Power

Manga and Anime

Frieza is one of the most powerful warriors in Universe 7 and the multiverse as a whole. He was born a mutant with abnormally great power in comparison to the rest of his race.[1] Even though the rest of his family are strong, Frieza has always been in a completely different league.[2] The intensity of Frieza's power, even at his weakest, can effortlessly destroy entire planets. Upon hearing that Frieza was defeated, the God of Destruction Beerus was shocked that this was possible (by anyone besides himself). He is also recognized as a prodigy of such innate talent and natural growth that he became known as the most powerful warrior in the universe with no real training or proper fighting style. Even more, his genetics and raw ability lets him grow considerably in strength and efficiency in a far shorter period than any known mortal. After training for the first time in his life, only four months, he shattered his previous limitations and quickly adjusted to his newfound power, reaching might on the level of gods, a feat all the more impressive considering he did so with virtually no help.

In his First Form, Frieza killed King Vegeta, the strongest Saiyan at the time, with a single blow. Likewise, he destroyed Planet Vegeta and the entire Saiyan race with an effortless blast. On Planet Namek, he fatally pummeled Nail with a single hand, unfazed by all attacks he let the latter land on him. Once at his maximum power of 530,000, First Form Frieza was able to fend off the combined efforts of Vegeta, Gohan, and Krillin despite their considerable growth in respective power, although he did acknowledge that Vegeta in particular became an actual challenge for his first form. In his Second Form, starting out with a power of over 1,000,000, Frieza calmly handled the trio with little effort. Only against Piccolo (recently trained by King Kai and merged with Nail) did Frieza fight seriously, where he demonstrated still being able to amplify his power level further. Once outmatched by Piccolo's full power, Frieza used his Third Form, quickly dominating Piccolo with a torturous onslaught and managed to repel Gohan's massive rage-charged blast with only minor effort. Frieza claims he could easily kill Krillin, Gohan, Vegeta, and Piccolo in his Third Form, but transforms into his Final Form to fill them with fear.

In his Final Form, Frieza's suppressed power of a mere 1% was noted to be much greater than any of his previous form and proved more than a match for the fighters. The Earth warriors failed to see his calm movements. Even after Vegeta received a massive Saiyan Power boost, Frieza required only a slight increase of effort to torture and kill Vegeta. Frieza met his first true challenge in Goku and fought on par with him despite his tremendous Saiyan Power increase. Once utilizing 50% of his full power, Frieza quickly dominated Goku, even overpowering his Kaio-ken x10, noting that even a third of his full power would easily handle Goku. Against Goku's Kaio-ken x20 assault, 50% was enough to disperse Goku's Kamehameha with a single hand, only sustaining minor burns. Frieza survived a Large Spirit Bomb, though it damaged his left eye and severed part of his tail. Once Goku obtained Super Saiyan, Frieza utilizes 100% Full Power, holding his own for a while against Goku, landing some blows, but he is ultimately outclassed.

One year after his defeat on Namek, he was restored with cybernetic parts that made him much stronger than before and Frieza is certain he could defeat Super Saiyan Goku. In the anime, King Kai notes that Frieza's Supernova is ten times stronger than the Death Ball he used to destroy Namek. Still, he was easily killed by Super Saiyan Future Trunks.

In Dragon Ball Super, after being revived and organically reconstituted, Frieza trains for four months, unlocking much of his latent potential. His power increased dramatically, as Gohan openly felt that his highest level of power could not defeat First Form Frieza. Frieza easily defeated Super Saiyan Gohan and killed Piccolo with a single shot. Merely powering-up into Final Form disintegrated nearly all his 1,000 soldiers. In this form, Frieza is strong enough to fight on par with Goku (who had reached the level of gods).[3] Krillin and Gohan note that they could not see either Goku or Frieza's movements (while they had previously seen Super Saiyan God Goku and suppressed Beerus' movements). Against Goku's Super Saiyan Blue, Frieza transforms into Golden Frieza and although the two initially seem on par with each other, Frieza soon proves to be stronger. At full power, Frieza says he could probably kill Super Saiyan Blue Goku in an instant if he was serious. However, Frieza tires rapidly, having not adjusted to his new form, until eventually his blows become ineffective. Upon returning to his normal form, despite his exhaustion, Frieza instantly destroyed the Earth.

In the Universe Survival Saga, despite being immobilized for over a year since returning to Earth's Hell, Frieza continued to grow in strength and skill through constant image training. The led to such refined control of his ki, letting him use his Golden form for extended periods of time with virtually no strain. In the anime, this growth let him remain unaffected by the Energy of Destruction and ultimately take control of it. At this point, Roh noted that Frieza was more of a God of Destruction than Sidra and doubted that the latter could destroy Frieza. Later, True Golden Frieza and Super Saiyan Blue Goku were both knocked out with a simultaneously blow to each other, with Whis noting that the two were equal in power, although Frieza remained in his heightened form. In the manga, Goku and Frieza battle each other ending with both equally beaten up. Based on this fight, Goku is unsure of who would win between Vegeta and Frieza. However, Frieza acknowledges that he is still weaker than Beerus.

