Overview

In Italy the series was imported for the first time in Junior TV in 1989, where, however, came only 54 episodes, the issue was integral with a fairly faithful adaptation and with the original opening and ending themes, also keeping the Japanese dub when someone performed a technique (as was the custom in Fist of the North Star).[1] Even the names of the characters, objects and techniques were kept unchanged, except for some exceptions. The dub, done by Rome-based studio Play World Film, suffered of restrained costs, typical of the Italian editions of the 1980s and 1990s by local TV channels, so you can hear a few actors dubbing several characters in each episode among the main and secondary characters.[2]

Yamato Video Srl, Italian company of the audiovisual market dedicated to Japanese anime has recovered the dubbing for the new DVD editions option to Mediaset and Japanese dub.[3]
