Masaki Sato (正樹佐藤 Sato Masaki) is a Japanese animator who had worked as both Key Animator and Director on Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z.

Biography

In 1988, Sato had joined the Dragon Ball franchise when he was assigned as Key Animator for Dragon Ball: Mystical Adventure. He then continued to work as a Key Animator for four episodes of Dragon Ball until 1989.

In 1990, he was also assigned as Key Animator for Dragon Ball Z: Dead Zone and appointed as Assistant Director for Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might and Dragon Ball Z: Bardock - The Father of Goku.

In 1991, Sato was assigned to be the Director of Dragon Ball Z: Lord Slug, and to be the Assistant Director in Dragon Ball Z: Cooler's Revenge.

Between 1990 to 1992, Sato worked as a Key Animator on 8 Dragon Ball Z episodes. In 1993, he was an animator for Dragon Ball Z: The History of Trunks and a Key Animator for Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13!.
