Kamehameha Deflection

Kamehameha Deflection (かめはめねし, Kamehameha Hanekaeshi)^[2]^[3] is a technique used by Tien Shinhan.

Overview[]

The user forms a hand seal, focusing their energy around their body, and, judging the timing of the Kamehameha, the user releases a kiai which deflects the Kamehameha back in the direction of their opponent. Due to the shocking nature of the technique, it includes a surprise factor that catches the opponent off-guard, ensuring the collision of the energy wave.

Usage[]

Tien used this technique against Yamcha during the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament.^[4]

Video Game Appearances[]

In Xenoverse, Tien's Z-Soul "Haaaaaaaaaaaah!" is based off of this ability, completely negating any technique with Kamehameha in the name.

In Fusions, Tien possesses the Skill "Kamehameha Block" which nullifies the damage from all Kamehameha techniques but does not prevent Tien being knocked back.

In Xenoverse 2, "Haaaaaaaaaaaah!" returns as a Super Soul which nullifies damage from all Kamehameha techniques when equipped as well. Tien's Uniform variants possess the Super Soul.
