This article is about the race of magic-created demons. For the people under control of Babidi's magic, see List of Majins.

Majin (じん Majin, lit. "one with supernatural powers" or "djinn") is a race under the magic of Bibidi or his doppelganger, Babidi. They make their debut with Majin Buu in "The Djinn Awakens?!", the 460th chapter of the Dragon Ball manga, issued on March 4, 1994. They make their first anime appearance with the same character in "Buu is Hatched", the 232nd episode of Dragon Ball Z, which premiered on July 4, 1994. In Dragon Ball Fusions, they are considered part of the Offworlder race.

The most recognizable type of Majin are the Majin subspecies created by Mr. Buu and Miss Buu, though several other members of the Majin species who are not part of this subspecies appear throughout the series.

Biography

A female Majin in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

The first member of this race known is the original Majin Buu, who has existed since time immemorial, cycling between rampages and long hibernation,[2] and was summoned once again 5 million years before Age by the evil wizard Bibidi, who was mistakenly believed by Shin to have been the original Majin Buu's creator. The first Majin to appear was the Teapot Genie - who debuted in Dr. Slump - he defeated Arale but was defeated by the angered Tsukutsun Tsun. Additionally, another member of the race not known to be of relation to Buu named Majin Ozotto existed on the Green Planet until he was defeated by the Z Fighters in the lead up to the Cell Games.[3]

In Dragon Ball Online, it is revealed that, in Age 790, Majin Buu created a female mate called Miss Buu for himself. This led them to start a family leading to the birth of their first child Baby Buu via the Love-Love Beam technique, and thus the dawn of the Majin race on Earth.

Majins run the theme park Boo World, which was created by Mister Bii in honor of Majin Buu. The park is divided into "Tasty Zone" and "Fun Zone".

In Age 1000, the Majins play significant role, and various classes of Majin can be chosen as playable characters in Dragon Ball Online.

"Your fighting style is remarkably close to that of a demon... Could you be one of those legendary creatures, in the flesh? I have heard about all the planets you've destroyed- you are evil incarnate! I never thought I would ever meet a Majin!"
Lord Slug

In the Xenoverse series, both male and female Majins are shown to be members of the Time Patrol with several living in Toki Toki City in Age 850 and Conton City in Age 852. Interestingly, some of the Majin Time Patrollers do not seem to be fully aware of their race's history such as the creation of Miss Buu and development of the Love-Love Beam. In Xenoverse 2, Lord Slug is shown to be aware of the existence of Majin and their demonic nature having heard about all the planets destroyed by Majin Buu due to his association with various demons while leading his Demon clan indicating that Majin Buu is well-known among the universe's demonic races. However, Lord Slug does note that they are only considered true demons if they possess strong evil nature though due to their demonic origins are adept at utilizing demonic techniques. Cooler is also shown to be aware of the existence of Majin Buu as he had been warned about them by his father King Cold like he had with his brother, Frieza. Several comments made by various characters in the Xenoverse series implies that other Majins besides Kid Buu may have existed in the past. The race is noted to possess a natural affinity towards Magic and utilize Magic techniques such as Transfiguration Beam.

Due to a large Rift in Time forming around Majin Buu's House (rebuilt with clay not created from people) in Age 790 after Mira places a Distorted Time Egg nearby which Majin Buu picked up and kept after he had left. This rift timeline is separated from the original history and as a result a different iteration of the origin of the Majin in that timeline occurred. The Majin Future Warrior witnesses Majin Buu reading Bob & Margaret: Forbidden Games as he had in the original history. Mr. Satan notices what his friend reading when he asks about the word "lovey-dovey" which he doesn't recognize. Mr. Satan asks where he got it and Majin Buu informs him it is Mr. Satan's copy of the book as he found it in Mr. Satan's room. Mr. Satan knowing of the book's adult subject matter (as it is popular among men like Mr. Satan and Master Roshi though is known to be controversial due to its adult subject matter) tries to get him to stop reading it and give it back to him wanting to persevere his friend's innocence though Buu stubbornly refuses and Mr. Satan gives up realizing that Buu would probably learn about such things eventually. Buu continues to read the book extensively. Later the Future Warrior learns Buu was inspired by Mr. Satan's parental relationship with Videl and decides to create children via fission though needs lots of food to give him the energy necessary to perform fission. The maximum number of children he can create is 6 though if the Future Warrior is Majin this number increases to 10. The Time Patrol tried planting vegetables to feed to Buu but he ate them all up thus the Future Warrior must collect food from Conton City (or from the Namekian Farmer who grows Vegetables in the Guru's House rift and occasionally rewards them to the Future Warrior when they give him items to help him tend his field) to feed to Buu allowing him to create a child every time they max out his Fullness Meter. This results in the creation of the Majin family. The Future Warrior can give the children food and they will leave the house.

After they return they will give the warrior an item based on their color. Buu will be grateful to the warrior for helping him create his family showing them the Distorted Time Egg he found which they convince him to give to them and if they are a Majin help them unlock their Purification Awoken Skill that allows them to access their Pure Majin form. After all the Distorted Time Eggs are discovered, Chronoa decides to allow all the large rifts contained in Time Miniatures to remain allowing the Future Warrior and Time Patrollers to continue to visit the Majin family to interact with them when off duty. However, it should be noted due to it being separated from the original timeline the past of the Majin race Time Patrollers is not altered though it does create more confusion about their origins for those unfamiliar with the original history including some Majin themselves. However, one female Majin notes Mr. Satan had a big impact in their race's history due to his role in the creation of Good Buu through his friendship with Innocent Buu (as apparently the role of his copy of Bob & Margaret in Majin history is not common knowledge presumably due to its controversial nature and subject matter as one female Majin was curious as to what it was about ignorant of its adult subject matter) which may explain why he is still respected among most Time Patrollers despite knowledge of his true strength and history being known to the Time Patrol as his ability to befriend and tame a legendary demon like Majin Buu is impressive in and of itself.

"You're a Majin, right? I know all about you. Born long ago in ages past, I understand. Ancient you may be, but I've existed here in Universe 7 for ever and ever and ever. To me, you're just a babe in arms."
— Beerus' assertion that he is older than the Majin in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Additionally, Beerus asserts that he himself is far older than the Majin and apparently views the Majin Future Warrior and presumably all Majin in general to simply be incarnations of the original Majin Buu. This would imply that Beerus and Champa (who are twins) are as old if not older than the original Majin Buu. Hit also notes that he heard the Majin are ancient beings and is surprised they actually exist. It is unclear if this means other Majin existed in the past or if he is simply referencing the fact that Majin Buu is an ancient being thus by extension so are the Majin as they are one of the oldest known races in existence due to Majin Buu existing since time immemorial even though them truly becoming a race occurred in more recent times. Additionally Majin Buu's ability to use Cloning technique and his absorption ability may have been responsible for myths that their was a race in the past as Majin Buu's absorptions may have been seen as different individuals to those unaware of the absorption and clones could have been mistake as identical siblings causing people unfamiliar with Majin Buu to assume their may be a race of Majin back when their wasn't one as Majin Buu is a legendary monster and like Yamoshi many myths about him likely came about and his origins became distorted through the ages as Shin mistakenly believed Bibidi created Kid Buu around 5 Million Before Age.

