Hybis (ハイビス Haibisu) is a soldier of King Kadan.
Appearance[]
Hybis is a short portly demon with pointy ears, pink skin and dark blue fur with it popping out as a single strand atop his head. He wears a mustard collarless double breasted military dress with a zigzag pattern on the bottom, a black inner full sleeve shirt, button shoulder epaulettes, a large military belt which has a large silver belt buckle with the Evil Third Eye attached to it. He wears muddy amber colored military pants and spring dust yellow boots. Like most demons in the Third Demon World, Hybis also wears a Magic Collar around his neck. Later, he trades his belt for a weird green hat resembling two pool floats stacked together.
Personality[]
Hybis seems to always have an emotionless expression but possess a somewhat mischievous personality where he's shown dancing around and being carefree. He also seems to dislike having responsibilities as seen when he tried coming up with excuses when being ordered by King Kadan to bring Goku's friends to the Demon Realm. He is also rather insensitive, as he asks Bulma to be his girlfriend and doesn't seem to mind that she and Vegeta are already married, and pointedly accuses Vegeta of liking well-endowed women, much to the Saiyan's justified irritation.
Biography[]
Background[]
Hybis finds the Evil Third Eye
Hybis works for King Kadan of the Third Demon World. At some point, he discovered a living eye in the mountains while hunting. Unaware or uncaring of its status as the Evil Third Eye, Hybis has worn it on his belt ever since.[1][2]
Dragon Ball Daima[]
Daima Saga[]
Hybis is dancing around until Kadan orders him to bring Goku's friends to the Demon Realm. Hybis is disinterested and tries to get out of it with an excuse but gets scolded by Kadan immediately. Once, he learns the location and the number of people he's bringing back, Hybis mentions needing a bigger plane which Kadan grants by stealing one from the Nemophy Gang.[3]
Hybis aggravates Vegeta
Hybis arrives on Earth to pick up Goku's friends and returns to the Demon Realm with them in tow.[4][5] During their journey, they rest at a hotel, but Vegeta's fight with some thugs leads to the theft of their plane, so Hybis and the others decide to contact Princess Panzy for assistance. While waiting for help, Hybis suggests they play the "Zombie Game" in a nearby zombie-infested forest, where the player who eliminates the most zombies win, but both Bulma and Piccolo quickly decline. Bulma notices the eye in Hybis' belt moving and is creeped out, and Hybis explains that he found it in the mountains a long time ago.
Later, Goku's group rendezvous with Hybis', but due to the plane's weight limit (and Bulma's supposed lack of storage capsules on hand), Hybis and the others are forced to wait for Kadan to send another plane.
Afterwards, the thugs Vegeta beat up before return alongside their allies, bent on revenge. Not one for fighting, Hybis walks elects to eat potato chips instead and walks away from the battlefield. Vegeta and Piccolo quickly engage the thugs, only leaving enough time for Hybis to eat two chips before they are all defeated.[1] Having recovered their plane, Hybis and company also make the trip over to Sir Warp. Hybis suggests making Bulma his girlfriend causing Vegeta to quickly jump in to tell him that they are married and tells Bulma that they will both be turning back into adults together which Hybis says he only wants to happen because Vegeta must like big boobs.
Hybis in the Second Demon World
They then arrive in the Second Demon World and are found by Goku who warns them about the Krakens and land on Namek to pick up his group and learn the Demon Realm's history.[6] They then meet Neva who joins them on their journey to collect the Demon Realm Dragon Balls and watch Vegeta defeat Tamagami Number Two for his Dragon Ball with Hybis doing a little victory dance for him.[7][8] When their plane breaks down on planet Mega, Hybis acts as a step stool for Panzy Bulma so they can repair it while the others fight off the giant creatures and a Megath child.[9] As the group finally reach Sir Warp, they learn Gomah turned it off so Neva decides to remove the shield over the Demon Realm Tunnels to reach the First Demon World. Once there, they abandon the plane and Hybis carries the Dragon Balls while everyone else fight the Gendarmerie.[10]
Hybis trades his belt for a hat
During the assault on the First Demon World, Hybis is approached by a female demon sporting a strange hat. She offers to kiss Hybis in exchange for his belt, but Hybis refuses, trading his belt for her hat instead.[2] After defeating the Gendarmerie Force and Degesu, Hybis and the others arrive at the location of Tamagami Number One only to find that the Dragon Ball has already been taken by Dr. Arinsu and her Majins.[11] Later, after seeing Gomah arrive with the Evil Third Eye equipped and hearing Neva's explanation on how it was supposedly lost, Hybis realizes his accidental blunder and mutters a small "oh". When Bulma confronts him on it, Hybis tries to play it off as a completely unrelated eye. Far outmatched by this enemy, Hybis and his comrades can only watch on stunned to the ongoing events.[12][13][14]
Hybis offers to be a minister
After the battle is over and Gomah and Degesu are locked away, Majin Kuu is made the newest Supreme Demon King. His first action is to appoint a number of ministers and Hybis tries to become one but isn't chosen. Upon returning home, Hybis makes his final farewells Goku and the others as they return home.[15]
