"Wreathed in energy, approach your opponent, and launch a violent attack to split them clean in two!"
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Skill description

Instant Severance (瞬間裂斬 Shunkan Retsuzan, lit. "Instant Fierce Cut") is a long-ranged technique used by Zamasu and is derived from the God Split Cut Energy Blade.

Zamasu summoning God Split Cut before initiating the move

Zamasu uses a kiai to push the opponent away, then charges the God Split Cut in his right hand. He then approaches the opponent in the form of a ki slash and then bifurcates them, causing great damage, if not instant death.

Usage and Power

Zamasu used this when a Babarian found both Gowasu and Zamasu watching over them. Using this move, Zamasu kills the Babarian instantly, much to Gowasu's chagrin.

  • DUAL Instant Severance - A team attack that appears as Future Zamasu's Dual Ultimate Skill in Xenoverse 2. It is a team attack developed by Future Zamasu for use by both himself and his disciple the Future Warrior, in which both use Instant Severance to attack a single opponent.

Video Game Appearances

This move appears in and is named in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and where it appears as Zamasu's Ultimate Skill as part of the Super Pack 3 DLC. Future Zamasu also uses the technique in a parallel version of Future Trunks' timeline featured in a parallel quest, however, it should be noted that like Android 17, Android 18, Android 16, and Cell, Zamasu is used to represent his Future counterpart in Xenoverse 2. As part of the Extra Pack 1 DLC, the Future Warrior can learn it by completing School Quest: "Lesson 3" of Zamasu's Training. After the 1.09.00 Update, the Future Warrior can learn DUAL Instant Severance version after achieving maximum Friendship with Zamasu. The Future Warrior can use the Dual Ultimate version with Zamasu or other Time Patrollers. It can also be equipped to Zamasu's custom skillset via Partner Customization (like all Dual Ultimates, it is automatically available for Zamasu and does not need to be unlocked).

In Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle, it appears as the super attack of Zamasu in a dual card with Gowasu under the name Fierce God Slicer.
