrees as the Pan they know is still a baby which Goten notes is Freaky but cool. Trunks bets his mom's time machine went haywire and caused the universe to fast-forward. Beat thinks to himself it is definitely the result of an anomaly, but it's better to let them think what they want.
Trunks asks Beat if he's the kid who beat Pan and Beat halfheartedly confirms it. Trunks says he doesn't look that strong before noticing Majin Buu is there too. Buu says long time, no see as he hasn't seen the younger incarnations in years due to them growing up. Goten asks if they are fighting Buu as well, but Buu says he won't and that only Beat will fight them. Goten is relieved not to have to fight Buu, before saying Pan told them Beat was super strong. Beat says she might be exaggerating some details but either way, he's glad he gets to fight the two of them and Goten says he feels the same. Trunks says sorry if they hurt him before the match begins.
Beat wins after a tense battle and Pan shocked that he managed to defeat Trunks and Goten. Trunks compliments Beat on his tight moves. He then asks Goten if he's thought what he's thinking and Goten says yes, noting Beat won't know what hit him. Trunks tells Beat to come back when he's ready to have his socks blown off. Beat says if they're going to do what he thinks than his winning streak might be coming to an end.
Power
- Anime and Manga
As a baby barely able to speak, Pan is already able to use her ki and to Power Up. After being kidnapped by the Pilaf Gang, an angry Pan destroys their flying robot. Once it's destroyed, Pan manages to stay floating in Earth's upper atmosphere before she eventually flies back to the ground, with the three members of the gang hanging on her leg.
While in the care of Future Trunks, she was able to single-handedly destroy an entire living room, and caused the former to struggle while handling her, although this was comic relief. Future Trunks acknowledged the fact that she is Gohan's daughter after all. Pan also kicks Future Trunks in the gut, making him feel pain.
In the Super Hero Saga, while training with Piccolo, he notes that Pan seems to have more talent than her father.[6]
During the Peaceful World Saga, Pan (at the age of four) is already a skilled fighter, having been training with her grandfather, Goku, since her infancy. During the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament, she effortlessly defeats Wild Tiger, a giant and muscular man, with just two punches. In the anime, she also manages to defeat Goten in his base form.
In the Baby Saga, Pan is able to defeat Natt (Who was among the Sigma Force when it was stated by Goku that they were as awesome as the last foe he faced, Luud.) of the Sigma Force and is strong enough to knock down base form General Rilldo - whose ki was greater than Buu's - in two blows and after witnessing this, a shocked Trunks asks if Pan was stronger than him. However, during her second attempt on a now serious Rilldo, had barely even fazed the General, though in turn she was barely fazed by his attack against her. However, before both she and her grandfather were encased in metal by Meta-Rilldo's Metal Breath, Pan was able to dodge a swipe from the transformed General and even knock him away with a single kick. She is shown to be able to easily defeat Infant Baby alongside her grandfather & Trunks. It is impossible for Pan to escape from 68.47x gravity.[7]
During the Super 17 Saga, Pan is able to take Dr. Gero by surprise and restrain him, with the Android also expressing shock at Pan being so strong for her age.
In the Shadow Dragon Saga, Pan is able to easily overpower Haze Shenron and deal enough damage to force Oceanus Shenron out of her Princess Oto form with a Kamehameha. Like her mother, Pan's fighting style is to wait for her opponent to attack, and then using their own strength against them in a dodge or counter, playing on their momentum. Since she has inherited Saiyan blood and possesses a high-power level, Pan has the potential to turn Super Saiyan when the proper conditions are met, such as the arrival of the evilest of dangers.[8]
- Statements by authors and guidebooks
According to Akira Toriyama, his reason for never having any female Super Saiyans was that neither Pan nor Bulla had the incentive to transform, and that he never drew female Super Saiyans because he could not figure out what they would look like. Daizenshuu 7 implies that she may have the potential to become a Great Ape or Super Saiyan, but has never become one. As the Daizenshuu explains, Pan's inability to transform was not due to the small percentage of Saiyan blood in her, as Goku Jr. still was able to perform the transformation despite being the great-great-grandson of the already 1/4-Saiyan Pan which would reduce his Saiyan heritage to no more than one 1/64, making him almost completely human, however this merely was misinformation.[9] The Dragon Ball GT: Perfect File implies that Pan has the potential to transform and might have become a type of Super Saiyan never seen before.