In Dragon Ball Fusions, Majins are classified as part of one Offworlder races along with Core Person and Demons. Tekka can be customized to be a Majin of an unknown origin if Offworlder is selected as their race at the beginning of the game and certain hair options are selected. If another race is chosen, Tekka can later use the Dragon Balls to make a wish to change their race into to an Majin Offworlder of either gender. Tekka can also encounter various Majins inside the Timespace Rift. The origins of some of these Majins is unclear due to the nature of the Timespace Rift as a world where different timelines intersect. As a result, Majin from various timelines are shown such as Ratopa, a Majin once served as a Supreme Kai. The game also introduces Majin-based EX-Fusions such as Majin Satan and Janenbu.

In Dragon Ball FighterZ, it is revealed that Dr. Gero's Supercomputer somehow acquired Majin Buu's cells though Gohan suggests they likely did not come from Kid Buu himself as he would have survived his destruction in Age 774 if any cells survived via collection due to how strong his regeneration is indicating they likely came from Good Buu who is still alive. Regardless, the computer managed to somehow incorporate Majin DNA into Android 21 a Bio-Android created from the human mother of Dr. Gero's son a deceased Red Ribbon Army soldier killed by an enemy bullet whom was used by Gero as the template for the Mechanical Type Android 16. In addition to Majin DNA, 21 possessed cells from countless warriors including Frieza, the Z Fighters, Cell, as well as countless scientists. It is implied her Majin cells are dominant as she has primarily Majin traits in her True Form such as clothing, pink skin, mimicry, and ability to turn people into food though she has pointy Namekian like ears, white hair, and a Frieza Race-like tail. However, some of her cells went out of control which are strongly implied to be her Majin cells as the Clone Buus she eventually created are all Pure Majin clones of Kid Buu which possess the personality of the original instead of being mindless drones indicating that Majin cells are inherently difficult if not impossible to control making them dangerous to utilize in genetic engineering.

As result, she developed an insatiable appetite that drives her to turn people into food to absorb their power and an evil split personality that gave into her desire to feed while her original good personality resisted said urges. She created clones of the Z Fighters to use as a army and makeshift food source though prepared to consume the originals after having revived Frieza, Cell, Ginyu Force, and Nappa whom had also been cloned. Due to her appetite, she became more destructive as her sanity deteriorated the hungrier she becomes resembling the original Majin Buu though she retained her intelligence. She is also capable of fission like Majin Buu as she split into her good and evil halves due to the anguish and guilt her good side felt over the death of the rebuilt Android 16 whom was killed when she lost control of her cravings after protecting her fellow Androids from Cell. These fissions are not life linked indicating her fission is Majin based rather than Namekian. However, despite suppressing her cravings the Good 21 feared she would one day lose control as well and chose to die with her evil counterpart to protect her newfound friends. Goku decided to ask King Yemma to have her reincarnated as he had with Kid Buu. The Kid Buu clones are all destroyed as well leaving Good Buu the only remaining Majin for the time being.

Buu's subspecies

Appearence

They appear to be gum-like humanoids with various skin tones and antenna on their heads.

Body manipulation

MajinFemale4(DBO)

A female Majin in Dragon Ball Online

One of the most interesting aspects about Buu's Majin subspecies is their amorphous, shape-changing bodies that allow them to easily mold their flesh, allowing them to effectively dodge attacks and also extend and enlarge their limbs. In Dragon Ball Online, Dragon Ball Xenoverse, and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 though Majins lack hair they are shown to sport their antenna and the body tissue on their head in ways resembling hairstyles. The ability to absorb appears to be unique to Majin Buu, as no other Majin has ever displayed this trait, additionally, unlike the original Majin Buu, regular Majins are not immortal and can age. In the Dragon Ball Xenoverse series, Majins are shown to be capable of regeneration.

However, artificially created Majin such as Android 21 and the Kid Buu Clones in FighterZ are capable of a form of absorption as Kid Buu Clones can absorb other clones to increase their power though their appearance remains the same as they apparently absorb only their power while Android 21 can absorb abilities by absorbing energy Connoisseur Cut and can consume others to absorb them as can Android 21 (Evil) though when her evil counterpart absorbed Cell her skin color changed and she gained spots like Cell's which is the only time any of Android 21's absorptions actually result in a physical change though her personality remained the same.

Each version of Majin Buu that appeared in the original manga had a different type of morphing ability: The fat Majin Buu's round, fat body aided his defense and allowed him to inflate and regenerate dismembered parts of his body like a balloon; Evil Buu's ability appeared to be stretching and becoming very lengthy; Super Buu could liquify himself, mentally control detached parts of his body, absorb enemies, and much of everything else Majin Buu and Evil Buu could do. Kid Buu, as well as Majin Buu, showed the ability to split themselves into numerous copies. Innocent Buu, Good Buu, and male Majin in Xenoverse 2 can use body manipulation to use their gum-like flesh as a weapon to ensnare and restrain enemies leaving them open to attack. Kid Buu is also known to rip off his arm to attack opponents with it, fitting his unpredictable fighting style and taking full advantage of his regeneration and body manipulation abilities.

Super Buu's absorption allows him to take on the similar facial features, clothing, and the techniques of his most dominantly powerful absorbed victims. The fat Majin Buu is another product of absorption that wears clothing as a result of Kid Buu's absorption of Daikaioh. Interestingly, Kid Buu did not gain any of South Supreme Kai's clothing as only his physique was altered. Evil Buu wore clothing similar to Innocent Buu while Good Buu inherited the same clothing as Innocent Buu though this due to them both being fissions of Innocent Buu. In Xenoverse 2, each member of the Majin family created via fission is born as miniature fat Majins wearing various styles of clothing and accessories such as hats and even Scouters. Good Buu has some control over his fission's appearance as Miss Buu was created using ideas on feminine attributes from reading Bob & Margaret thus his fission offspring's differences in appearance may be based upon how he envisioned each child. Some Majin in the Xenoverse series refer to fissions as clones indicating it is generally considered a form of cloning among some Majin.