During the Tournament of Power, Final Form Frieza eliminated several fighters. In the anime, Frieza easily defeated the likes of Catopesra, Napapa, Murichim (Universe 10's presumed ace fighter) and Jimizu, as well as causing Roselle to purposefully ring out to avoid Frieza's torture and eliminating Frost in his 100% Power form with a single ki blast, although Frost had his guard down. In an attempt to defeat Frieza, Cabba turned Super Saiyan 2 and attacked with a Galick Cannon; however, it was revealed Frieza had taken no damage and had transformed into True Golden Frieza. At this point, Cabba was no match for the tyrant and knocked him out of the arena with a ki blast.

When Goku began struggling against the team assault of Super Saiyan 2 Caulifla and Super Saiyan 2 Kale, despite their combined massive might and perfectly synchronized combos, Frieza saw them simply as entertainment, and when Super Saiyan 2 Caulifla prepared a Crush Cannon to fire at Frieza, Frieza opted to stay in his Final Form and prepared a Death Ball to clash with Caulifla - however, Goku insisted to finish the fight himself.

Against Agnilasa, the combined machine went after Frieza over Super Saiyan God Goku due to believing him to be weaker. Together with the remaining members of Team Universe 7, Frieza engaged in a beam struggle with Agnilasa as True Golden Frieza but still were almost overwhelmed. It was only when Android 17 damaged Agnilasa's energy reactor that Frieza and his teammates were able to knock Agnilasa out of the arena.

In the manga, Final Form Frieza easily caught Lavender and Basil off guard to eliminate them. Frieza overwhelms base Caulifla and despite becoming a Super Saiyan, Frieza overpowers her by simply hurling stone slabs at her. After Caulifla catches Frieza off-guard, the tyrant uses his Golden form and easily made sport of her, even with help from base Kale and Super Saiyan Cabba. When Kale transforms into a Legendary Super Saiyan, Frieza lets his guard down and is beaten down senselessly - believing it is an ordinary Super Saiyan form which he can easily handle. However, despite this he insists to Goku that he would be more than enough to handle Kale once he got serious.

In the anime, Frieza was able to match Dyspo in combat and keep up with his speed. Once he transformed into True Golden Frieza, Frieza was able to easily overpower Dyspo, with Khai noting that Frieza is faster than Dyspo. However, once Dyspo activated his Super Maximum Light Speed Mode, his speed is formidable enough that he pushes Frieza to the edge of the stage. However, after working with Gohan, the two are able to find a way to eliminate him.

While Top is in a beam struggle with Android 17, Frieza sneaks behind him and attacks him with a barrage of Death Beams. The Death Beams injure Top, however, once Top assumes his Destroyer Form, Frieza is pummeled and barely saved from elimination thanks to Android 17's quick thinking. Frieza recovers quickly and manages to briefly paralyze Top with his psychic powers and proceeds to use a number of different attacks, yet unfortunately, they are ineffective, and Top proceeds to break free from the paralysis. Frieza is then hit by an attack from Jiren, yet he remained conscious and later attacked the mighty Pride Trooper but even after becoming True Golden Frieza, he was easily defeated by Jiren.

After Jiren is weakened from fighting Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku, the exhausted True Golden Frieza was able to initially fight evenly with the foe and gained an advantage using his psychic powers. Jiren, however, gets a second wind thanks to Top and soon turns the tables of the fight. Working alongside Goku, he and Frieza showed remarkable synergy together, able to fight on par with Jiren. With the additional help from Android 17, the archenemies were able to push Jiren on the defensive, ultimately allowing Goku and Frieza's finisher to eliminate the foe by dragging him down with them.

In the manga, Frieza was able to easily overwhelm the exhausted Top. After Jiren powered up and easily defeated Super Saiyan God SS Evolved Vegeta, Golden Frieza was confident that even without using his full power he could buy enough time against Jiren to win, and Beerus considered it possible he could turn things around. However, in the end he proved to be outmatched and required Android 17's assistance.

In the Granolah the Survivor Saga, Frieza has trained for 10 years and thus become much stronger than before. As Black Frieza, he is able to easily kill the powered up Gas in one blow. Against Ultra Ego Vegeta and True Ultra Instinct Goku, Black Frieza effortlessly defeated both of them by punching the duo in their abdomens before either of them could react. Goku later asked Whis if the Oracle Fish's prophecy of the strongest warrior in the universe was in reference to Frieza, to which Whis replied that it may be, additionally the title of the chapter referred to Frieza as the universe's strongest.