- Video Games
In Xenoverse, alone GT Pan is no match for Dark Infected Trunks though with the assistance of the Future Warrior, together they manage to defeat him which allows Pan to focus on helping calm down Golden Great Ape Goku allowing him to transform into Super Saiyan 4. Similarly, by working together with the Future Warrior she was able to defeat Dark Eis Shenron. However Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta told her to get back as Dark Omega Shenron was too powerful and dangerous for her to take on and SSJ4 Vegeta had her retreat so he and the Future Warrior (and SSJ4 Goku when he arrived) could fight Dark Omega Shenron without worrying about her safety.
In Dragon Ball Fusions, inside the Time Space rift she learns two types of fusion and spares against her grandpa (Dragon Ball Super timeline) in his Super Saiyan Blue form with the rest of Tekka's Team. She also battles and trains with many fighters within the Timespace Rift alongside her team making her much stronger than she was in her timeline of origin. When first entering the rift, she was able to deliver a punch strong enough to comically knock Kid Trunks (Base) for a loop, though he was caught off guard at the time as she attacked as she jumped from the time hole into the Satan City area of the rift as she was presumably in mist of battle or training when she was transported into the rift. She is classified as a B-Rank fighter putting her power on par with Android 17, Android 18, Android 19, Android 20/Dr. Gero, Dabura, Dodoria, Kid Goku (DB), Kid Trunks (base), Young Gohan (base), Goten (base), Jaco, Nuova Shenron, Turles, and Zarbon who are all B-Rank. As a B-Rank fighter, she is stronger than C-Rank fighters such as Bulla, Chiaotzu, Gine, Great Saiyaman 2/Videl, Guldo, Nappa, Raditz, Saibamen, and Yamcha.
"True. She daughter of Gohan. It fate for her to become so strong it scary." |
In World Mission, Beat is amazed by the strength of the game world Kid Pan, noting to Majin Buu he almost got floored by her during their fight and Buu agrees saying it is fate for her to become scary strong due to being the daughter of Gohan. However, in terms of speed she is inferior to the game world base Kid Trunks and base Kid Goten who meet her due to an anomaly, as she is unable to keep up with them while flying complaining they are both too fast when they race to confront Beat after hearing about his strength as she comes in last after her uncle Goten, while Kid Trunks came in first. She also shocked when Beat manages to defeat them. Additionally, despite being a Kid she is shown to be able to pull off the Kamehameha, which in the GT timeline she didn't master until the Shadow Dragon Saga though it is unclear if this is due to the anomaly or not.

In Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle, the costume appears as a playable form called Pan (GT) (Honey) which can be acquired through the Bonus Event: "Pan's Secret Adventure".

Pan is given the Villainous Mode power up in Dragon Ball Xenoverse during DLC Parallel Quest Event: "Revenge of the Tuffle". While using this power up her eyes glow red, and she gains a purple and black aura.

- Infected
Pan is infected by Super Baby 2's Tuffle parasites in a time fragment timeline featured in New Parallel Quest 124: "Downfall of the Ultimate Saiyan" in Xenoverse 2 as part of the Extra Pack 3 DLC. Like her infected mother, father, uncle, and paternal grandmother, Pan becomes a loyal follower of Baby and opposes her Grandpa Goku. She and Infected Trunks lend Baby their power allowing him to defeat Super Saiyan 4 Goku. However, doing so causes Pan to lose health, and the Time Patrol defeat Pan and Trunks to stop them from giving energy forcing Baby to transform into Great Ape Baby. Infected Pan and Trunks receive the Villainous Mode power-up but are defeated and presumably freed of the parasites.
- Saiyaman-like Costume

Trivia
- Pan's name is the Japanese word for bread, which in turn comes from the Spanish word "pan" also meaning bread.[11] It continues the food-based names of Gohan's family.
- Coincidentally, Pan is also the name of a Greek deity who was associated with the Devil due to his goat legs. Thus, Pan's name also continues the family naming traditions of her mother and grandfather.
- Pan could also refer to pan pipes, an instrument often attributed to said Greek deity, thus making the name a tribute to Piccolo.
- Pan is the first offspring of a Saiyan-Earthling hybrid (Gohan) and an Earthling (Videl) making her the first 1/4-Saiyan 3/4-Earthling. Additionally, she is also the first female Saiyan-Earthling hybrid as she was born a year before Bulla who was the first female 1/2-Saiyan 1/2-Earthling hybrid. Interestingly, her father Gohan was the first 1/2-Saiyan 1/2-Earthling and first male Saiyan-Earthling hybrid born, as well as the only Saiyan-Earthling hybrid to be born with a tail.
- So far, Pan is the youngest female character in Dragon Ball history to have the ability to fly, having done so as an infant. However, she shares this trait with Turbo Norimaki, who was the youngest male character capable of Flight as an infant in both Dragon Ball and Dr. Slump. However, Pan is shown to be a more advanced flyer as she produces a visible aura when flying while Turbo uses it for simple levitation.