In Xenoverse 2, it is implied by male Majin Time Patroller Bentora that their malleable Majin physiology allows Majin to survive being crushed by intense gravity if said Majin is unaccustomed to it as Bentora notes he was squished as flat as a pancake when he accidentally entered Vegeta's gravity training room while investigating the Capsule Corporation time rift, though he survived the ordeal and apparently managed to use body manipulation revert back to normal once he was back in normal Earth gravity. Vegeta notes that Conton City has a gravity similar to Earth as Planet Vegeta's gravity is ten times greater than Conton City's indicating that Majin living in Conton City are accustomed to the same level of gravity as Earth thus explaining why Bentora was negatively effected as he was apparently unaccustomed to such intense gravity. However this can be advantageous as Majin can endure higher gravity levels that would be potential lethal to other race that are unaccustomed to it as the intense gravity will only flatten a Majin's malleable bodies should they encounter a level of gravity their body is not accustomed to or ready to handle. However, Bentora was apparently frightened by the experience of being flattened in such a manner indicating it is an uncomfortable experience for Majin.

In FighterZ, Gohan surmises it is unlikely that the Kid Buu Clones were created from the deceased and currently reincarnated Kid Buu's cells as he would have regenerated were that the case, indicating the cells likely came from Good Buu who's cells contain Kid Buu's power and genetic legacy which can be accessed by Good Buu's Majin descendants through the Pure Majin form. Majin cells are also apparently difficult if not impossible to control artificially making them dangerous to use in genetic engineering as exemplified by Android 21 and the Clone Buus.

Skin color

MajinBuu&EvilBuu

A pink Majin (Majin Buu) and a gray Majin (Evil Buu)

Traditionally, Buu's Majin subspecies were one standard color (pink) until the appearance of Evil Buu: a manifestation of Buu's dispelled evil. However, this can be explained by the fact that Evil Buu was dispelled entirely from Majin Buu's body, and was not the traditional type of Majin (rather than Kid Buu, or Miss Buu and other female Majin reproduce in Dragon Ball Online; resulting in pink Majin). In Dragon Ball Online, Dragon Ball Xenoverse, and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, during character creation, Majin can be various colors such as red, yellow, green, and blue. Some Time Breaker Majin are a similar color to Evil Buu. In Xenoverse 2, Majin Buu's fission produced offspring can have either Red/Pink, Blue, or Yellow skin and their skin color can change if the Future Warrior gives one food five times (the Future Warrior can halt the process by telling them to Calm Down when they start to change color). The child's skin color determines which type of items they will bring back from their walk after being given food (Red/Pink for Super Souls, Blue for healing items, and Yellow for clothing). Also in Xenoverse 2, Majins retain their selected skin color when reverting to their Pure Majin form.

Gender difference

MajinMale&Female(DBO)

A male and a female Majin

Dragon Ball Online is the first media to show female Majin, as those in the original series spawned from a single, male Majin (Kid Buu). Throughout the original series, it is shown that Majin come in all different body types; the frail Evil Buu, the fat Majin Buu, the tall and muscular Super Buu, and the shorter Kid Buu. However, most male Majin are fat and female Majin are slender like the evil incarnations of Buu. Unlike Majin Buu, the Majins also have more than one antennae and their numbers depend on the gender. Male Majins tend to have two to four antennae shaped similar to horns while the female ones have several that are stylized like hair. As the female Majin were inspired by human females due to Good Buu getting ideas on female appearances from Bob & Margaret (before the fission that created Miss Buu), female Majin share certain attributes with human females, such as a feminine bust and slender feminine body shape.

While the majority of male Majin are fat like their progenitor Mr. Buu, several skinny male Majin have appeared in Dragon Ball Heroes and Dragon Ball Fusions.

Good Super Buu

Good Buu in his Shape-Up form

In Dragon Ball Super, it is shown by Good Buu that the bodies of male Majin can slim down if they train strenuously enough, indicating that their fat bodies may be the result of their love of eating. Losing weight also increases a male Majin's power level and gain a physique similar to Super Buu. However, due to their love of food it is implied it can be hard for male Majin to slim down through strenuous training and exercise as shown by the Majin Time Patroller Dekeit in Xenoverse 2 who ends up cheating on his diet by eating 30 cakes and as a result is unable to slim down despite his daily jogging routine.

It is also shown that female Majin can have issues with their body image despite being slimmer than their male counterparts, as shown by Majin Time Patroller Kunel who becomes fixated on losing weight after overhearing an insensitive perverted comment about her appearance from Elder Kai and decides to go on a diet as a result though eventually decides to take advantage of her body manipulation abilities instead to deal with her body image issues, though is displeased with the results. However she eventually she grows tired of worrying about her appearance and dieting, deciding to quit dieting after coming to the realization she is okay with her body and comes to consider her nice and soft pillowy marshmallow body is adorable and one of her most charming features. Female Majin Bazzara is also implied to be working on her weight by dieting and fitness training though it is implied that she was forced into it by her non-Majin female Captain Suga who's heavy handed approach is implied to be having the opposite effect on Bazzara who notes she has been drinking diet sodas and plans to cut back on sweets and eat more nutritious Sweet Potatoes, though Suga's heavy handed criticism and primary focus on fitness training tends to dissuaded Bazzara from her slightly healthier dieting indicating Majin are capable of eating healthy in order to lose weight provided they are not discouraged from doing so.

Reproduction

Buu's Majin subspecies have two basic forms of reproduction, both of which are demonstrated by Mr. Buu. The first method is Fission where a single Majin splits into two different copies of itself (this should not be confused with Cloning as the new entity is quite different from the original). Majin Buu has used fission twice, the first time was to remove the evil from his heart resulting in the birth of Evil Buu who would absorb Majin Buu to become Super Buu before reverting to his original Pure Majin form, Kid Buu. The second time was a result of Good Buu's desire of female companionship after read Bob & Margaret one of Mr. Satan's adult books. After obtaining ideas about female mates, Buu split into the male Majin Mr. Buu and the first female Majin, Miss Buu. It would seem that in Miss Buu's case it is possible for the one who initiates the fission has some control over the being created as Good Buu was able to create a female Majin using ideas obtained from Bob & Margaret. However this form of Majin reproduction is rare and only two Majins are known to been born by this method, Evil Buu & Miss Buu and was the Majin's only method of reproduction until the creation of Miss Buu. It was only after Miss Buu's creation that the second method developed. The couple longing for a child like Earthling couples, they read Bob & Margaret again to work that out and developed the process that would become the Majins main means of reproduction. They tore many pieces from various parts of their bodies, mixed them together, and birthed life into the dumpling-shaped pieces by firing their Love-Love Beam at it. This resulted in the birth of their first child, Baby Buu. It is implied they did this several more times after Baby Buu's birth ultimately resulting in establishment of the Majin as a race. Presumably this became the main form of reproduction among the Majin.