As noted by Vegeta during the Super Hero Saga, he, Goku, Jiren, Broly, Moro, Gas, and Frieza all possess power on par with each other, however Frieza is capable of wielding it to a higher degree than Goku and Vegeta due to operating in a Relaxed State.

In the Super 17 Saga of Dragon Ball GT, Frieza and Cell are stated to have powered up after training in Hell for many years, and confidently challenge Goku, even after having witnessed him fight an opponent such as Kid Buu. It should also be noted that he and Cell were tasked with dealing with Goku, implying they are more powerful than the villains up to that point who occupied Hell who instead went to Earth, including foes like General Rilldo. Ultimately however, Goku is able to outmaneuver them with his child form's base power.

Super Dragon Ball Heroes

In the anime, Golden Frieza is able to push Goku into taking on his Ultra Instinct Sign form, however once Goku takes on this form Frieza is no match and is quickly knocked down, albeit with only superficial damage.

Films

In the Dragon Ball: Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans OVAs, Ghost Frieza is able to put a fight against Super Saiyan Future Trunks and Super Saiyan Vegeta, thanks to the power boost he got from Dr. Raichi. In Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn, Final Form Frieza appears as the leader of the villains who have escaped Hell; however, base form Gohan defeated Frieza in one blow.

In Dragon Ball Z: The Real 4-D, his power level is greatly augmented to 5,300,000,000 in his true form. He was able to dominate base form Goku, and when he transformed into a Super Saiyan, Frieza, still in his final form easily overwhelmed Goku without a scratch, leaving him barely able to move following their Kamehameha vs. Death Ball clash. When Super Saiyan Vegeta, Piccolo, and Krillin joined the battle, he was able to easily blast them away, only to be killed when Goku created a massive Spirit Bomb.

"Holy crap! That's incredible! Just what kind of training did he do?!"
Goku amazed by Frieza's power when entering his fourth form on Earth

In Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’, upon being revived and regenerated into his fully organic first form, Frieza notes that his power is rusty due to years trapped in Earth's Hell. He also speculated that four months of training could have him reach a power level of 1.3 million, although it was unclear whether that was referring to his overall power level or specifically to the power level in his First Form. After his training, his power easily surpasses the Z-Fighters in his first form and was able to place Gohan into a near-death state with a single blow. Once unleashing the full power of his true form, he was capable of fighting Goku in his Saiyan beyond God state but is inevitably outclassed.

Further Evolution Frieza3

Golden Frieza while he's stomping Goku

As Golden Frieza, the tyrant outclasses both Goku and Vegeta in their Super Saiyan Blue forms,[4] even using his full power, being so strong that one of his suppressed attacks was able to knock Goku back without actually hitting him.[5][6] Even after Golden Frieza's power and stamina dropped dramatically, due to not having adjusted to his new form, he still fought on par with Goku - though Goku could now damage him - until finally Frieza's power dropped enough that he unfazed Goku even with a direct energy punch to the face. After Frieza regresses to his Final Form, he still retained enough power to near-instantly destroy Earth. Even more, as revealed by Whis, Frieza was able to survive the explosion.

In Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Frieza has grown more powerful. Vegeta even feared that Frieza may train and come back one day with a power stronger than his golden state. Against Super Saiyan Broly, in his final form, Frieza was beaten instantly. Frieza was confident in fighting Super Saiyan Broly as Golden Frieza and his resulting transformation forced Broly backwards. However, Golden Frieza's power was still inferior to Broly's newly gained power, while he was on the losing side the whole fight, in the novel it was stated that the punches that Frieza landed were able to stagger Broly, and full power blows were able to force Broly to dodge. Frieza managed to survive Broly's wrath for an entire hour.

Statements by authors and guidebooks

It is said that from the moment he was born, Frieza was already more powerful than King Cold.[7]

Goku and Vegeta vs Frieza

Frieza faces Goku and Vegeta together

In his true form on Namek, Frieza has a power level of 120,000,000 at 100% of full power according to Daizenshuu 7 and several video games. The World of Dragon Ball Z states that Goku and Frieza were equal but the power output of 100% drained Frieza rapidly, which lead to his defeat. The movie pamphlet for Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might states that Frieza has a power level of 85,000 in his first form. Daizenshuu 2 states that Frieza's dormant power in his final form is "immeasurable". At the same time, Akira Toriyama stated in Dragon Ball Volume ‘F’ that even Frieza is no match for Beerus, no matter what he does.[8] The website for Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ states that after his training Frieza is "infinitely stronger" than he was on Namek.[9]

