Gomah (ゴマー Gomā), also known as King Gomah (キング・ゴマー Kingu Gomā), is a demon from Demon Realm. He becomes new King of the Demon Realm after learning of Dabura's death.
He is one of the main antagonists of Dragon Ball Daima.
Appearance[]
Gomah is a short Majin who wears a skintight red and black body suit with white gloves and white boots with gray soles. The suit seems to have a large "M" like insignia. He also dons a cape which is quite similar to what Dabura and Degesu wear. He has a white face with red underlines under each of his eyes which also have a black eyeliner. He has a pair of large horns that seem to be fused with his head rather than growing out of them separately and has distinctive pointy ears. He also carries around a dark purple staff which has golden ends and a red crystal ball on the top.
Personality[]
Gomah is an eccentric, arrogant and overall self-centered individual who takes great pride in his newfound position as King of the Demon Realm. Unlike his predecessor, Dabura, Gomah does not bother putting up a facade of politeness towards anyone, not even those who admire him. However, Gomah is very cowardly and prone to being paranoid due to watching the Dragon Team defeat the legendary Majin Buu and Dr. Arinsu's further manipulations of warning him of the Dragon Team's possible intentions of invading the Demon Realm with him having no powerful warriors to protect the realm or him, making him reluctantly continue funding her research as a result. Because of the new threat on the horizon, he along with Degesu decide to turn them into children with their own Dragon Balls.
He generally acts disrespectful to those around him such as constantly ridiculing Neva about his personal hygiene or just blatantly orders him around and gets mad when he tries to reconfirm, to which he throws a fit on despite knowing him being senile due to his age. He also tried to be rude with Sir Warp, by ordering it to tell the names of the people who were sneaking out of the Demon Realm but was quickly put to place for the tone in which he addressed it with, showing he is submissive to those who are either stronger than him or higher in position. Gomah listens to Degesu's input and even considered his request for the third wish from Shenron.
As a ruler, he is no better, as under his orders in the Third Demon World where the Gendarmerie went around small villages to announce the increase of their taxes and taking away the lifespan of those who failed to meet the quota of three gold coins. This has earned the disgust of several in the Demon Realm. Panzy outright said that while Dabura was bad, he was still a better ruler than Gomah, demonstrating Gomah's pettiness and cruelty.
Despite his malevolent nature, Gomah is not entirely heartless. After wishing all the warriors who assisted in the defeat of Majin Buu to be turned into children, Gomah decides not to kill the infant Dende upon seeing his innocent expression. Instead, Gomah takes Dende back to the Demon Realm as a hostage. When a caretaker is reading a story to Dende, Gomah tells them to use more emotion and joy when telling the story. He explains to the caretaker that he must be well-taken care of, and albeit for the selfish intention to have Dende make new Dragon Balls for Gomah, it still however, showed some mild consideration for the young Namekian's wellbeing.
Biography[]
Dragon Ball Daima[]
Daima Saga[]
In the Demon King Palace, Gomah and Degesu use a magic monitor to jump through the key events that occurred when Earth was invaded by the Organization of Babidi and Majin Buu. While watching these events, Gomah curses Babidi for using Dabura as his subordinate and notices Shin being involved. When looking into further events, Gomah and Degesu are taken by surprise by the power the mortals on Earth possess. After learning of Dabura's defeat, Gomah becomes the new King of the Demon Realm. However, their celebration is short lived when Dr. Arinsu arrives and stirs up Gomah's anxiety after threatens to cut her research fund by suggesting that the mortals who defeated Majin Buu will invade Demon Realm. After hearing this, Gomah decides to use Earth's Dragon Balls to weaken everyone involved in the battle with Buu and acquire the Evil Third Eye. He also decides to bring Neva with them, and they leave through Sir Warp to Universe 7's Earth.
Upon arriving on the Lookout, Gomah tells Dende to summon the Dragon Balls, but he refuses so Gomah has Neva do it instead. While waiting, Gomah explains the Namekians origins to Dende and summons Shenron while Degesu prevents Dende from interfering. He then wishes for Summon turn everyone who fought Majin Buu and their friends into children and babies.[1] However, he surprised to learn that he only gets one wish due to being a first-time user and would've wish for the Evil Third Eye instead if he had known that. Gomah then tells Neva to restore the Dragon Balls again but learns he can't do that twice in a row and gets angry. Once Degesu reminds him that the mortals are harmless now, Gomah decides to take the child-like Dende with him so that the Dragon Balls will no longer be usable on Earth and returns to the Demon Realm.[2]
In the Demon King Palace, Gomah tells the babysitter to read the book to a young Dende with more emotion in her voice as he needs to be taken good care of due to how important he will become for him.[3]
Power[]
Despite his short stature, Gomah is described as being a crafty individual who is capable of using amazing magical abilities (similar to Babidi) that even Marba, the witch who created Majin Buu, warned Dr. Arinsu to not take him lightly.
Nevertheless, Glorio believes that Goku should be able to defeat him as he had already previously defeated Majin Buu.
Gomah also appears to have no confidence in being able to defeat the Tamagami himself, opting instead to use Earth's Dragon Balls and finds the notion of someone actually acquiring the Dragon Balls from them as being impossible.
