Offensive Techniques make up the majority of all techniques in the Dragon Ball series, both manga and anime, as well as Nekomajin and Dr. Slump. From energy waves to martial arts, offensive techniques are used to subdue the opponent. There are a vast number of Offensive Techniques that appear in Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, Dragon Ball Super, and Dragon Ball Heroes. The Offensive Techniques' counterparts are Defensive Techniques.

One example of an Offensive Technique, and probably the most used technique, is the Kamehameha wave. It is used by a many people during the series and is also the most recognized technique. There are a great number of variations to this technique, most of which were developed by Goku. To perform the Kamehameha, the user cups their hands, draws them to their side, and the ki is concentrated into a single point between the cupped hands. As this is happening, the user shouts "Ka-me-ha-me-HA!!!". As the last syllable is uttered, the hands are then thrust forward to shoot out a streaming, powerful beam of energy.

Another example of an Offensive Technique is an Energy Sphere, the Spirit Bomb. Many people consider the Spirit Bomb to be the most powerful technique in the whole series, however this depends on how much energy is donated to it. Goku and King Kai are the only two known users in the anime, however, Gohan and Krillin did rebound the bomb once. To use it, the fighter must stand with their feet apart and their arms straight up in the air. The user then draws in every ounce of energy available to them, either from the Planet, Universe or Galaxy. To assist the Spirit Bomb, inhabitants of the Planet can donate their energy to the bomb.

A final example on an Offensive Technique, is Rush Attack. The Meteor Smash is an attack which is first seen in the Frieza Saga, where it is used on Frieza's full power form. Goku is the only known user of this attack and to perform it, Goku first shouts "It's over!" as he proceeds to punch the opponent in the stomach. Then, he punches the opponent again, causing them to be knocked backwards, to which he flies after them and delivers a right hook kick to their face. Finally, Goku knocks the opponent away with a left axe kick to the side of their head, inflicting a massive amount of damage to the opponent.
