Masendan (魔閃弾) is an energy sphere version of the Masenko used by Gohan.

Overview

First, Gohan puts his hands above his head like the normal Masenko, but keeps charging it until it forms an energy sphere. Then, he grabs the energy sphere with his hand and draws it back up to his side. Finally, Gohan shouts "Take this!" and throws the attack at the opponent, inflicting a great amount of damage.

Gohan ki blast

Gohan charges a Masendan

Gohan uses this attack during the battle against Frieza in his second form. After witnessing his friend Krillin being nearly killed by Frieza, an enraged Gohan attacks Frieza with a powerful barrage of punches, kicks and rapid energy blasts, knocking the tyrant down to the ground and creating a massive dome of energy where he is lying. Gohan then charges and fires the Masendan down at the massive energy dome, creating a huge explosion and inflicting some serious damage to Frieza.

Appearances in Video Games

The technique was named Masendan in Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World and Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit, whete it is one of Gohan's attacks. It appears as Kid Gohan's full-powered ki blast in the Budokai Tenkaichi series, and under the name Masenko Break (魔閃光改) in Dragon Ball Heroes.