According to The Legendary Manga, Frieza's Second Form is 2x as strong as his First Form.[10]

An advertisement for Dragon Ball Z: The Real 4-D has Frieza state that his power level in The Real 4-D is 5,300,000,000.[11]

The January 2017 V-Jump article on the rivals appearing in Dragon Ball Super noted that Golden Frieza's strength surpasses Super Saiyan Blue, it also ranks Golden Frieza as an 8/12 on the danger scale.[12]

Prior to Goku achieving Ultra Instinct Sign, Frieza and Goku were tied for the No. 1 spot on Team Universe 7 in terms of power.[13]

By the time of Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Frieza has grown in power in his quest to reach the top - but is still not as strong as Beerus.[14]

In V-Jump, Black Frieza's power is said to be close to God of Destruction. It notes that Black Frieza easily KO'd Goku and Vegeta who had reached the realm of the gods, and that the extent of his power cannot be measured.[15][16]

Video Games

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 describes 100% Power Frieza and Super Saiyan Goku as being equal in speed and strength during their final battle on Namek.

In the Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans, Ghost Frieza and Ghost Cooler together are able to hold their own against the Z Fighters but are ultimately defeated. When Ghost Frieza is later fought again on Planet Kuhn, he has further powered-up into Psycho Frieza and is able to hold his own against the entire Z Fighter team at their strongest, but is still defeated in the end.

In the story of Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai, (which takes place two years after Buu's defeat) Frieza is able to tire out Super Saiyan Gohan using his Fourth Form only in his base power, Piccolo and Gohan also reference him as being more powerful than Super Buu. Frieza at full power defeats Legendary Super Saiyan Broly behind the scenes (Legendary Super Saiyan Broly was later shown to give Super Saiyan 3 Goku trouble, meaning that at full power Frieza had seemingly equalled Super Saiyan 3 Goku in power), and is shown to be stronger than Super Gotenks (with Pikkon also referencing him to be stronger than Cooler, Cell, and the aforementioned Broly). Later on in the story, Frieza absorbs large quantities of evil energy, making him far stronger than anyone else on the planet. He uses his evil energy in order to vastly power himself up, giving himself unlimited energy; when this happens, he briefly reclaims his title of strongest in the universe until he loses power due to a large excess of positive energy built up by Krillin and Android 18.

In Dragon Ball Xenoverse, during the Frieza Saga, Frieza is given a dark power up by the Time Breakers. At 100% power in Fourth Form, he is strong enough to fight both the Future Warrior and Super Saiyan Goku at the same time, and even then, in the end Super Saiyan Goku needs to utilize a second Spirit Bomb during their battle. When Frieza returns possessed by Demon God Demigra (four years after the battle with Buu), he - together with the powered-up Cell and Buu - are able to briefly hold their own against the Future Warrior and Goku (who possesses unmastered god power), however they are beaten.

In Xenoverse 2, during the Resurrection 'F' Saga, Elder Kai tells Xeno Trunks that he'll be sorry if he thinks that he can defeat him again with a single swing of a blade. Later 1st Form Frieza is powered up by Towa's dark magic and can take on the 2nd Future Warrior. He powers up into his Golden Form. With the sudden appearance of Meta Cooler, together, they were able to hold their own against Goku, Vegeta (both of whom were in their Super Saiyan Blue forms), and the 2nd Future Warrior simultaneously. In their rematch after the Future Warrior stops Frieza from blowing up the Earth, Golden Frieza, and Meta Cooler further power-up into their Supervillain forms and combat them a second time. However, the two brothers were defeated again (this time for good).

Golden Frieza is said to have unmatched power in promo material for Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission 2. In the opening for Ultimate Mission 5, Golden Frieza is shown deflecting a ki blast from Jiren.

In Dragon Ball FighterZ, Frieza's power hasn't improved much from his last resurrection. With his power (along with everyone else's) being suppressed by Dr. Gero's suppression waves while still capable of handling the likes of Cell and competing against Goku and Vegeta, Frieza however on his own was slaughtered by Android 21.

Abilities

Main article: List of techniques used by Frieza

Death Beam

RoF33

Frieza fires a Death Beam

The Death Beam is Frieza's signature and most heavily used technique. It can either pierce through targets or create a huge city-sized explosion upon impact. To perform the technique, the user extends his arm and fires a small, thin, very fast and concentrated laser-like beam of ki from his index finger. The user is able to fire the attack very quickly and in rapid fire, while maintaining precise aim. The technique has a faster but weaker variant, and a larger and more powerful rapid-fire variant. After perfecting ki control, Frieza developed the ability to fire multiple beams from each finger at once. He can also guide them to strike multiple targets even after each one hitting the first target.

