Minoru Okazaki (岡崎 稔; born on September 27, 1942) is a Japanese anime series director from Osaka who works for SynergySP.

Biography

Wanting to work on live-action films, Minoru Okazaki moved from Osaka to Tokyo. Thanks to a friend from junior high school who became animator, Minoru Okazaki helped in the creation of the animation production companies Hatenapuro in 1964. In the same year, he worked on the storyboard and a debuted as director for the anime TV show Astro Boy for Mushi Production.

During the course of his career, Minoru Okazaki was a director for Dr. Slump and Arale-chan, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, and the Dr. Slump remake. He also directed the movies Dr. Slump and Arale-chan: Hello! Wonder Island, Dr. Slump and Arale-chan: Hoyoyo, Great Round-the-World Race, Dragon Ball: Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle, and Dragon Ball: Mystical Adventure, and Kennosuke-sama.

In 1998, he helped in the creation of the animation studio SynergySP with Hiroshi Wagatsuma. Outside of the anime adaptations of Akira Toriyama's manga series, Minoru Okazaki worked on Bug tte Honey, Dracula: Sovereign Of The Damned, Ganbare!!
