Moori is the elder of the Namekian village and grandfather of Cargo and Dende that Gohan and Krillin first saw Frieza attacking. His fighting power isn't high, but he is very clever. He manages to destroy all of Frieza's Scouters. This causes Frieza's collection of the Dragon Balls to be seriously delayed. Frieza later orders Moori to be slain. Dodoria carries out Frieza's order, and breaks Moori's neck with his bare hands.

Moori is included in the wish to bring back those killed by Frieza and his men. Shortly before Guru dies again, he names Moori as the new Grand Elder, saying that the Dragon Balls will shine again. Moori and his people eventually travel to a new planet similar to Namek with the help of the Dragon Balls.

The next time Moori is seen is in the movie Return of Cooler. Moori is seen being taken into slavery by the Cyclopean Guards. Moori appears again in the Kid Buu Saga, when the Namekian Dragon Balls are needed to solve the Majin Buu crisis. It is revealed that because of Frieza's past attack on Namek, that Moori has powered up the Namekian Dragon Porunga — giving Porunga the ability to bring multiple people back to life with one wish.