Death Ball

The Death Ball is Frieza's ultimate attack and is usually used as a last resort in battle or as a planet destroying method. The technique is normally a ball of energy charged on the finger and then thrown at the target, though after his revival Frieza displays a more powerful version charged with his whole hand.

Death Cannon

Main article: Death Cannon

Last Emperor2

Frieza uses Last Emperor

The Death Cannon is Frieza's primary Full Power Energy Wave technique. It is a high-powered blast of energy and has different variants depending on the form Frieza is utilizing. A version of it that uses up most of Frieza's energy is a last resort technique of the tyrant.

Psychokinesis

Main article: Telekinesis Frieza possess powerful psychic abilities, primarily using telekinesis to utilize objects to attack foes. By combining his high-class psychic abilities with his tremendous energy he is able to utilize the Imprisonment Ball.

Nova Strike

Main article: Nova Strike An attack where Frieza wraps himself in energy and flies straight at his foe to tackle them. Used against Goku on Namek, and also to eliminate Jiren during the Tournament of Power.

Death Saucer

After witnessing Krillin's Destructo Disc, Frieza quickly created his own upgraded version named the Death Saucer. This technique is the same as the Destructo Disc, however it is much faster and it homes in on its target, following them even if it initially misses. Frieza can also manually control the Death Saucers.

Frieza Forms DBS Broly

Visual demonstration of Frieza's first four forms in Broly

While most beings in the Dragon Ball franchise transform to increase their power, Frieza developed a series of physical transformations to instead restrict and limit his actual strength because it is naturally so immense and powerful that his base/original form struggles to properly control it. He originally had four forms, with his fourth being his true form. Frieza says even upon transforming to his Second Form, he has a hard time controlling himself. That would suggest that the Second and Third forms are mere physical augmentations that allow Frieza to build enough strength to revert to his true form. This also serves to torment his opponents by giving them a false sense of hope. Transforming to a new form appears to fully rejuvenate him and even repair any damage sustained in previous forms as his severed tail in his Second Form was completely restored once entering his Fourth Form.

Years after he was killed by Future Trunks, through a 4-month period of intense training, Frieza became able to instantly transform from his First Form straight to his true form. Also, he obtained proper control of his true form's full power, allowing him to access it unhindered. He also attained two new transformations which greatly increased his power instead.

First Form

Frieza Form 0

Frieza's First Form as a child

In his First Form, Frieza is at his shortest, child-like in stature and likewise youthful face. He has a large chestnut-shaped skull with two straight black horns that protrude at a high angle. He also has a tail with a spiked end, which is relatively thick in width, as well as having three talon-like possible toes for feet. He has purple gem plates on his scalp, shoulders, and chest. The skin on his face, neck, hands, feet, and tail is lavender (light pink in the manga) and the skin on his arms, legs, and the majority of his tail is pink with thin black lines encircling the limbs. He also has similar lined patches of skin under his eyes going down to his jaw. He has large white bracers on his arms and legs with brown sections with lines on the front. He also has white natural armor covering his chest and shoulders. He has red eyes and large dark purple lips.

When Frieza was a child, his first form lacked his typical exoskeleton except for on his head, revealing pink skin on his midsection. The colors of his skin were also different, with his face, hands, feet, and tail tip being a much brighter pink and his arms, legs, tail, and the patches of skin under his eyes being much more red, as well as not having the same black lines that they do in adulthood, except for the skin patches under his eyes. In addition, the plates on his bracers are white instead of brown.

Second Form

Main article: Transforming Ability

Frieza100Million

Frieza in his Second Form

His Second Form appears as a more-mature version to the First Form. It is his tallest form, towering over Piccolo, and his muscle mass grows equally larger, sporting a bulkier and more-defined build. His face also has a more angled jawline and sharper nose while his horns grow longer and curve sharply upwards into near right angles. His voice grows noticeably deeper, further giving the illusion of being more mature. its overall appearance is similar to his father, King Cold. The sheer power it produces cannot contain his armor, causing it shatter apart in a violent manner, potentially injuring anyone in the vicinity (Vegeta got a slight cut on his cheek from one of the pieces flying past him), and leaving his body fully exposed.