In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, a time rift anomaly forms around Majin's Buu rebuilt house during the time period in which Majin Buu starts reading Bob & Margaret. Majin Buu gets lonely and inspired by Mr. Satan's relationship with his daughter Videl, decides to create children of his own using fission, but must eat a lot of food in order to have enough energy to perform it. If the Future Warrior feeds Majin Buu enough food, then he can use fission to create a new child. Normally Majin Buu is limited to creating up to 6 offspring, however if the Future Warrior is a Majin then his limit increases to 10 offspring.

Diet

Due to their Transfiguration Beam technique, Buu's Majin subspecies' diet consists mainly of candy and other sweets like cookies, ice cream, and pudding. As they can turn anything or anyone into candy/food using the technique, some members of their race have been known to turn other beings into different kinds of candy/food. Evil Buu is the only Majin known to have eaten another Majin turned into candy, after Good Buu's attempt to defeat Evil Buu with Candy Beam backfired turning Good Buu into candy which Evil Buu ate causing him to transform into Super Buu, an act which can viewed as a form of cannibalism (eating one's own kind). Due to the amorphous bodies Majin can eat large amounts of food/candy and have appetites that can rival the Saiyans. Some members have been shown to be quite selfish when it comes to food as Majin Buu refused to let God of Destruction Beerus have even a single pudding cup out of the large number of pudding cups Majin Buu had. A Majin's love of food/candy borders on gluttony, Super Buu became horrified at the prospect of spending an eternity trapped in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber without sweets, resulting him becoming so angry that he rips through the dimensional wall separating the two dimensions allowing him to escape, and celebrates his freedom by systematically turning everyone on The Lookout into food and consuming them.

Maida

Maida, an example of a skinny male Majin

Majins do seem to be capable of eating and even enjoying types of food other than sweets as seen in Son Goku and His Friends Return, when Mr. Buu is seen eating regular food with Kibito Kai and Mr. Satan. Mr. Buu is also depicted eating regular food at Bulma's Birthday Party in Dragon Ball Super, indicating that Majins are omnivorous. However they seem to prefer sweet tasting food such as Pudding, Candy, Chocolate, Cake, and Cookies. However they may try to eat healthier foods and drinks such as Sweet Potatoes and Diet Soda both of which Bazzara mentions to her Captain Suga while dieting in Xenoverse 2 showing that some Majin will try to eat healthier though in Bazzara's case her captain's heavy handed approach to fitness training has a negative effect as Bazzara decides to switch back to drinking regular soda when Suga points out diet soda doesn't burn calories (failing to explain that it only has less calories). However it does show that some Majin try to eat healthier though it is implied that their love of food (especially junk food such as sweets) makes dieting difficult.

However it has been shown that they can be generous with their ability to create food, as the Candy Beam can be used to create food for others leading many a Majin to take up the culinary arts and the role of chef/cook as a career option. In Dragon Ball Online, Mighty Majins can choose the secondary career option Grand Chef Majin. However it is revealed in Xenoverse 2 that not all Majin's are good at cooking as female Majin Kyume is revealed to be a bad cook and ends up planning on seeking help from Chronoa in becoming a better cook though she and her friend Aloe are both unaware that the Supreme Kai of Time is known for being a horrible cook.

In Xenoverse 2, Good Buu and his fission produced offspring are shown to be able to eat a variety of food & drinks such as fish, mushrooms, fruits, vegetables, water, and Milk in addition to their traditional diet of sweets. Inside time rift anomaly that forms around Majin Buu's House, Majin Buu must be fed a certain amount of food in order to fill his fullness meter and gives him energy to perform Fission. Once he has reached maximum fullness, he will have enough energy to perform allowing him to create miniature Majin offspring. He can do this up to 6 times (if the Warrior is not a Majin) or 10 times if the Future Warrior is a Majin. The Warrior can also give food to Buu's children in exchange for them bring the Warrior a gift when they return from their walk. If the Warrior gives the same child food five times, the child will change color, allowing them to receive different types of items (the type of item is determined by the Majin's color). It is unclear if this skin color changing from eating applies to all of Buu's Majin offspring (both fission and those produced by Love-Love Beam reproduction) or just the one's produced by Good Buu's fission. Interestingly, one of the items the Majins are capable of consuming are poisonous mushrooms which they can consume without suffering or dying from food poisoning. It is implied that all Majin are able to consume Poisonous Mushrooms with no ill effects, according to conversions the Warrior can over hear in Conton City. Presumably Majins either have an extremely strong digestive system capable of filtering out poisonous substances they consume or possess an immunity (or at the least a higher tolerance) to the toxin found within said mushrooms. According to a conversation between Haishi and her Earthling boyfriend Schatz, Haishi once made stroganoff using one of the Poisonous Mushrooms (unaware they where toxic to non-Majin) one bite of which struck Schatz with food poisoning for a week while Haishi herself was unaffected due to her Majin digestive system, though Schatz apparently had fond memories despite being poisoned as he was apparently cared for by Haishi though it shows the danger of differences in poison tolerances as Majin can accidentally poison non-Majin by cooking or offering Poisonous Mushrooms and other toxic food to non-Majin friends who will suffer food poisoning due to not sharing the same tolerance as Majins do. They are also shown to be susceptible to the Secret Poison used by Frost. It is also implied that PP Candy only partially effects Majins as Bentora is implied to have eaten some while investigating the Capsule Corp. time rift anomaly yet when he whistles he only gets a really bad stomachache. It should be noted that this implies that as long as the substance is consumed and they are not exposed to it through injection or contact then their digestive system can process the toxic or harmful substances at least to a certain point, as Bentora apparently still got a stomachache from the PP Candy indicating that his digestive system was only able to prevent it from giving him diarrhea.

However, not even a Majin's digestive system can handle extremely horrible food such as Chronoa's whom is notorious for her terrible cooking skills as the Majin Future Warrior is negatively effected after eating a meal prepared by Chronoa in Xenoverse and is shown suffering from stomach cramps afterwards with Trunks: Xeno who also suffered through said meal. Additionally, not all Majin are skilled at cooking as Majin Time Patroller Kyume is noted to be a terrible cook by herself and her fellow Patroller Aloe. Kyume seeks to improve her cooking skills though unfortunately by learning from Chronoa whom she is under the impression is a far better cook than she actually is. Though Good Buu was selfish with his pudding during the infamous "Pudding Incident" he is shown to be willing to share food with close friends such as the Future Warrior and it is implied that Majin share food as a way of socializing with friends and comrades. It should be noted that Beerus and Good Buu where complete strangers during the Pudding Incident and Good Buu was unaware of who Beerus was (as only Vegeta and Goku were completely aware of Beerus' identity) and that refusing Beerus' polite request in the manner Buu did was not only rude but extremely dangerous as it is considered unwise to upset of God of Destruction as the Pudding Incident clearly demonstrates. Good Buu even uses candy as a way to reward the Future Warrior for completing one of his lessons showing he recognizes such rewards can be useful for motivation. Mr. Satan even advises the Future Warrior to always have sweets on hand to keep Good Buu happy in order to keep his temper in check.