- However, in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Pan seems to have forgotten how to fly and has to learn how do it again.
- In the original Japanese subtitled version of the Funimation DVD, Goku Jr. is said to be Pan's great-great grandson, instead of her grandson. Since Pan would have been at least 100 when he was born, this would make much more sense considering the huge age gap between the two, giving more room for the other generations. This also decreases the Saiyan blood in him, though, he is still able to transform refuting the idea that Pan's lack of a Super Saiyan transformation was due to her Saiyan blood being diluted (which would not make sense as Goku Jr. and Vegeta Jr. have even less Saiyan blood than Pan, yet both can transform). Another strange fact is that while Pan lacks the Son surname that all her paternal relatives (except Chi-Chi) possess, her great-great grandson is referred to as Son Goku Jr., which is not possible (even if Pan did use the surname, after all), as that would mean whichever parent that Goku Jr. inherited his last name from would have inherited it from Pan, who would be their great grandmother. It is however possible that they merely stuck the surname to the boy for his similarity to his ancestor.
- In "episode 9", when the others learn of Videl's pregnancy, Chi-Chi suggests they name Pan "Gomen" (which is both the puns on the Son boys "Go" and noodles "men").[12] However, this was before Chi-Chi or anyone knew the child's gender and was just a suggestion to Gohan and Videl.
- Pan appears with Goku, Trunks and Giru in a chapter of the Dr. Slump sequel series, Dr. Slump Returns.
- In Xenoverse 2, if the Future Warrior is a Saiyan while training under Pan she may ask them "If I trained really hard, do you think I could transform into a Super Saiyan, too? Wouldn't I look super cute with blonde hair? Look at that reaction! You totally want to see it!" This indicates she wishes to one day attain the form herself.
- Ironically, in the Xenoverse series, if Pan's Bandana is worn by Female Saiyans (which causes their hair style and color to match Pan's) and a Super Saiyan or Super Saiyan 2 transformation is used, the hair will turn golden blonde, despite Pan having yet to achieve the transformation herself.
- Interestingly, in the latest patch of Xenoverse 2, the hair on Pan's Bandana no longer turns blonde, instead simply glowing like other wigs.
- It should be noted that Daizenshuu 7 and Dragon Ball GT: Perfect File both state that Pan and Bulla have the potential to attain the transformation if the proper conditions are met, such as the arrival of the evilest dangers. The main reason why she and Bulla never did was Akira Toriyama that at the time couldn't figure out how to draw female Super Saiyans (this was before female Super Saiyans appeared in official Dragon Ball media such as video game's character Note as well the appearance of Caulifla and Kale in Dragon Ball Super) which is the main reason why Pan and Bulla lack Super Saiyan forms despite both possessing the potential to do so. However, given the appearance of female Super Saiyans now, it is possible that she may acquire the transformation at some point in the future.
- In Xenoverse 2, Pan expresses interest in performing fusion with the Future Warrior twice once during conversation. After the 1.09.00 Update, she wants to try her hand at Fusion Dance, though is apprehensive about fusing and decides she and the Future Warrior should work on combining their attacks first resulting in her teaching them her Dual Ultimate Attack skill instead. However even after filling her Partner Gauge there is still no fusion between the two, indicating she presumably got cold feet, fusion between them was too difficult, and/or she found the fusion dance poses too embarrassing.
- In Dragon Ball Fusions, Pan can utilize the Fusion Dance to perform EX-Fusion while wearing a Metamo-Ring. Though she herself complains about having to perform the fusion dance poses for both EX-Fusion and Five-Way Fusion (however ironically, she smiles while performing either of them) as she finds them uncool and embarrassing which fits with her dislike of posing in general. Presumably she puts up with it for the sake of the power of those fusions provide.
- In Future Trunks' timeline, Pan does not exist due to the fact that her parents never met, her father Future Gohan was killed by the Androids, and the fate of her mother Future Videl in that timeline is unclear.
- In Xenoverse 2, Pan meets Future Gohan in a special event where see mistakes him for his counterpart though he tells her she is mistaken and neither realize their relation. Humorously, Pan considers him cooler than her dad and notes that she wishes her father were more like him.
- In World Mission, it is revealed that Beat is a descendant of Goku's though it isn't specified whether he is descended from Gohan or Goten's family lines thus it is unclear if Beat is a direct descendant of Pan's (as she is Gohan's only known child) or blood relative if he is descended from her Uncle Goten's family line.
