Ki Blast Cannon is an Energy Wave used by Tien Shinhan.
Overview[]
Tien holds out both palms, one behind the other. He then charges up and fires a beam similar in appearance to a large Dodon Ray.
Usage and Power[]
Being fired from the four Tiens at the same time
During his match against Goku in the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament, Tien and his clones lined up on the four corners of the ring and fired the Ki Blast Cannon at Goku, creating a large explosion in the center of the ring. Goku dodged this by jumping into the clouds but the four Tiens found him and zapped him with their eye lasers. When Goku got back up, the Tiens tried this combination again, but this time Goku countered with the Solar Flare, the same technique used by Tien against Goku in their last match.
Tien (below) fires a Ki Blast Cannon at Super Perfect Cell
In the Cell Games, Tien uses the attack in combination with Piccolo's Masenko, and Krillin and Yamcha's Team Work Kamehameha in an attempt to help Super Saiyan 2 Gohan to win his beam struggle against Cell's Solar Kamehameha.
Video Game Appearances[]
Ki Blast Cannon was named in the Budokai series and is one of Tien's attacks. However, it is fired in the same fashion as the Tri-Beam. In Budokai 2, Super Buu can also use the attack after absorbing Tien & Yamcha.
In Burst Limit, Tien cannot use the Ki Blast Cannon in battle, but in the level Nappa... the Invincible?, he uses it as a last resort to defeat Nappa (though not seen) rather than the Spirit Tri-Beam.
Trivia[]
- Ki Blast Cannon is also a name used for the clear energy shockwave technique fired from the palm.
- Ki Blast Cannon also is an alternate name for the Tri-Beam.
