This article is about the Goku who joined the Time Patrol. For other incarnations of Goku, see Goku (disambiguation).

Xeno Goku (そん悟空ごくう :ゼノ Son Gokū: Zeno)[2] is an incarnation of Son Goku (そん悟空ごくう Son Gokū) from a world separate to the main timeline.[3] He is a member of the Time Patrol.

Appearance[]

Xeno Goku 2

Xeno Goku's outfit as a Time Patroller.

Xeno Goku is a tall and muscular man. Like his counterparts, Xeno Goku is a spitting image of his father, Xeno Bardock, possessing the same unique spiky black hairstyle, dark eyes, and facial features. However, he has softer eyes, a kind demeanor, and a lighter pale skin complexion from his mother, Gine. Perhaps Xeno Goku's most distinguishing physical characteristic is his spiky black hair. He has 3 bangs hanging to the right of his forehead and 2 bangs hanging to the left. His hair also stands up in the front with 5 spikes and 4 bangs in the back. Xeno Goku is also seemingly void of his Saiyan tail until transforming into Super Saiyan 4.

During Xeno Goku's time aiding the Time Patrol, seen in Dragon Ball Heroes, Xeno Goku wears a black form-fitting short-sleeved shirt and black pants with black kung fu shoes and blue stockings. He also wears a flowing red vest with a long backside that is secured with a blue obi tied over it at his waist and blue armbands. He also begins carrying the Power Pole again across his back, and a bag of Senzu Beans secured to his obi. In World Mission, it is revealed that this is his official Time Patrol uniform provided by Chronoa. Before putting it on, Xeno Goku is seen wearing a mark less Turtle School Gi like Goku and Future Goku.

During the Dark King Mechikabura Saga, Xeno Goku wears a black trench coat.

Personality[]

While Xeno Goku's personality matches the cheerful and friendly demeanor of his primary counterpart, he acts considerably more mature due to his responsibilities as a member of the Time Patrol, noticeably choosing to avoid drawing out battles that could potentially threaten the multiverse rather than delay the task at hand in favor of his desire for challenge. However, he may also deliberately enjoy his role as a Time Patroller due to the nature of his career pitting him against a variety of powerful opponents across spacetime. This feeling would be reinforced by a chance encounter with his fellow Goku, who provides him a chance at a high-octane battle that would not put others' lives at risk. During the Super Space-Time Tournament, although his primary duty is to investigate the host Aeos' sinister intentions and retake the Scrolls of Eternity, he deliberately seeks the main Goku out during the first round for a one-on-one brawl, and once Demigra's plot is foiled, the idea of fighting another version of himself remains so irresistible that he and the main timeline Goku can't help but ask Aeos to set up a special arena for them to battle in. Later, he admits to Chronoa that being able to fight such a multitude of strong warriors is exactly why he strives to protect history.

In World Mission, though Xeno Goku is uncomfortable at first with his new uniform, finding it strange to wear something other than his standard Gi, he eventually settles into it after a frustrated Chronoa tells him to just deal with it. He and Xeno Vegeta aren't fans of Xeno Trunks' Great Saiyaman 3 suit and antics (much like his main counterpart's opinion of Gohan's Great Saiyaman Suit), and quickly blow Trunks' disguise before the hybrid can really object.

Biography[]

Background[]

Main article: Goku Xeno Goku's history is very similar to his main timeline counterpart's with him being known to have experienced versions of the Frieza and Cell Sagas, but unlike his main counterpart, he encountered the movies Tree of Might, Lord Slug, and Fusion Reborn as well as the events of Dragon Ball GT - having battled the Shadow Dragons in the past. At some point he encountered Broly. As such, Xeno Goku did not experience the events of Dragon Ball Super, and so was unaware of many of his main timeline counterpart's forms, especially Super Saiyan Blue, until they both met.

Chronoa then summons Xeno Goku from his timeline to have him assist Xeno Trunks for a limited time, inducting him into the Time Patrol. Xeno Goku and Xeno Trunks then spend the next six months training and getting stronger though in reality it had only been three days due to Chronoa changing the flow of time in the room they were training in.

Dark Empire Saga[]

Main article: Dark Empire Saga Xeno Goku's first mission was to correct an alternation in history involving his first fight with Frieza on Namek. In this altered history, Xeno Frieza, attached to the One-Star Dark Dragon Ball was overwhelming Goku even as a Super Saiyan. However, Xeno Goku along with Xeno Trunks arrived just in time to save Goku from dying. The two Gokus then fire a Super Kamehameha at Frieza and though he is able to hold each of them back, it causes enough distraction to enable Xeno Trunks to slice him in half, correcting history.

DDRMI2

Xeno Goku faces Xeno Majin Buu.