Third Form

Main article: Transforming Ability

FriezaThirdFormNV

Frieza in his Third Form

Frieza's Third Form is the most brutish and imposing of them all, with an extremely elongated skull, similar to a Xenomorph. His facial features contort and change, with his nose melding into his mouth to form a crude beak. His horns become covered by his Bio-Suit and he grows a second pair that curve upwards. Two pairs of spikes grow out of his back and curve upward, and the armor on his shoulders fling themselves outward like shoulder pads. He stands upright with a slight hunch, giving a more feral demeanor to him. Frieza stated that no one had ever seen this form before. It's unknown what the exact increase of power in this form is, but he is able to completely dominate the Nail-merged Piccolo, who previously overwhelmed Frieza's second form. However, it was implied that said form was ultimately inferior to Gohan's latent potential, as when Gohan briefly unleashed said potential in an attempt to save Piccolo from Frieza, the latter ended up so infuriated by Gohan's interference that he immediately opted to transform into his final form. In the original Funimation dub, Frieza's voice becomes a synchronized duo of his first and second forms' respective voices. This effect was removed in the remastered version, making this form sound like his second form. In the case of Dragon Ball Z Kai however, it was deeper than second form. On a similar note, the original and remastered dubs had Frieza commenting that the form's appearance was such that he's not likely to win any beauty contests in it, though it nevertheless was powerful enough to "kick [Piccolo's] tail."

Final Form
FriezaFinalFormEp84

Frieza in his True Form

This form is also referred to as Super Frieza (超フリーザ Sūpā Furīza). It is the form that Frieza was born in, thus being his "true" or "base" form. This is the form that allows him to reach his full potential. Drastically differing from his previous transformations, in his Fourth Form, Frieza instead regresses, with his former form cracking and shattering like a shell, becoming a sleek and only somewhat taller version of his first form and his voice becoming higher pitched again. He overall appears as a white-skinned, lizard-like, almost harmless-looking creature; his horns and spikes disappear, and his physique becomes streamlined. His skin becomes pure, solid-white with purple gem plates on his head, shoulders, forearms, abdomen and shins. The pink lined sections on the sides of his face vanish and are replaced with a thin black line coming down from the bottom of each eye. At only 1% of this form's true power, he is noted to dwarf the power shown from his previous forms.

Because of his initial difficulty controlling his true power, Frieza's body is strained when unleashing too much power. As such, he would normally refrain from using this form, and even then, would rely on only a small fraction of his true power. Once unleashing his true power, he proved able to hold his own against Super Saiyan Goku for a period. By the time of his second invasion of Earth, Frieza trained for four months to draw out an extraordinary amount of his latent potential. In addition to vastly increasing in power compared to his fight on Planet Namek and gaining complete control of his final form's capacities, he can with no apparent problems maintain this form for as long as he desires and even access the full force of this form power for extended periods just as calmly. Even more, his mastery allows him to access this form immediately.[17] This mastered state of Frieza's Final Form has been referred to as Full Power.[18]

Since his second death and revival by Whis following the Tournament of Power, Frieza remains in his True Form when not using his Golden Form, having stopped using his lower forms as his newfound mastery of ki control thanks to his Image Training in Earth's Hell means he really no longer requires said forms for power suppression.

In Broly, Frieza reveals he plans to use the Earth Dragon Balls to wish to make his True Form 5cm taller (which would also affect his True Golden Frieza form) as any more would be too noticeable and he wants others to think it was the result of natural growth.

100% Full Power

Main article: 100% Full Power

FullPowerFrieza

Frieza in his Full Power Form

Originally, to access his full power, his body becomes noticeably affected by it. Once charging himself to at least 85% strength, the strain of containing this untamed and immense power causes his muscle mass to greatly increase. At 100%, his body becomes broader, and his build engorged compared to his previously sleek frame. This also causes his body to grow noticeably taller, nearly equal to Goku in height. With his power pushed to the absolute limit, giving him strength and durability far greater than normal, he was able to fight nearly on par with Super Saiyan Goku during their final confrontation on Planet Namek. Despite his hulking frame in this state, he shows no apparent decrease in his endurance, speed, or agility. However, due to the strain on his body, he cannot maintain the maximum capacity of it for long, slowly weakening.

During the Tournament of Power, Frieza showed that even after massively increasing the might of his Final Form and fully mastering it, Frieza can still charge and focus his energy into pure might by bulking up his muscles if he wishes, further increasing his power well beyond his normal limits. He is shown able to instantly obtain this state and to do so with no visible exhaustion or strain from doing so. This implies his control of this state has been refined to reduce the rate of stamina decline. However, he notes that it will still only be useful for a short period and best used early in the fight due to the strain still depleting his stamina faster than in his normal state.

Frieza's 100% Power form is a temporary power-up in Supersonic Warriors that can be used by Frieza in any of his states: Final form (LV1), Mecha form (LV2), and Immortal Final form (LV3). In its sequel, Supersonic Warriors 2, Frieza can use his full power through the technique named 100% Activation which, like in the previous game, does not increase his muscles but instead gives him a white and purple aura. In the story mode of Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai, Frieza can control his 100% power form while in Hell, being able to use this state without the risk of losing any stamina, making him able to stay in the form for as long as he wishes.