Bio-Android Majins Android 21 and her fissions developed an eating disorder due to their cells going out of control causing her to develop an insatiable hunger that caused her mental state to deteriorate the more her hunger increased. Her hunger causes her to turn people into food and eat them to absorb their power which seems to be a combination of Cell's life absorption and the manner Evil Buu absorbed Good Buu as it involves turning people into food to power up. While the Good personality of 21 was able to suppress her this desire to feed, her evil side embraced it viewing other beings as little more than food to satiate her hunger even creating clones to help control her hunger by serving as appetizers while the originals served as her planned main course. However her actions where ultimately ruled by her hunger and she tended to become infatuated with strong fighters like Goku gushing about how she planned to consume him wonder if someone as powerful as him could satisfy her hunger. However food produced by her version of the Transfiguration Beam results vary based on the power and nature of the person as clones tended to taste terrible due to the artificial growth process and stronger people tended to produce the best food. As a result, 21 and Evil 21 preferred what they referred to as "organic food" essentially strong fighters who were not clones.

Evil 21 also found the Power Suppression Wave generator remote tasted like garbage due to it being made of inedible materials when she swallowed it to prevent her counterpart to stop her from shutting the machine down though beyond its horrible taste she was not negatively effected by consuming it indicating a strong digestive system. Turning Cell into food and absorbing caused Evil 21 to transform and take on some of Cell's features such as his spots and her skin became a pale purple color though this did not occur when the original 21 absorbs Cell in the Super Warrior Arc. However when deprived of her clones Android 21 and Evil 21 loses her patience and becomes manic as her cravings intensify something which Frieza and Good 21 count on when luring her out. Evil 21 believes that her Good counterpart would eventually become a hypocrite and consume others or clones to increase her power though was surprised that she was able to suppress them by Soul Linking. However, Good 21 fearing she would one day lose control as the original Android 21 had before her fission thus chose to die with her counterpart and Whis implies she was doomed to eventually suffer such a fate thus her sacrifice was ultimately for the greater good which Goku decided to honor by asking King Yemma to reincarnate Good 21's soul instead simply of reviving her with the Dragon Balls.

Though she suppressed her cravings to turn people into food and consume them, Good 21 had no problem consuming normal food as she accepted Good Buu's offer of sharing some of his candy that he got from Mr. Satan with her though she convinced him to hold off until after they defeated the clones they were about to confront showing that she has self control even when it comes to consuming normal food (however there is apparently no danger in her doing so and may even help suppress her hunger in a morally acceptable manner) and candy not made from other people.

Ki

Majin Buu is said to possess an odd ki signature that makes it hard to tell how strong Buu really is. Majins seem to be able to manipulate ki naturally, though it is unclear if they are able to sense ki naturally as Innocent Buu was incapable of sensing ki, while Super Buu and Kid Buu could (it is possible that Super Buu and Kid Buu learned how to do so or Kid Buu originally possessed regained the ability to Sense ki and Super Buu simply regained it as a result of Evil Buu absorbed Good Buu). Majins can also multiply their ki via the Kaio-ken technique. Majin can access their hidden potential through transforming into their Pure Majin form or without transforming through their Potential Unleashed. Pure Majin and Potential Unleashed both share the same silvery white aura in Xenoverse 2.

In Dragon Ball Heroes, Majin avatars can use Godly ki via the God Class-up and Super God Class-up. Majin Buu: Xeno gains the godly ki of the Demon God form by absorbing Demon God Dabura as well. In Xenoverse 2, the Majin Future Warrior gains the ability to utilize godly ki at some point before or around the time they start training under Future Zamasu as he senses the faint signature of godly ki coming from the warrior during and after their Initiation Test. Whis also considers the Majin Future Warrior a God of Destruction candidate (which is ironic given how destructive the original Majin Buu was) indicating their demonic nature does not preclude them from potentially being appointed to such a position.

Magic

Majin are known for being an inherently magical species and possess the power to transform people into any object or substance they wish from food, drinks, clay, or a ball via their Transfiguration Beam though they can also reverse the transfiguration restoring the target back to normal. Some Majin like Innocent or Good Buu can heal others via their magic even capable of restoring the sight of a person blind since birth.

Culture

Generally Majins are fun loving race who love to eat due to their larger appetites. Though originally a peaceful race, following the death of Mani Mani (who died while protecting his fellow Majin during an attack on Earth by remnants of the Frieza Force) in Age 834, many Majins were inspired to become fighters and began studying the Martial Arts. However, Good Buu's primary occupation until Age 793 was that of a martial artist and is known to have participated in the World Martial Arts Tournament and Zen Exhibition Match (though in the case of the latter his participation is not widely known) as well as being a member of Team Universe 7 and the Dragon Team. He is also known to the world at large as a student of Mr. Satan whom became famous through his participation in the World Martial Arts Tournament making it to the finals against Mr. Satan thanks to their rigging tournaments to preserve Mr. Satan's reputation. It is likely that Good Buu's martial arts career had some influence on Majin martial arts as many of his techniques such as Candy Beam, Explosive Buu Buu Punch, Zigzag Express, Majin Kamehameha are used by his descendants and is likely respected in the Majin martial arts community for his role as both a martial artist and warrior in addition to his role as Majin race progenitor. He even works as an Instructor for the Time Patroller Academy in Age 852 in Xenoverse 2.

Due to their strange powers and abilities, Majins are often viewed by members of other races to be odd or strange, though some find them interesting due to their power and unusual abilities.

Due to their love of fun and making people happy, some Majins enjoy working as entertainers as many are employed at the Boo World theme park in Dragon Ball Online. Even Majins in Conton City such as Gaccho and Wabara are known to enjoy entertaining their fellow Time Patrols with Gaccho and Wabara's Magical Majin History Quizzes in Xenoverse 2. In Dragon Ball Fusions, the female Majin Lullus works as a dancer.