Xeno Goku's next mission involved correcting the history of Xeno Majin Buu, who had merged with another Dark Dragon Ball, the Three-Star. However, the Dark Empire army arrive along with their commander, the Demon God Dabura who intervenes in Goku and Buu's battle. When Dabura slices Buu in half he turns his attention to Goku but dropping his guard the conflict started to escalate when Buu absorbs Dabura. Soon enough, Chronoa appears bringing along Xeno Trunks and Xeno Vegeta as back up. With no other choice, Xeno Goku fuses with Xeno Vegeta once more to form Xeno Vegito. While they were successful at holding their own against the powered up Dark Demon God Buu, they were stopped in their tracks by the sudden appearance of the mysterious Chamel and as a result Buu escapes. Recovering from the mission, they were soon approached by Chamel, who complimented their usefulness before hinting that Hell is becoming more and more agitated.

Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta 02

Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta in Hell.

Chamel takes the Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta to Hell where they confront Towa and the grim reaper, Shroom who had moments earlier defeated Xeno Janemba. Chamel tells Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta to attack Shroom while he deals with Towa and they all begin to battle. Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta struggle against Shroom as they have little strength after having their souls mowed, one of Shroom's special abilities. With little other choice, Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta use the Fusion Dance to become Xeno Gogeta and transform into a Super Saiyan before urging Shroom to fight him again.

The battle rages on with neither having a clear advantage. When a dark portal opens up above the two, the time limit for Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta's Fusion runs out. When Goku flies off to head through the portal, Shroom attempts to stop him but Xeno Vegeta intervenes by grabbing his Scythe, allowing Xeno Goku to get away while Xeno Vegeta faces off against Shroom alone.

Mira Broly Xeno Goku

Xeno Goku, Mira, and Broly about to battle.

When Xeno Goku comes through the other side of the portal he finds himself in the Demon Realm and sees Super Saiyan 4 Dark Broly battling against Demon Goddess Towa. Upon seeing Xeno Goku, Broly goes into a fit of rage and attacks him immediately. Towa and Xeno Paragus take the opportunity to attack Xeno Broly but Paragus is punched hard, knocking him through the same portal that Xeno Goku travelled through, and Towa is knocked out. Shortly after, Mira also appears through a portal and absorbs the unconscious Towa to enter a more powerful form which he then uses to battle Broly. Seeing the ongoing battle between the two, Xeno Goku powers up into his Super Saiyan 4 state as well and heads into battle as all three fighters battle it out against one another at the same time. The three prove to all be on par with each other and end the battle each with a large beam of energy causing a huge explosion that knocks out Xeno Goku and Broly causing his Dark Dragon Ball to fall out of his chest though Mira is left standing.

Shortly after the battle, he rejoins the rest of the Time Patrol in the Demon Realm as they attempt to stop Mechikabura from having his wish granted by Dark Shenron. He battles with his allies against Mechikabura's subordinates, fighting against Shroom but due to still being tired from his earlier battle, fuses with Xeno Vegeta to become Super Saiyan 4 Xeno Gogeta who quickly turns the tables on his enemies.

There the Time Patrol encounter and battle the Xeno Shadow Dragons including Xeno Omega Shenron and attain victory. However when it comes time to battle Demigra himself he instead offers a truce knowing that Mechikabura has escaped from the Time Labyrinth.

In the manga, Xeno Goku and the other members of the Time Patrol are thanked for their work in preserving the timelines by Old Kai when Trunks notices another disturbance. The Time Patrol head to Age 790 where they witness Gogeta fighting against Omega Shenron. Soon after arriving, their present timeline counterparts, friends and family under a form of mind control attack them and Xeno Goku finds himself battling against Majuub. Shortly afterward Demigra and his henchmen Chamel and Robelu appear. With Towa and Dabura also in the area sporting a new more powerful Demon God state, Robelu tells Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta to fuse. Doing so they become Xeno Gogeta and later defuse upon everyone being teleported by Chamel to Demigra's lair.

SDBH DR Ch14 2

Super Saiyan Xeno Goku defeats Salsa.

The Time Patrol are told by Chamel of the six Hell Gates and that behind each one lies a Demon God who is maintaining a barrier to Mechikabura's Palace and they must all be defeated. Xeno Goku heads through the Blue Hell gate where Salsa is it's protector. Xeno Goku fires a Kamehameha but Salsa swings his sword, producing a gale of wind that sends the energy blast back, causing it to hit Xeno Goku directly. Xeno Goku charges in for a physical confrontation but is caught up in Salsa's Trick of Tornado technique which cuts away at him. As Salsa rushes in with his sword to put an end to things, Xeno Goku counters by using his Power Pole to hit his opponent in the stomach. With the tornado fading, Xeno Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan and fires a second Kamehameha to defeat the demon.

He then returns to the hideout where he is subsequently frozen briefly by the mind controlled Chronoa and later struck by a mass of dark energy belonging to Mechikabura. Heavily injured, unable to fight and with Xeno Trunks being the only one left standing thanks to his Key Sword, Xeno Goku along with the other Saiyans give Xeno Trunks their energy so that he can go on to face Mechikabura at the Time Nest, unexpectedly transforming him into a Super Saiyan God in the process.