Mecha Frieza

FriezaFinalFormRobotNV

Frieza in his synthetic state

Mecha Frieza (メカフリーザ), also referred to as Powered-Up Form in the manga, is Frieza rebuilt with cybernetic enhancements by scientists after what remained of the still-living Frieza was salvaged after being physically ruined while caught in Planet Namek's explosion. The whole of the lower half of his body, entire left arm, and right side of his face was replaced with scarring and metal accouterments covering what little was left of his organic self. These enhancements allowed him to exceed the limits imposed by his fully organic form, though by how much or in what way is unknown. It also was capable of generating bioelectricity, as red electrical bolts were seen emanating from him upon arrival at Earth. In the Funimation dub of Dragon Ball Z Kai, this form has a slight mechanical sound to his voice. Despite being outfitted with cybernetics, he is still susceptible to ki-sense unlike the Red Ribbon Army-created cyborgs/androids. In the anime it is said by King Kai that Mecha Frieza's Supernova is ten times stronger than the Death Ball Frieza used to destroy Namek.

Upon Future Trunks killing him, lacking a physical body, Frieza's spirit remains with the appearance of Mecha Frieza during his time in Hell until his resurrection in Resurrection ‘F’.[9] Upon his revival, he is still Mecha Frieza (in pieces), however he is soon regenerated, regaining his full organic body.

In Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors, Frieza obtains a cybernetic suit of armor that he places over his injuries after defeating Goku and which is his level two state in the game; while wearing the armor his appearance is identical to Mecha Frieza's but he is strong enough to defeat the Super Saiyans and Red Ribbon Androids. In Dragon Ball Z 2 V, when Frieza is in his alternate Cooler costume, Mecha Frieza is replaced with Meta-Cooler.

Golden Frieza

Golden Frieza

During his training for a rematch against Goku, Frieza obtained this Ultimate Evolution, becoming Golden Frieza. Frieza implied that he deliberately developed the form to take on its appearance. While similar in appearance to his base form, his face, hands, and feet turn purple, he gains pronounced eye ridges, and is encased in a biological armor covering all but his face, hands, and feet. It is glimmering gold in color but with a darker gold covering his arms and midsection down. The gem plates on his shoulders disappear and the ones on his forearms and shins become smaller and oval-shaped. He also grows noticeably taller and likewise gains a similar increase in muscle mass. His aura also becomes a blaze of fire-like orange.

Unlike his first three forms, this one increases his power beyond his Final Form. The increase in power is so great that Vegeta was initially too fearful to face him, with his power being massively superior to Super Saiyan Blue Goku even while holding back in an attempt to torture Goku.[5][6] The form gained open acknowledgement by even God of Destruction Beerus and his attendant Whis from Frieza's tremendous growth in power, and in the anime Goku notes that if Frieza were to fight seriously he could potentially kill Goku in an instant.

Originally, despite the immense increase of power, Frieza's lack of preparation due to impatiently wanting revenge originally left the form incomplete and with a crippling flaw. After only a few minutes of usage, the intense energy this form generates burns through Frieza's to draining him of large amounts of stamina, affecting his performance in battle before ultimately reverting to his fourth form. In the anime, Frieza also displays the ability to hold back and control his power to an extent, allowing him to last somewhat longer.

True Golden Frieza

Golden Frieza displays his perfect energy control

Later, acknowledging that the key flaw of his Golden form was an extreme disadvantage, Frieza spent his time trapped in Hell continuing his training through constant image training; he endured the constant annoyances he was subjected to and learned to completely refine his energy control despite being bound the entire time, focusing endlessly on his goal of killing Goku and how he would do it. This ultimately allowed him to master the Golden Frieza transformation and proportionately further increasing his power. In the anime he dubbed his mastered state the "True Golden Frieza". With his newfound mastery of energy manipulation, he boasts that he could maintain steadiness able to leave water unstirred while simultaneously able to unleash his power with the highest intensity. His refined control can launch beams from each finger and able to precisely control their different paths to essentially follow a target. His control reached such a level in this form that he could resist an unrefined attack from disintegrating energy of a Destroyer and even overpower it and control it as his own, although with some difficulty. By the time of Broly, Frieza was able to fight as Golden Frieza for an hour.

Fury Golden Frieza

Angered Golden Frieza vs Full Power Jiren

Fury Golden Frieza

Fury Golden Frieza is an empowered state of Golden Frieza. This form is a result of Golden Frieza becoming extremely angry and instinctually channeling that emotional energy into further raw might, drastically increasing his power. In this state Golden Frieza's eyes become bloodshot, and the veins on his skin bulge out - signifying his anger and power increase. As a result of the power up his body also begins to glow and the golden armor, he possesses gains a greater shine.