Despite technically being Demons, Majins are for the most part good natured, though as shown by Kid Buu, Super Buu, Haru Haru, and Shun Shun, evil Majins do exist. Additionally there is a risk of Majins losing their good hearts when they attempt to access their pure form and essentially becoming another incarnation of Kid Buu. Their legendary power and demonic origins make them valued members of demonic armies such as Lord Slug's clan and the Time Breakers. However, as shown by Good Buu, Mani Mani, and the Time Patrol Majins, good Majins can be just as valuable to the forces of good.

It is implied that some female Majin engage in interspecies relationships with males of other races such as Saiyans and Earthlings as female Majin Cocresa is shown to have an interest in Saiyan Patroller Basil though this has resulted in a love triangle with a non-Majin girl named Fira who also has an interest in Basil who is unwilling to choose between either of them, causing Cocresa to even suggest sharing him though Fira refuses as she has no intention of sharing him as she considers such an arrangement cheating though it shows some Majin females are willing to share their male partners with other females. The Majin Haishi is implied to be in a relationship with the Earthling Patroller Schatz who finds Haishi's personality adorable and is wrapped around her finger according to the Romance Rangers who keep tabs on all romantic pairings and gossip in Conton City. Ein of the Romance Rangers considers Haishi a harpy for the way she has Schatz wrap around her finger and it is implied she and Haishi have some past history, though she may just be jealous Haishi has a boyfriend as Ein herself is single. Even Elder Kai is implied to have a lecherous attraction to Majin Patroller Kunel though took his comments about her appearance (which she overheard due to talking to himself to loud) as being negative when in actually his opinion was quite positive if a bit lecherous.

However, it is unclear if Male Majin engage in romantic relations with females of other races though Innocent Buu is known to have found a frightened girl attractive whom he tried to impress by changing his face to resemble Barry Kahn and tried to kiss her but her terrified rejection caused him to turn her into caramel as she had lied about finding him attractive before hand. Ironically, Good Buu would gain several female Earthling fans after becoming famous through participating in the World Martial Arts Tournament. During Frieza's Siege, Female Earthling Patroller Mugimo mentions having her first date with Male Majin Yoid and she worries whether she should risk getting a black eye ruining the chance of a second date or risk getting a graze on her cheek in hopes of impressing him with her bravery. However the results of her date with Yoid or if the date even occurred are unknown as Mugimo only appears during the Siege and neither Yoid or the Romance Rangers mention Yoid & Mugimo having a date or a relationship.

It should be noted Miss Buu was created using ideas on female beauty he gained from Bob & Margaret so his attraction to Earthling females is not surprising given the traits of female Majin were inspired by Earthling females. It is implied that such relationships between Majin females and males of other races while not common are generally accepted at least among the Majin Time Patrollers though it is unclear if this applies to Majin outside the organization.

Clothing

Generally Majins wear a type of clothing known as Buu-gi. Buu-gi are clothes that are elastic and specifically designed to be worn by Majins and resemble clothes worn by Kid Buu, Super Buu, Majin Buu, Battle Armor, Yardrat, and Metamorans. Buu-gi will also conform to a Majin's gender and body type. It is implied that Majin generally prefer clothing that looks cool (with features such as scarfs or capes), fun (such as the Jester-like Fun Suit), and/or fashionable. The Light Heart Suit is considered the ideal Buu-gi with the perfect balance of style and combat utility. When worn by females the upper body portion of the Light Heart Suit accentuates their bust giving them a more voluptuous appearance and its heart design also apparently makes it popular with females as several Time Patrollers such as Magica, Haishi, Kikiri, and Sumutocco wear the upper body portion in Xenoverse 2.

Originally, Kid Buu wore only bracers, shoes, and signature pants with a Majin M on his belt buckle. After absorbing Grand Supreme Kai, in addition to his signature pants and belt Majin Buu obtained a vest, cape, yellow boots, and yellow gloves. Evil Buu also wore similar attire though his cape was a different color. After Evil Buu became Super Buu, his outfit changed back to the one originally worn by Kid Buu. With each absorption, Super Buu usually gained an article of clothing such as Gotenks' Metamoran vest, Piccolo's weighted training cape, and the upper body portion of Ultimate Gohan's Gi, which he later removed after absorbing Vegito. Innocent Buu is also known to wear pajamas while living in the house he created shortly before meeting Mr. Satan. Additionally in Xenoverse 2, Good Buu asks if he can try on Spike the Devil Man Suit if the Future Warrior talks to him while wearing it. In Dragon Ball Heroes, Kid Buu gains Babidi's cothes if he absorbs Babidi and Kibito Kai's clothes if he absorbs Kibito Kai. Majin Buu: Xeno gains Demon God Dabura's clothes after absorbing him and partially retains them after absorbing Dark Demon Janemba: Xeno.

It should be noted that Majin are capable of removing their clothing, as Innocent Buu has been known to remove his clothes in order to take a bath and Super Buu's aforementioned removal of Gohan's shirt. Interestingly, Majins are apparently capable of regenerating their clothing as well as their bodies even if they are blown to pieces, which was shown various times by Majin Buu's various incarnations. Also unlike most races, clothing worn by Majin hardly ever show any major battle damage. In Xenoverse, this extends not only to Majin Buu's Clothes and Buu-gi, but to all types of clothing such as Battle Suits and Turtle Hermit Uniforms as all clothing regenerate with it wearer following a Majin's use of the Ill Bomber technique to blow themself into pieces. Additionally, all clothing worn by Majin will stretch along with its user when stretching parts of their body (however this may be simply be a game mechanic as this stretching attribute also applies to Namekian characters). It is likely that due to their magical powers, any clothing worn by Majins that was not specifically designed for them (such as Battle Armor, Time Patroller Suit, and Turtle Hermit Uniforms) may be altered magically, allowing it to regenerate and stretch along with its wearer.

Like most humanoid females (such as Earthlings and Saiyans), female Majin wear garments to cover chest and/or to support their bust (in Xenoverse female Majin wear a red strapless bra as an irremovable undergarment which can seen when they are either not wearing any upper body clothing or wearing upper body clothing that would expose all or part of their chest if the undergarment was not present such as Broly's Clothes or Uub's Clothes). This implies that Majin practice the same kind of modesty of dress as other races as females keeping their chest covered when in public while male Majin can bare their chest as males of other races do.

While most Majin typically wear Buu-gi, some are known to prefer other types of clothing. The female Majin Time Patroller Taino prefers to wear Ginyu Force style battle armor as she is a big fan of the Ginyu Force. Haru Haru & Shun Shun wear Time Breaker Battle Armor as they are high-ranking members of the Time Breakers. When a Majin transforms into their Pure Majin state, they will wear clothing identical to that worn by Kid Buu, though their they will revert to the clothing they were wearing before they transformed after reverting to their base form.

