"Uttering the word "piggy" will cause the unlucky ingestor of this hard candy to experience an intense bowel movement. Invented by Bulma partially just for amusement. Its effect lasts for a month."
Special Candy Z Encyclopedia entry in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot

PP Candy[2][3] (PPキャンディー PP Kyandī) is a medicine made by Bulma.

Overview[]

PiggyPiggy

Effects of the PP Candy

Bulma used the PP Candy, disguised as a vitamin, to make Oolong obedient. She tricks him into eating it, but after he eats it, any time she yells "Piii Piii!", he would have stomach cramps and diarrhea. In other dubs, she yells "Piggy!" and in the manga she whistles "Swee!" (a call used by farmers to let pigs know when it's feeding time).

The effects only last for one month. Indeed, it wore off by the time of Dragon Ball Z as in Dragon Ball Z: The World's Strongest, Bulma calls Oolong "piggy" without any effects.

Video Game Appearance[]

The PP Candy is trophy No. 18 in Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure.

In Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z, PP Candy is an item that decreases HP by a large amount.

In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, it is implied that the Majin Time Patroller Bentora accidentally ate some while investigating the Capsule Corporation time rift anomaly, though it only gives him a really bad stomachache implying that Majins is only partially affected presumably due to them having a stronger digestive system (as they can survive eating Poisonous Mushrooms in the same game).

In Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, it appears as Memorabilia Event Item under the name Special Candy received upon locating the "Trick in the Treat" Memorial Spot which recounts Bulma giving the candy to Oolong after he proves to be a flight risk. This unlocks both its entry in the Memorabilia index for the Z Encyclopedia's Items section. If picked up by Goku, he will wonder if he can eat it, but sniffs it first and is able to determine he'd likely get sick if he ate it. Also, as part of the -Trunks- The Warrior of Hope DLC, PP Candy plays a role in the Episode 3 Sub Story: "Android Admirer".

Trivia[]

  • In Kakarot, it is revealed that PP Candy is Mango flavored due to Sweet Mango being one of its primary ingredients, while the other ingredient Purgemint is apparently the primary ingredient responsible for its effects on the consumer's digestive system.
    • Additionally, it is shown in the game that pure Saiyans like Goku aren't fooled by the candy's sweet scent as Goku is able to determine that it would make him sick if he ate it by smell alone, while hybrid Saiyan Future Trunks doesn't notice anything suspicious about its smell indicating he is fooled by the candy's sweet mango scent which is described as intoxicating (at least to Earthlings & Earthling hybrids).
    • Despite its negative side effects, in Kakarot it is noted to be Tasty-Looking in its name and according to Future Oolong it is as tasty as it looks and smells.