However, this power boost will only last long enough to be of any use provided he still has enough natural stamina. This was seen in Resurrection ‘F’ as Frieza briefly powers up in anger when he is overpowered by Goku's, roaring in anger and glowing brightly as he powers up - causing the sea to rise, only for him to quickly afterwards collapses to his hands and knees.

Black Frieza

After discovering a Hyperbolic Time Chamber on one of the planets he had conquered, Frieza spent a decade training within the room. Because of this training, he uncovered this form that powered him up considerably, even compared to his Golden Frieza form. The form is similar in overall appearance to Golden Frieza, except with a different color scheme. His face and midsection remain white like his Final Form, his hands, forearms, shins, and feet become dark gray, and the rest of his body becomes black. Unlike his Golden form, Frieza does not lose the gem plates on his shoulders in this form.

Frieza formally unveiled this form to Goku and Vegeta upon arriving at Cereal at Elec's "request" when explaining how he technically was exempt at that time from the wish to make Gas the strongest in Universe 7 due to training in another dimension during the time the wish was made and used it to easily defeat Goku and Vegeta at their strongest. Since they weren't actually his target at that time, he left them be for the present afterwards.

When he appeared in the Pseudo Universe to confront Goku, Golden Frieza was merged with the One-Star Dark Dragon Ball by the Crimson-Masked Saiyan, transforming him into Xeno Golden Frieza (ゴールデンフリーザ :ゼノ Gōruden Furīza: Zeno).

Frieza's strength is further enhanced in this form, with Goku describing it as unbelievable, allowing he and his brother to overwhelm Goku and Hearts until Broly (in the game and anime) and the Warrior in Black arrive, with the warrior removing the Dark Dragon Balls from the two brothers.

The form also appears as a technique for Frieza and other characters in the Dragon Ball Z Collectible Card Game. Overall, it appears similar to his third form with two additional horns near the front, razor-sharp jaws, and a long purple tongue. Also, in the manga, the form's shoulders are sharpened.

In the story mode, he and Cell are revived and turned into Majins by Babidi. However, they are once again beaten by Goku and the other Z Fighters. When Majin Buu kills Babidi, Frieza and Cell turn back to their old selves and do not remember anything of being controlled by Babidi. After that, they are beaten and absorbed by Super Buu, and sent back to Hell when Super Buu is defeated. Majin Frieza is also a starter character in Dragon Ball Z 2 V. Similar to Dabura, Frieza becomes completely loyal to Babidi while under his spell, and even refers to him as his master. The Majin mark on his forehead is white instead of the usual black displayed by the other Majins.

The two then transform (though only Cooler is shown), and attack Goku and Vegeta.

In Xenoverse 2, Frieza shaves off some of his life to achieve a greater level of power to further transform into a merger of his Golden Frieza state and the Supervillain state. In this form his skin once golden bio-suit becomes platinum in color, his eyes glow dark pink, and he gains the Time Breaker's broken infinity on his forehead.

Frieza's power increases massively when he takes on this form, as despite having already been drained of most of his energy and power from fighting as Golden Frieza previously, his transformation into this form puts him at a level where he is capable of fighting against Goku and Vegeta in their Super Saiyan Blue forms - despite having already lost most of his power. Due to the circumstances, it is unknown what the true strength of Frieza in this form is (although it's believed that he's far stronger than the regular Ultimate Evolution).

Frieza achieves this form during the Dark Demon Realm Saga by Xeno-Evolving.[20]

Frieza has had three ships over the course of his life with his first ship being the one he used during the Genocide of the Saiyans up until it was destroyed during the battle on Planet Namek when Namek exploded. The reason for this is unknown, although it is possible, he sees it as a status symbol.

After his second resurrection by Whis, Frieza is shown to occasionally ride inside his hover pod while in his True Form such as when he announces his return in the Dragon Ball Super anime and in Broly.

Frieza's New Scouter Model (Red)

For most of his life, Frieza lacked the ability to naturally sense ki and relied heavily on Scouters to detect ki. Frieza wears a scouter just before attacking Planet Vegeta and takes it off to fire his Eye Lasers at King Vegeta's brigade. Frieza's scouter on Namek was a newer model of the same color that was personally given to him by the Ginyu Force. Frieza uses this scouter to find Guru's home. When Frieza personally fights Nail, his scouter measures the lone Namekian's power level (42,000), which somewhat impresses the emperor. After having severely beaten up Nail, Frieza uses his scouter to contact the Ginyu Force, only to find out they are all defeated. While fighting against Vegeta, Gohan, Krillin and Dende, Frieza uses his scouter to measure Vegeta's power, ending the conflict when Frieza's scouter blows up due to Vegeta's power now rivaling his own, apparently, much to Frieza's disbelief. Frieza's newer model appears under the name New Model Scouter (Red) in the Xenoverse series.