In Xenoverse 2, Majin Time Patrol recruits are issued Buu-gi called the Time Patrol Gi which features the Time Patrol logo and is the official uniform for Majin recruits. There are two different versions of the Time Patrol Gi that are issued based on the Majin's gender. Female Majin Bazzara wears Gohan's Tracksuit just like her Captain Suga (though Suga wears the shoes for Goku's Tracksuit instead of Gohan's that Bazzara wears). Male Majin Dekeit wears Goku's Tracksuit as well showing that some fitness conscious Majin prefer Tracksuits.

Other Majin types

Nox

Nox, a battle-enhanced Majin

Not every member of the Majin race is a part of the subspecies spawned by Majin Buu and several other types of Majin have appeared.

The first is the Teapot Genie, a Majin who existed on Earth.

The second are the Spring Majin and their variants - the Ensei Majin and Gogyo Majin, which exist on Planet Earth.

The third is Majin Ozotto, a Super Monster who dwells on the Green Planet. This type of Majin possess the special trait of shape-shifting into a foe and copying their signature abilities. The Super Monster is also capable of undergoing a transformation, becoming rotund and growing extra arms from its chest.

The Phantom Majin, Hirudegarn

The fourth is the Phantom Majin (幻魔人, genmajin) - called Phantasm in the English subs - with the only example being Hirudegarn, who was created from a statue of a Demon God by a clan of evil wizards who infused it with evil, turning into a living monster. It evades attacks by turning into ectoplasm, using its tail to absorb the energy of living beings, and breathing fire. The Phantom Majin has displayed two forms.

Additionally there is such a thing as a battle-enhanced Majin, the only example being Nox - who was created by magicians.

Classes and forms

Classes

Various Majins in Dragon Ball Online

Two starting careers are available to the Majin race in Dragon Ball Online: Mighty Majin (the physical fighting class) and Wonder Majin (the spiritual class). Once reaching the required level of skill, a Mighty Majin may choose to take on one of two secondary careers Ultimate Majin or Grand Chef Majin, while a Wonder Majin may choose to take on Karma Majin or Plasma Majin.

Majin who work as Time Breakers are referred to as "Addicted Majin".

Pure Majin

Kidbu3-2

A Pure Majin, Kid Buu

In Dragon Ball Online, when members of the Majin race manage to summon Shenron, they can wish for a unique transformation labelled as Pure Form. This form resembles Kid Buu, who is Majin Buu's Pure Form. The Pure form is also mentioned in the PSP game Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai - Another Road, when Future Super Buu achieves his Pure form, Future Kid Buu.

When a regular member of the Majin race (like the ones in Dragon Ball Online) takes on their Pure Form, their dormant power is released. When a Majin who has absorbed others to increase their power takes on their Pure Form (like Majin Buu), their power changes to what it was before the absorptions, in Super Buu's case decreasing when becoming Kid Buu.

In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, a Majin Future Warrior can access this form via the Purification Awoken Skill which they can unlock with the help of the version of Good Buu from an alternate timeline located inside a time rift anomaly around his house that can be accessed via the Majin Buu's House Time Miniature in Conton City. After helping Good Buu create three children by feeding him food to power his fission, Majin Buu will sense the Warrior's dormant power and though reluctant due to his negative opinion of Kid Buu, decided to help them unlock it as they had helped him start a family. Buu reveals that there is a risk that the Future Warrior will lose their good heart, causing them to essentially turn into another incarnation of Kid Buu, though the Warrior is undeterred. Supported by Goten and Trunks, the Warrior fights Majin Buu and eventually unlocks their Pure Majin form while fighting him. In their pure Majin form, the Warrior takes a form nearly identical to Kid Buu though retains their voice and skin tone. The Warrior also gains access to Kid Buu's techniques and fighting style such as Mystic Ball Attack, Pearl Flash, Vanishing Ball, Quick Sleep, Maximum Charge, Super Vanishing Ball, Teleporting Vanishing Ball, and Angry Shout. Guarding in Pure Majin form causes them to use Body Manipulation to avoid attacks by stretching their bodies.

In Dragon Ball FighterZ, all of Android 21's Clone Buus are apparently Pure Majins though Gohan suspects they were not cloned from Kid Buu's cells as had any survived due to sampling he would have regenerated were that the case (due to his studying to be a scholar Gohan is highly intelligent). Android 21 (Good) also implies Good Buu's cells were used as he is still alive and it is known that his descendants possess Kid Buu's latent power which can be accessed via the Pure Majin form. Presumably the clones heartless nature (as they were created to be essentially mindless drones that know only how to fight like the originals) and the Majin cells uncontrollable nature caused the clones to become Pure Majins (which might explain why no Super Buu, Evil Buu, Innocent/Good Buu clones exist) which due to their heartlessness became incarnations of Kid Buu (essentially true clones of the original as they possess the original's personality). These clones possess a weaker version of Kid Buu's absorption ability which allows them to absorb other clones to power up without taking on their absorption's characteristics.

Dark Kid Buu

Dark Kid Buu

In Xenoverse, Kid Buu achieves the third stage Villainous Mode form when possessed by Demigra's Mirage after being revived as a member of The Bosses. In this form his entire body color to a similar hue of dark purple, causes his eyes to become pure red, and he gains marks under his eyes identical to those of Demigra, albeit black instead of red. In this form Kid Buu is far stronger than he was historically. This form as appears randomly as an enemy in an Expert Mission in Xenoverse 2.

Supervillain

Supervillain Kid Buu

In Xenoverse 2, Kid Buu achieves the second stage Supervillain Mode form after Towa shaves off some of his life force to alter the history of his final battle on the Sacred World of the Kais. In this form causes the his body changes color to a pale shade of white, and causes his eyes to glow a hot pink color. He also gains the Time Breakers' broken infinity symbol on his forehead, as well as a black and white aura.

Innocent Buu, Good Buu, Super Buu (Base/Gohan Absorbed), and Kid Buu can all use the first stage power-up version. Innocent Buu (in story) and Kid Buu (in certain Parallel Quests/Expert Missions) briefly bulk up before reverting to normal the using the Supervillain power-up.

Demon God

Main article: Demon God In Super Dragon Ball Heroes, Majin Buu: Xeno acquires the Demon God form by absorbing Demon God Xeno Dabura allowing him to utilize Godly ki and wield Demon God Dabura's sword.