Dark King Mechikabura 004

After recovering, Xeno Goku and the others travel through a rift to the now desolate Time Nest to assist Xeno Trunks and Chronoa in their final battle against Mechikabura. Xeno Goku having obtained the Key Sword (that had been previously thrown away by Mechikabura) hands it over to Chronoa so she can recharge it. As the others attempt to buy her some time, Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta use Old Kai's Potara to fuse into Super Saiyan 4 Xeno Vegito to battle Mechikabura. This allows enough time for Chronoa to recharge the Key Sword enabling Xeno Trunks to deliver the final blow and seal Mechikabura away in an eternal labyrinth. After Tokitoki assumes a giant form and restores the Time Nest to it's original state, Xeno Vegito defuses and everyone celebrates their hard earned victory.

Unable to handle his counterpart's final blow, Xeno Goku reverts to base form and collapses with a smile on his face, recognizing his loss. The victorious Goku reverts and collapses as well, equally exhausted. Xeno Goku praises Perfected Ultra Instinct's strength, though Goku admits he doesn't quite have full control over it and that he still has room to improve, to which Xeno Goku agrees.

Xeno Goku then receives a transmission from Chronoa, who had been waiting for the fight to finish alongside Piccolo, Gohan, Vegeta and Xeno Trunks so she could send Goku and co. back to the main timeline. She thanks everyone for helping her protect history, though both Gokus say it's no trouble, since they got to brawl with the mightiest around.

Later Xeno Goku in his base form is shown to be able to fight Kid Buu with the Three-Star Dark Dragon Ball merged - however, he is severely damaged while Buu has taken no damage. He is also unable to land a single blow on Demon God Xeno Dabura, whose power impresses him and is then at a severe disadvantage when attacked by Dark Demon God Buu.

Xeno Goku participates in the three-way battle and is knocked unconscious as a result of the final beam struggle.

Abilities[]

  • Flight - The ability to take flight through the manipulation of ki.
  • Ki Blast - The most basic form of energy wave.
  • Kaio-ken - Xeno Goku learns this technique after dying against his world's Raditz while training under King Kai. While using it and any of its multipliers, Xeno Goku's various capacities and techniques are all proportionally increased. However, the strain of using too high a multiplier and/or for too long can be dangerous and greatly damage his body.
  • Bōjutsu - Due to having wielded the Power Pole in battle as a weapon since childhood like his counterparts, Xeno Goku is master of the art of fighting with a staff specifically the Power Pole which has greater range compared to a traditional staff thanks to its magical property to change size. However, as a Time Patroller, Xeno Goku wields the Power Pole which Chronoa provided for him. In the manga version of the Dark King Mechikabura Saga, Xeno Goku uses the Power Pole in his battle with Demon God Salsa who was guarding the blue Hell Gate, using the pole's ability to extend to catch the Demon God off guard showing his skill with the weapon hasn't diminished despite having wielded it very little in his adult life.
    • Sudden Halberd Great Fist (突戟棒拳) - Xeno Goku repeatedly hits the target with the Power Pole, knocking them into the air, and finishes by extending the pole into their chest to launch them away. Xeno Goku's Super Attack in his Super Saiyan form during the Universe Creation Saga in Dragon Ball Heroes.
  • Kamehameha - A powerful ki blast fired with two hands after concentrating a large amount of ki.

Xeno Goku as a Super Saiyan 4

Xeno Goku is capable of transforming into a Super Saiyan 4 at will. He only uses the form when absolutely necessary, as Chronoa has forbidden him from using it due to its potential to have an impact on time.[6] He uses this form during his battle with Mira and Dark Broly, as well as his battles with Super Saiyan Blue Goku, Fu and Cumber on the Prison Planet.

In World Mission, due to Xeno Vegeta rejecting Xeno Goku's suggestion they fuse in Chapter 3, Sub Chapter 4: "Legendary Super Saiyan Awakened", Xeno Goku & Xeno Vegeta agree to transform into their Super Saiyan 4 forms to combat Super Saiyan 4 Broly after he overpowers Beat. Working together with Super Saiyan Beat, the two Super Saiyan 4s are able to weaken Broly to the point Beat can finish him off.

In the game, Xeno Goku briefly uses the Super Full Power Saiyan 4 form against Black Janemba, with power from Goku, Xeno Trunks and Xeno Pan.

During the battle against Black Janemba, the remodeled foe's boosted power proved too much for Xeno Goku and his allies to handle. Instead, at the suggestion of Putine and Salsa, Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta, along with Super Saiyan God Xeno Trunks and Xeno Pan, transfered all their Saiya power onto both Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta.

In this form, Xeno Goku's body is filled to the brim with overflowing ki. The normally reddish fur takes on a magenta hue, and his hair is highlighted with a crimson red color along with dark shadows, similar in appearance to that of Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta. He also gains a flowing purple aura similar to that of Perfected Ultra Instinct, and a skin-tight white aura when the primary aura is dissipated. Xeno Goku's voice, even compared to his normal Super Saiyan 4 form, becomes deeper and calmer.

The combined energy pushed them far beyond their natural limits of Super Saiyan 4, obtaining a state that radiated with power. In this form, Xeno Goku's speed and power are dramatically increased. Overall, Xeno Goku's sheer might in this form has been depicted as either comparable to his counterpart as a Super Saiyan Blue or in Ultra Instinct Sign, depending on the occasion.