Potential Unleashed

Main article: Potential Unleashed In the Xenoverse series, Majins can access their hidden potential without transforming into their pure Majin form after training under Elder Kai. In Xenoverse, they do this by having Elder Kai unlock their potential using his Elder Kai's Unlock Ability allowing them to use Potential Unleashed (under the name Unlock Potential) as an Ultimate Skill transformation. In Xenoverse 2, it is acquired after completing the final Advancement Test for Super Class (though this time it appears under the name Potential Unleashed) and appears as an Awoken Skill transformation. Though it functions as a transformation in-game it is actually more of a state of being that allows the Majin to access their hidden power without transforming into Pure Majin making it a safer and easier way to access their potential. It is also easier to maintain as their is no stamina drain and they can charge ki much faster than other Awoken Skills such as Pure Majin and Kaio-ken. In this state they emit a silver white aura which resemble the aura of their Pure Majin form.

Majin avatars after using God Power granted by God Class-up

In Dragon Ball Heroes, the Majin avatars are capable of taking on a god state like all of the other avatars by unleashing "God Power". The God Class-up grants Majin avatars a god state comparable in power to the Super Saiyan God form, while the Super God Class-up grants Majin avatars a god state comparable in power to the Super Saiyan Blue form.

Super Monster's transformation

Majin Ozotto (the Super Monster) is shown to be capable of a transformation unique to his Majin type, in his transformed state he becomes much more rotund, and grows a pair of extra arms.

Post-Transformation Phantom Majin

Phantom Majin like Hirudegarn are shown to be capable of evolving into a new state, with Hirudegarn taking on his transformation after being taken down by Gotenks, this form is much stronger and grants the Phantom Majin wings in order to allow flight.

Majin Android 21 game art

Android 21 in her true form

  • Android 21 - A female Earthling converted into a Biotechnological-Type Android who possess Kid Buu and Good Buu's cells, as well as Cell's cells and countless scientific researchers. In her true form, her Majin traits are most dominant and she possesses the power to turn people into food and absorb them. However due to the uncontrollable nature of her Majin cells she develops an insatiable hunger that causes her psyche to fracture into a good and evil halves, which leads to her subconscious fission in the Android 21 Arc due to anguish and guilt after murdering Android 16 while overcome by her hunger.
    • Android 21 (Good) - The pure good fission of Android 21 that represents her gentle "heart". Despite her good nature, she fears her urge to feed will cause her to one day lose control.
    • Android 21 (Evil) - The pure evil fission of Android 21 that represents her evil split personality that developed as a result of the uncontrollable nature of Majin cells and her insatiable hunger. Views other beings as little more than food, cares only for herself, and her hunger makes her mentally unstable and destructive the hungrier she gets.
  • Clone Buus - A pale fast growing clones of Kid Buu created by Android 21. Due to the uncontrollable nature of Majin cells, Kid Buu clones are not mindless and share the original Kid Buu's evil personality and mannerisms.

Trivia

  • "Majin" is a Japanese word with no direct translation, meaning "one who has a supernatural ability", and it often used to refer to creatures with magical powers. The characters in the word individually translate to "demon" (魔, ma) and "person" (人, jin).
Teapot Genie

The Teapot Genie from Dr. Slump

  • Majin Buu was partially based off the Dr. Slump villain "Teapot Genie" (茶ビン魔人 Chabin Majin), who along with resembling the fat version of Buu, was also incredibly powerful, and was referred to as a Majin, due to "majin" being a synonym for "genie" in Japanese.
  • Three types of Majins, also not part of the Majin race created by Buu and not related to Babidi's Majins, appear in the RPG Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans: Gogyo Majin, Ensei Majin, and Spring Majin.
  • In Dragon Ball Xenoverse, if a Majin Future Warrior talks to Frieza while he is their Master, Frieza will mention that he is impressed at how powerful Majins are able to become without the need to transform.
  • In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, when first fought in the main story Zarbon will find a Majin Future Warrior appearance monstrous and repulsive regardless if they are male or female. However while training a Majin Future Warrior he will be jealous of the Majin's shiny and smooth skin.
  • In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, if a Majin Future Warrior takes on Dodoria as an Instructor, Dodoria will reveal he originally thought they were a member of Dodoria's race when he first saw them, but after looking at them more closely he realizes they are not.
  • In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, one of the Combatants inside Frieza's Spaceship will mention that he heard that the Majin Homeworld was destroyed along time ago, indicating that it is possible that Majin Buu or one of his various incarnations may have spawned other Majins in the past or more likely that Kid Buu had destroyed his planet of origin during one of his rampages in the past.
  • In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Lord Slug is shown to be aware of the existence of Majins and their demonic nature as he had heard stories about the planets destroyed by Majin Buu and refers to them as those legendary creatures, indicating that the Majin through Majin Buu's various incarnations have attained legendary status among Demon Clansmen. However Slug is unaware of what Majins look like as he does recognize them as a demon at first due to their harmless looking appearance, though later realizes the Majin Future Warrior's connection to the demonic creature of legend and welcomes them into his army, quite pleased to have such a creature as an underling.
    • He also notes to the Namekian Future Warrior that Namekians and Majin fight pretty well together and even asks them if they are sure if they are not part Majin as they cannot master what he has taught them unless evil resides within them, though after they compete his training he notes that could utilize his techniques regardless if they possess a strong enough constitution to prevent the power of demons from tearing their body to shreds. Presumably Majin are able to utilize that power naturally due to their inherently demonic nature.
  • In FighterZ, it is implied that Majin cells and DNA are naturally uncontrollable making them dangerous to utilize in genetic engineering using Earth based technology as shown by Android 21 and the Clone Buus.
    • The Clone Buus are virtually identical to Kid Buu in terms of behavior instead of being mindless drones. This is likely the result of his cells uncontrollable nature presumably due to demonic and magical nature (which is likely beyond the understanding of mortal science) of the Majin.
    • In a special event between Adult Gohan & Good Buu against Clone Buu, Gohan points out it should be impossible to clone Kid Buu using his cells as he would be able to regenerate if any of his cells survived. However as Good Buu is still alive and his descendants carry some of Kid Buu's latent power, presumably Android 21 cloned them from Good Buu's cells though presumably the growing process caused the cells to be purified or it is due to the uncontrollable nature of Majin cells that causes them to take on the Pure Majin form of Kid Buu.
      • It should also be noted that the Majin clones lack of "heart" (due to their artificial nature) may contributed to them becoming Kid Buu clones as Good Buu notes that Majin risk losing it and becoming another incarnation of Kid Buu when attempting to acquire their pure Majin form in Xenoverse 2 thus the heartless nature of the clones (which were created to be little more than mindless drones that only know how to fight) may have contributed to them becoming Pure Majin clones instead of Good Buu clones. This may also explain why no Innocent Buu, Good Buu, Evil Buu, or Super Buu clones are ever encountered in FigherZ.
  • In the English releases of Dragon Ball, anyone with the Demon mark is considered a Majin but in the Japanese releases, that is not the case.
